By the time Julius Reed returned to Beckett Carmichael's residence,
Quella Radcliffe and Bamboo Whitaker had already gone to sleep.
It happened that two bodyguards were waiting at the entrance, and upon seeing him, they quickly jogged over to report, "Mr. Reed, the man we found on the road has woken up."

The injured man from Willson Pavilion lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, gasping for air heavily.
