"You look stunning." Alexander said in a dazed voice.
Seeing Maria in the dress that he had brought over in the morning, those were the only words that he could say.
It was a slender light blue dress that matched well with her figure, but simple as it looked, it was a design from one of the world's top designers that Alexander had custom made for Maria.
Even so, he felt that the dress paled in comparison to Maria's beauty when she wore it.
Maria revealed a smile before taking some time to look at Alexander's clothes.
This was her first time seeing him wear such fancy clothes, but she had to admit that he looked very good in them.
He had the very strong figure of a fit young man and in that suit, it made him look even more dashing. With his blond hair and piercing blue eyes, it was as if he had painted the perfect picture along with his chiseled features. But he wasn't overly manly and there was a touch of cuteness mixed in with his handsome features.
It was just the perfect mix of cute and handsome.
Maria couldn't help feeling a bit shy seeing him like this, but then she remembered his normal side and that slight flutter in her heart disappeared.
She then revealed a smile and asked, "Should we go?"
Alexander was still in a bit of a daze when he heard this, but it also quickly pulled him out of his daze. He gave a quick nod and reached his hand out towards her as he said, "Miss, if you would do me the honour of escorting you."
But before Maria could take his hand, Seul Ah slapped it away with an annoyed look.
She and Guang Liang had been there the whole time and they were very much annoyed seeing the two of them in their own world. Especially since they were dressed all fancy like a prince and a princess from a fairy tale.
This was made even worse when they remembered that Alexander was actually from the royal family…so he could be considered a prince…
But neither Seul Ah or Guang Liang would ever give Maria to Alexander.
So they acted like strict mothers as they started berating Alexander about different things.
In the end, Maria had to save him from the two of them by taking his hand and leading him out.
As they were leaving Guang Liang said with a fierce look, "Bring her back by nine or I'll declare war on your country!"
As he said this, he also raised his fist to show that he meant business.
Seul Ah didn't forget to add more fuel into the fire as she said, "I'll help him."
Alexander revealed a bitter smile when he heard this.
Two S Rankers were indeed enough to take care of an entire country. That was just how much power each S Ranker held.
But in the end, he just casually waved his hand as he followed Maria out.
There was a black limo waiting outside for the two of them.
It seemed like Alexander had gone all out for this day, he even had a red carpet with rose petals leading up to the limo prepared.
When Maria saw this, she couldn't help stopping her footsteps and looking at Alexander with a strange look.
Seeing this, he couldn't help being surprised. When he had asked the girls at his guild about this, this was what they said that they liked, so he had thought that Maria would like the same thing…
But now it seems like…
Maria saw the nervous look on his face and couldn't help giving a soft laugh, but all this did was make Alexander even more nervous.
He was about to tell his subordinates to get rid of the red carpet, but Maria grabbed his arm and said, "It's fine. It's something new."
Alexander didn't really understand what she meant by this, so all he could do was reveal an awkward smile.
The two of them got into the limo and it drove off towards the station's portal gate.
In this world filled with magic, portal gates had replaced conventional ways of travel. With these portal gates, one could travel across the planet in a matter of seconds.
The only problem was that it required a large amount of blood stones from the dungeons and blood stones were very expensive, so it was something that only rich people or hunters with large guilds supporting them could afford.
But that wasn't a problem for Alexander since he was both of those.
In an instant, they took the portal from Hunter City to London, the capital of the United Kingdom.
This London was very different from the one many years ago because gone were the attractions that made it famous.
In the monster waves when the portals first opened, the monsters completely destroyed the large and famous attractions like the Big Ben, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace had all been trampled by the monster waves.
So now there were new attractions that took their place.
There was another clock tower that was where Big Ben had been, but this time, there was something else that had been installed into the center of the clock. This was a weapon that had been created with the magic technology that had been researched over the years…it was a giant magic cannon.
This magic cannon would be used to defend London from the monsters at any time, reaching almost every part of London.
Of course, this wasn't the only cannon that had been installed.
The London Eye, the House of Parliament, and all kinds of other attractions had all been replaced with magic cannons.
But of course, there was a limit to how much energy could be shot from these magic cannons, so they weren't enough to protect humanity. They were just the first line of defense against invading monsters.
The limo drove through the streets of London and wherever it went, the streets were closed off to normal citizens. There were also guards that lined the streets that were clearly there to ensure the safety of the limo.
Maria saw all of this out the window of the limo.
She had already known that Alexander was related to the royal family, but she was surprised to find just how much power the royal family had in the United Kingdom.
But this wasn't surprising since the royal family had Alexander who was a S Ranker. With Alexander backing them, the parliament had to listen to the royal family and they were able to regain control over the government of the country.
While the royal family didn't fully control the government, it could be said that they were equal to the parliament with the influence of Alexander alone.
They also had hopes that Alexander would give birth to a son that would also reach the S Rank, which would allow them to regain complete control of the country. That was why they had been pushing Alexander to find a wife and what resulted in what happened tonight.
When they arrived at the newly built Buckingham Palace, Maria was surprised by what she saw.
The new Buckingham Palace was built with a material that was foreign to this planet, so it had a very strange appearance. Instead of the white of the limestone that it had been built of before, it was now completely black from this metal that had been mined from the portals.
This was a metal that was harder than any other metal that could be found on the planet, so it could be said that this new Buckingham Palace was equivalent to an iron fortress.
Even if S Rankers were to attack it, it would take them some time before they were able to break through.
This just all went to show how powerful and influential the royal family had become in this new world.
When they arrived at the gates of the palace, the guards immediately opened the gates for their limo since they recognized this limo. This was the limo of the only S Ranker of the royal family, so it was impossible for them not to recognize it.
But the respect ended there.
After they arrived at the main entrance of the palace, the servants of the palace greeted Alexander, but it was clear that there wasn't any respect in their actions.
Maria couldn't help being surprised because as far as she could see, it was almost as if the servants were even looking down on Alexander.
But Alexander ignored all of this as he came to the side that Maria got out on and offered her his hand.
She took it before letting him lead her into the palace.
As they headed in, she could swear that she heard the servants whispering around her. However, when she looked around, she saw that they were just standing there with blank looks on their faces.
After entering the main hall of the palace, Maria was introduced to Alexander's family.
These people all looked very similar to him, but it was clear that they didn't have the same aura as him. However, all of them dressed up in fancy clothes and wore fancy jewelry, as if they were trying to show off.
When Alexander came in with Maria, many of them looked away from them and even moved away from them.
There were only a few people that came over to greet Alexander, but just like the servants, they didn't have any respect in their voices at all.
Alexander once again didn't mind this as he happily introduced his family members to Maria.
No matter how Maria looked at this situation, it seemed very strange.
It was almost as if all of them were taken advantage of Alexander…
She didn't know why, but she felt very uncomfortable seeing this.
But since Alexander didn't say a thing, it wasn't as if she could say a thing. This was his family and she was an outsider, so it wasn't her place to say anything about them.
But of course, that didn't mean that they would be nice to her.
After Alexander finished introducing them, she could hear them walking away whispering to each other. It was very obvious what they were saying and who they were saying it about…
It didn't take long before it was announced that dinner was ready and everyone relocated to the dining hall where there was a large dining table with many different places set for them.
All of them went to a certain seat as if there was already a seating order set and Alexander brought Maria over to their seats.
But to Maria's surprise, this was a seat that was at the very end of the table near the exit. It was clear that this was the lowest position at this dining table, but it was where the most important S Ranker, Alexander, sat.
None of this made any sense at all!
