When they finally came to their senses and looked up in terror toward the direction of the Sea Beast... they found that the Sea Beast had plunged downward, disappearing into the depths of the sea. Observing the bubbling sea surface under the dim moonlight, people could vaguely make out that the Sea Beast was getting further and further away from them, its speed of retreat even faster than its approach.
Such an inconceivable scene left everyone on board utterly dumbfounded, with one of the sailors unable to hold back, murmuring in shock, "It feels like, it's getting further and further away, could it be... it wants to escape?"
As soon as these words slipped out, even the sailor himself was startled by his own assertion, shaking his head hurriedly, "Impossible? What the hell... am I thinking?"
"It's not entirely out of the question," suddenly, a woman's voice came from nearby, causing the merchant sailor to pause.
