The imperial garden was fragrant with flowers.
The sky was blue and clear, and the smell of lilacs was in the air. In spite of the approaching fall, the weather was as good as it had been in the summer. And in the midst of all this beauty and charm was a young woman hiding.
Well, how was she «hiding»? I tried to carve out at least one free minute.
I turned twenty-seven this year. Quite a significant date. In the original story, I was supposed to die at that age. But now… My reincarnation as the dethroned queen ended with me hiding from my own children in the garden.
Quite an amusing fate.
I sighed and was able to sit quietly for the first time all day. A cup of green tea in my hands, while I admired the clear sky in the gazebo. I wish this bliss would last as long as possible.
At least, I hoped it would. Because after a few minutes…
— Mom!
The screams came from across the garden. I nearly choked on my tea.
