"Believing or not believing, that's your business."
Devlin walked over to the spot where Elwood Thorneycroft had just been seated and picked up a brand-new teacup.
He filled it with tea.
"In Gonzalez City, I'm merely cooperating with you to complete the task assigned by our mother-in-law."
"Hmm..."
He gently blew on the tea in the cup, his brows furrowing slightly.
"Is there poison in it?"
"Correct!"
Fabian Percival snorted softly, "Old man, you're pretty formidable!"
"Tigers do not eat their cubs. Trying to kill your own daughter twice is a bit too much," Devlin said as he gently placed the teacup back on the table.
"Elwood Thorneycroft's sudden return meant I had to be cautious!"
Fabian Percival's face darkened, and his fingers kept moving restlessly.
"Besides, she's just an adopted daughter."
"Old man," Devlin stood up and walked behind him, "it was precisely your ruthlessness that our mother-in-law saw and chose you from among countless others."
