"Those monsters seemed to easy to defeat. Say, what are the strongest creatures in this dungeon?" I asked as I placed Ruri back down.
"I heard of a legend once from my grandma, not sure if it's true, but it said phoenixes have a chance to be birthed into this realm. I've never seen one, personally, and the same goes for everyone else in Valene."
"That's most likely false. Though I will ask, where is the location that has the highest temperature?"
"Well, it is right here at this volcano, your majesty." Ruri replied.
"If a Phoenix hasn't appeared here then I doubt it'll appear anywhere else. The future, however, nobody knows and it may very well be possible." I said as I lifted my head up and looked into the sky.
"Any other creatures that are particularly strong or give lots of EXP?"
"The highest a creature, not including the legendary Phoenix, can give in terms of EXP is about 200 or so if I remember correctly."
"And what creature gives that amount?" I looked down at Ruri.
"Lamia."
"Lamia. Lower half snake upper half human." I muttered.
"These Lamia aren't intelligent and have deteriorated mentality so they cannot be considered true Lamia. Lamia over the years have stopped eating offspring and have changed while the Lamia here haven't."
"Sounds interesting to say the least. Where can I find them?" I asked.
"Travel east for a while and eventually when you get to an are filled with caves is where the Lamia are. I'm not sure of the distance."
"I'll go there sometime later. I'll just go back to Valene for now."
I picked up Ruri again and, with a strong flap of my wings, shot into the sky and flew back to Valene.
'I'm not sure what I can do to pass time. I wonder if there are spirits here or perhaps I could try summoning?'
"Your majesty, there are also beings that are able to transform into wolves and can give you great amounts of EXP, just like the Lamia, but are called werewolves and are much closer to Valene."
"I'll check them out tomorrow then."
"Shall I guide you?"
"If you don't mind."
Ruri gave me a nod and remained silent for the remaining duration of our travels back to Valene.
Just before I arrived I transformed back into my human form which was still clothed, thankfully, and then walked the rest of the way.
"Are you not going to show your true form to the other Harpies?" Ruri asked.
"I'm planning on doing that later. I don't want to startle everyone just yet."
"I see. Also, just curious, do you wish to have any servants that stay with you?"
"I don't feel that servants are necessary but if needed than I'll get myself a servant. I could summon something to be my servant anyway."
"Then I will hold onto possible candidates to serve you."
After walking some more, I arrived at my home and jumped into the ravine, landing on the bridge safely without any troubles.
I entered my home and went to one of the empty rooms on the upper floor. When the harpies told me the room was empty I expected boxes of items or something not a room that was devoid of anything but dust.
'This dust is going to make me sneeze.'
I covered my nose with a hand and used wind magic to clear away all the dust.
'Right, let's form a summoning circle then, but what do I want to summon? The most common were the demons and angels but what ones do I want to target specifically.I guess I'll try demons first.'
I began doing the simple outline of the circle and filled in the targeted creature, a demon.
'What power level do I want? I'd want something stronger than me preferably so should I go for an X - rank or something? That might be too high. I'll try it anyway.'
I wrote in the power amount of '4000' which would mean I needed to supply the summoning circle with 400 MP to summon it.
'What power classification do I want? They all have the same elements in general and gain more the further up the ranks they are so I don't think it matters. I'll make it a random one then.'
I wrote 'random' as the power classification so I would summon something by chance. I didn't mind which was summoned anyway as the power classification isn't completely accurate and an arch demon of wrath could die to an arch demon of sloth. It didn't matter to me.
There were also random other small and almost meaningless things I needed to input into the summoning circle such as age or gender and things like their behaviour. I put them all as random as, yet again, I didn't care.
'The book said I could add things to make it feel more welcome and prepare things it might want in return for its services but I've heard that summons enjoy eating their summoners mana so I'll offer that instead.
I finished the summoning circle in as much detail as I could and stayed kneeled down as I poured in the necessary mana.
