Chapter 19 - CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES

"HAHAHAHAHA! Come now! You had to have seen this coming. I guess you're wondering, how?" the Furrha asked.

I still couldn't move an inch, so all he got from me was muffled anger. The whole gang regrouped around us to hear what their boss had to say. I saw many turn up with scratches and bite marks around their clothes that almost made me proud. So that arrogant wolf was a leader for a reason.

They still had those hoods of theirs on, despite their many injuries. To my left, the gravity guy appeared, his smile visible through the darkness. I saw no evidence of him using his power yet, I was still suspended in motion. Meaning that if he's not doing this, then...

"By now, I'm guessing you've already figured it out. Well, time is money, and at the moment, we're losing it. Treny, report!"

"Of course, sir. Ultra zone is clear for teleportation. Anytime from now, but a black hole will be passing by very soon, ten minutes at best," gravity guy, aka Treny, answered.

"We can manage in that time. Boys, Alpha one, commence!"

With perfect execution, the pirates immediately moved into action. One guy came up to me, locked me in place in a good knot next to Kira and gaged me, then I was released from the ability. The cage was later fixed by another guy, whom I'm guessing made them.

Murasaki was locked in chains in a much different cage, larger, and much more stronger. Once done, they then began moving the cages closer to the gates, but not too close to be noticed by the security.

Their boss at the front raised one of his hands once they were close enough, and suddenly, a breach appeared. I widened my eyes in shock, which didn't go unnoticed by my guard.

"Everyone has the same reaction when the boss does this. The first and only monster I know of to hack into the teleportation gates and open a breach. Saved us a lot of close calls with that power of hi–"

"Jackson! Don't you dare talk to the merchandise! Best haul we've had with that. Fifteen grade B Diamond coated wolves, a grade A beast, a Demon, an assassin Furrha and finally a male Furrha, as rare as they come. I'll be damned if anyone messes this up!"

The Jackson fellow did as he told. They began lifting the cages, moving them towards the breach. It was then that I knew this was the only chance I had to activate it.

I touched my ring and called for the adamantium spear which immediately appeared in front of me, then I willed it to begin its transformation. It heeded my command and began breaking down into many pieces that were slowly widening and enlarging, each piece attaching itself to my body. Within seconds, I was dressed in an adamantium armor from head to toe.

The armor itself looked like one from medieval times, but much more slimmer and well fitting. It was surprisingly easy to move in, especially the hands where two metal gloves were attached which, had earlier teared my bonds during transformation. The helmet was a little uncomfortable though . I would have stayed there and admired the craft, but time was a luxury I didn't have.

Immediately, I used flash point to buy myself more seconds and removed my gag. Jackson knew all too late what I was going to do, but that didn't stop him for shouting in alarm. I grabbed Kira's ring and quickly searched for the flare. Luckily, they were only few things there, so that wasn't a problem.

Unfortunately, even with the speed I was using, the hoods still managed to recover themselves and match my speed. The two gravity guys were already lifting their hands, but I had already thrown the flare out to the woods. A red blur appeared out of the trees, grabbed the flare, and disappeared just as fast.

"GET THAT WOLF BEFORE IT ESCAPES! Jackson, I'm holding you accountable for this! The ten of you, keep loading up the loot, and can someone please FREEZE THAT FURRHA!" the Boss ordered.

Under their bosses orders, the two gravity weilding ability users tried restricting me with their power, but found that a difficult thing to do with the armor repelling their abiltity.

As long as I was in this form, I'd have to make sure to cause enough chaos to buy as much time as required for Red to shoot the flare.

I raised both hands and two spears suddenly appeared.

"Say hello to my two little friends, oh, and goodbye!" I shouted as I threw them both at the gravity guys. Both aims were true and struck home, right on their legs. They both screamed in pain and dropped down, but I didn't care what happened to them next.

I wasted no time and summoned one more spear, them slashed the cage I was in. The spear passed through it like butter, effectively granting me my freedom. Then I jumped down from it, ready to recieve the many hoods right after kicking Jackson to the ground.

