To the outside viewer, the mansion would seemed identical to any other in the prestigious neighborhood. Large curtained windows set in solid concrete walls and burnt red tiles on the roof. Stone statues guarding the entrance and a freshly trimmed lawn.
The living room was filled with light from all the chandeliers, the sofas were there just empty with no one to embrace them.
Over to the other side of the sofa, was Hu Le Qi, he was holding a newspaper in his hands, one that he had already read several times, he was patiently waiting for Yan Xinyi to come home and deal with Zhao Ting Xin Yan.
Zhao Ting Xin Yan herself was busy devouring a glass of cold lemonade and a piece of cake that the maidens had just offered to her, she was dressed in a yellow off shoulder mini dress, that was so casual one could think that she was a commoner. There was a pair of pink slippers placed horizontally some centimetres away from her, they were Yan Xinyi's shoes. Hu Le Qi just glanced at the shoes and imagined the argument that would have filled that room when she arrived.
The Audi RSQ8 parked near the front door and Yan Xinyi came out. She noticed a pair of butterfly pearl decor stilettos outside the front door. And as far as she knew they must have belonged to a woman because the picture of Hu Le Qi in high heels would be very funny.
She walked to where one of the maidens was watering the flowers.
"Excuse me, Miss Zhao Ting Xin Yan is awaiting you inside?" The lady greeted a greeting that completely annoyed Yan Xinyi, the maidservant knew if she would have not said that, she would have been in deep trouble.
"Who allowed her in?" Yan xinyi asked, she was now getting tired of her life, work was stressful and home was now stressful. She was holding the keys to the mansion tightly in her hands, outraged.
The maiden could see her hand holding on tightly to the keys, she could read her emotions clearly.
"She came in." She replied in a low tone, with her head hung down.
"Did she come in through the windows then?"
"No, through the door."
"Who opened the door for her?"
"She opened it herself, she had a key to the door."
"And where were you when she opened the door? Were you paralysed or you decided to become a spectator and see if she could open the door properly?"
"No Miss Yan, I was just terrified of her."
"Terrified? Is she a wild animal that you are terrified. Let me warn you, next time if she goes in the house you will follow her and pack your things, then leave her in. Understood?"
"Y-y-yes Miss Yan Xinyi," the maidservant replied, terrified.
Yan Xinyi left the maiden outside. She walked past the flower gardens just outside the mansion and came to a sudden halt in front of the front door. She entered her key in the keyhole and unlocked the door then she got access to the room.
She found Zhao Ting Xin Yan comfortably seated on one of the sofas. Zhao Ting Xin Yan welcomed Yan Xinyi with a broad smile. Her suitcase was left at the entrance of the door. Yan Xinyi walked to where she was seated and glared at her, she then looked below her and saw her slippers.
"Madam Liu!" Yan Xinyi called out loud. Hu Le Qi on the other hand held his newspapers very tightly re-reading every page again. "It is now time for the mortal Kombat." He thought then cleared his mind from any thoughts, ready to witness the fight between Zhao Ting Xin Yan and Yan Xinyi.
Madam Liu was the female madam who was in charge of every thing that happened in the house. She had just retired but they had offered her an assistant, Madam Fu who was supposed to be helping her in any case but she was not around that day. She was on leave.
Madam Liu was in the kitchen, washing the utensils she had used when eating supper that evening. She first switched the faucet off and wiped her wet hands with a towel that was just nearby before embarking on her journey to the living room.