The circle, drawn with regular white chalk, began to glow a bright red that filled the room with its colour before settling down a little.
"Who has called?" A feminine voice came from the light as it began to dim.
"My name is Kiera. I'm not sure if I have a surname as I was never told."
"Kiera? Hm.. let's take a closer look at my summoner then." She said as the light produced by the summoning circle disappeared.
The room was now dimly lit by a small light in the corner of the room.
The creature I had summoned was a demon of lust. Since they were ranked X by human standards then it would put them at the rank of monarch in their standards.
She was a succubus. She had soft pink skin that had a tint of grey to it and long light pink hair. Her eyes were the same colour as her hair and her ears were pointed at the tips, just like elves. She had bat like wings and horns that pointed upwards, sprouting from her head. She had an air of seduction surrounding her as she stared at me, eyes slowly widening just like the ones summoned by that royal knight from before.
"Hm.. a peculiar one we have here." She chuckled.
"How so?"
"A dragon hiding as a human in a closed off dungeon. That's what I find peculiar." She licked her lips, "tell me why you summoned me."
"There wasn't really a reason." I replied with a straight face.
"…"
Silence was maintained between us for a couple seconds before the pink haired succubus burst out laughing.
"Hahahahaha- I didn't think I'd get summoned by someone for no specific reason, hahaha. Normally I'd get summoned by those that lust over our bodies but I sense none of that hidden within your gaze, the other reason would be for our strength yet you show no greed. If you showed either of those then I would have killed you by now but who would've thought I'd get summoned for no reason, haha."
She continued chuckling before speaking after she calmed down a little.
"Sorry for laughing so much, though, it's been a while since I've laughed like that before." She showed a genuine smile, "say, would you like a contract? A contract on mutual trust and respect. If you wish for a servant-master contract then you'll have to offer me something you feel I would want. Take your pick." She said with a smirk.
"I've heard that demons like feeding on mana is that true?"
The succubus confirmed what I said with a nod, "Yes. Though it's the quality of the mana not quantity we want and it's not just demons, it's any summoned creature in general."
"I'll offer you my mana, though I will decide when to feed you my mana."
"Hoh? Now, tell me why I'd want your mana." She sneered.
"I have all the elements."
The succubus flinched as I said that and raised an eyebrow in suspicion, "show me."
I held out my hand and showed the mana contained in my heart by hovering a ball of it above my palm.
"How about twice a week." She said almost salivating while looking at my hand.
"I said I'd decide when you'd be fed."
"Once a week?"
"I could just summon another demo-"
"Deal! Deal! You decide when to feed me! I'm not turning down this offer to those bastards. They can go burn in holy fire." She snarled.
"How do we form the contract?"
"That's simple. I'll swear to the gods of summoning and give you a drop of my blood and all you need to do is spread my blood on your palm and say 'I agree to this contract.' Once I finish."
"Alright."
"I'll give you complete loyalty while you give me mana though I will not go against the rules of the demon realm."
"What is the rule you won't go against?"
"I will follow the orders of my superiors even if it goes against your command."
"I'm fine with that, begin the contract."
"I swear upon my honour and to the gods of summoning to uphold this contract until terminated. I shall serve the being in front of me, Kiera, in a servant-master contract on the condition that the master will feed the servant their mana whenever the master wishes and the servant gives the master complete loyalty. This does not include the rules of the demon realm."
She bit her finger and drops of blood floated towards me. I smeared the blood over my palm and it began to glow.
"I agree to the contract."
Both our bodies glowed in a white light before returning back to normal.
She stepped out of the summoning circle which then shattered and bowed to me.
She lifted her head to look at me with the rest of her body still bowed and winked at me, "The contract is finished, my name is Baal, pleasure to serve you, Kiera, my master." She gave me a quick smirk before raising the rest of her tall figure and stepping towards me slowly.
"What's your first order, master~"
