Chapter 87 - A new dungeon discovery (13)

After jumping off from tree to tree I began looking through my [Mastered spacial awareness] for any animals close by. I came across some fire dire wolves pretty quickly, them being only roughly 700 metres to the south-east of the place we were taking our break.

'There is only three. That's easy to deal with. Should I take them all and run back before going back to hunt again? That would probably be easiest instead of carrying them all. I'm not going to put them in my [Spacial storage] since I don't have something to pretend I'm taking it out of like a spacial ring/ storage ring or spacial bag/ storage bag. I should probably get one, it'll be more convenient that way.'

I jumped down from the branch I was on, doing a flip and landing on my feet in front of the wolves.

The wolves began snarling at me and punched at me. It wouldn't take much for me to kill them so I made a sword of air and sliced off their necks. All three of them simultaneously.

<*ping*>

< You have killed 3 fire dire wolves >

< You have gained 39 EXP >

..

I picked up the corpses, slinging them over my shoulders, and began running back to the 'camp'.

I got back quickly and threw them the wolves.

"Holy crap, that was quick!" Terry shouted, frightened by my sudden appearance and the flying wolves which I tossed.

"I'm going to get more, wait a second." I said before retreating back into the forest.

I transformed Adonis into a bow and arrows, enhancing both with [Wind enhancer] and [Lightning enhancer].

'Six torch birds to my east, 73 metres away.'

I knocked back three arrows, preparing another three to launch after and shot them out quickly before dashing off to the where the birds were.

On the ground laid all six torch birds. They looked like pigeons with a variety of red and yellow coloured feathers. The under belly and surface of the wings were coated in a dim flame. The torch birds are about twice the size of a regular everyday pigeon and looked practically harmless, not counting the flames on them.

I picked them all up in a bundle by their feet and ran back to the camp, throwing them in just like the wolves before running off again.

'I wonder how much they want. I don't know how big their appetites are so I'll hunt some deer and rabbits, maybe four rabbits and two deer before going back? That could last us for next meal as well. That's depending on if someone has some way of storing them while we walk. Scarlet probably has one.'

I came walking back with two deer being held in my arms after about 28 minutes of hunting in total of all the animals I collected. I had three wolves, six birds, two deer and five rabbits.

I had gained another 191 EXP from those animals I killed.

"This is a bit much." Mio said, looking up at me.

"Thought so. I didn't know how big of an appetite you all had so I just hunted a few then brought them all back. Even if you can't finish we can just take them with us, does anyone have something to store them with?" I asked.

"It's only natural I have one, I am a teacher after all. I'm assuming you already knew, Kiera?" Scarlet smirked.

"I thought you would." I said, sitting down on the dusty ground beneath me. "Take what you want, eat what you want, leftovers go to Scarlet."

"Okay." Came a collective response.

The food was eaten quickly until everyone was full and felt the need to throw up, leaving two wolves, one deer, three birds and one rabbit leftover.

"I'm so full I think I'm going to puke." Terry said clutching his stomach.

"Hey! Get away from me first, I don't want to be barfed on!" Catherine shouted, scrambling to her feet and jumping away from him.

"Haha, I was only joking, I'm not actually going to thro- *blegh* *cough* *cough* maybe I was actually going to throw up." Terry said on all fours, hand on stomach, puke on the floor.

"Thank the saints I got away in time. That's disgusting!" Catherine said giving Terry a dirty look.

"Hey it's not my fault you challenged me to an eating challenge! I didn't know your stomach led to the abyss! Urgh I feel like I'm about to puke again." Terry got up wobbly and made his way over to Catherine.

"AAAGH~! Get him away, stay back! I said stay back!" Catherine picked up a stick and started swinging it in front of her.

"Heh, they get along well." Iris said next to me while you could hear Catherine's faint screaming in the background as Terry chased Catherine.

"I guess so. They joke around a lot." I replied.

"Thanks for getting the food though how did you manage to find so many, kill them and then come back with them in only half an hour. That's impressive to say the least."

"I find animals almost instinctively and killing them is relatively easy when they don't know you are there. Just hide and once you find a way to kill them cleanly then go in for the kill." I replied, it really was just easy as that.

"I definitely can't find animals instinctively, you've got some crazy good senses." Iris laughed, leaning on her knees she was hugging to her chest while looking at me.

"Yeah, I do. If you train your senses enough I'm sure you could do it to. Make it become second nature."

"I probably could but I'd be nowhere as good as you. You can sense things from so far away it's unbelievable if I didn't already see it first hand."

'Maybe I shouldn't have done that then.'

"Quick warning! We will be walking again in twenty minutes so get ready to leave! Terry stop chasing Catherine, you're going to give her a heart attack and you'll probably throw up again, I don't recommend emptying your stomach right at this moment. Save your energy, we won't be slowing down for either of you." Scarlet shouted.

"Yeah Terry! Stop chasing- AAGH! Didn't you just hear her? you crazy psycho! *whining* stop chasing meeeeee~" Catherine whined while running around.

"Hahaha, it's too funny though. Oh wait hold up. I might actually puke again." Terry said leaning over, placing his hands on his knees.

"Serves you right- eek!" Catherine laughed before Terry threw a stick at her.

"They won't listen, will they?" Scarlet shook her head before sitting down close to the rest of us.

"Where is Adam?" Scarlet asked.

"He is in the forest. 239 metres to our west. He is sitting in a tree carving some wood." I replied.

"That's alright then." Scarlet sighed.

"We should move soon." Mio said, getting up.

"I agree." I followed.

"Hm? We still have a couple minutes left?" Scarlet said.

"From the position of the sun we have about 5 hours at best before dark. I'd like to move as far as we can so we reach the mountain sooner. Including this we also need to set up a camp site so moving sooner is better. Oh and hostile animals have picked up our sent and are heading in our direction, they'll be here in about 20 minutes." I said, dusting off my clothes.

"You should've said that at the start." Iris said also getting up.

"Okay everyone! We are going to be on the move again, get up!" Scarlet shouted.

We all gathered as a group again and continued our way to the north again.