[What's this? You disappear on me then, when you eventually talk, that's what you come up and say?!]

[We will continue this later. What were you saying about a power?]

***

"Droplets of Fear!"

***

[Hey! Incase you haven't noticed, we're on a time limit here!]

[Man! You come in the worst of times. Cancel skill!]

***

Silvery liquid rose from the armor and began forming multiple spears. I saw a red flare to my left rise in all its glory, telling me that Red had done his job. Fortunately, I held the attention of all the hoods so they really didn't care about the flare. Unfortunately, I held the attention of the hoods.

"Adamantium spear?... wait, he can't be one of them, can he? That power, in the right hands, would be devastating. Boys, change of plans. At the cost of your lives, GET ME THAT SPEAR!" the Boss roared and charged towards me. All hoods rushed right behind him, activating their abilities on the way.

As he said, I was still at best an amateur with this power, so I couldn't take them all let alone one. Not forgetting the droplets of fear was my last move. But there was one thing I could still do.

I released all the spears towards my attackers who were quick to defend themselves. The leader used his force field while I saw rocks rise, water, fire and even air shields activated all the same time. It would have stopped the spears head on, if, they were the target.

The spears curved away from them and struck the cages and chains, freeing the fifteen wolves and Murasaki. I used my packs influence and forcefully woke them up and commanded them to escape.

"Even your last move wasn't aimed right, boy. It's such a waste, the spear in your arms. And now, you'll regret ever bn' born!" the Boss growled when he'd finally reached me.

The armor had already dispersed and the spear disappeared to gods know where right after that one powerful skill. The Boss unsheathed his sword once he was within striking distance and slashed towards my neck. I desperately tried raising my arms in a futile attempt to stop it and closed my eyes, waiting for the explosive pain to strike me. That's when I couldn't feel a thing.

"Huh?"

"Well now, Maxy. Seems like you've got yourself into some trouble I see," a calm voice said. I opened my eyes and saw a hand holding onto the sword as if the weight behind it was but a small matter. The owner of the said had and voice was non other than my class teacher, Dyrus Flintheart!

The boss growled before saying, "You think you can stop me from getting what I want, human? You're just a mere te-"

A backslap cut him off before he could finish. The boss was sent flying off into the woods, crashing through the trees till he stopped a good distance away.

"Anyone else want to try the 'mere' teacher?" Flintheart asked in an upbeat attitude. I hoped they would all ran away screaming, but that would be the most un-pirate thing to do. Too bad, they were pirates for a reason. They all immediatly fired all their powerful abilities at once, hoping to pulverize us on the spot.

"Learn something from this, Max," Flintheart said.

He then snapped his fingers and everything suddenly came to a stop. Only I and him were the ones moving. I thought that maybe I was using flashpoint, but Bradley confirmed to me that that wasn't the case. The time stopping was all thanks to Flintheart.

Even faster than the time stop, he disposed of all of the hoods with sharp chops to the back of the head and still had time to neutralize all of their powers fired at us. He snapped his fingers once again, and time returned back to normal. My mouth was still wide in shock due to the speed I had just witnessed.

"How are you that fast?! I'm sure you didn't have a speed ability back in the day!" I began once I got over my shock.

"I'm still the same old guy you remember. Anyways, you got some explaining to do. Let's start with the wolf that told me to come here. Better yet, let's talk about your group. I see two in that cage ,the rest–"

"Safe and sound. The class?"

"All accounted for except your group. Are you okay? I sense a connection between you and those wolves hiding in the trees, afraid to come out,"

"Never been better" I finished and immediately dropped to the ground. The blood pact was finally catching up to me once the adrenaline wore down.

"Max!" Flintheart sounded alarmed as he caught me. But our problems were much more serious than just a little tiredness.

"You....think you can....get rid of me that easily? I'll....show you," the Boss of the group said as he was back on his feet with a bloody face but a cruel smile that signified insanity. He pointed at the bridge which I had completely forgotten about and shot a white beam at it.

"By now, ten minutes must have already passed, right?" he laughed and finally passed out.

"Th....e brid...ge!" I tried warning Flintheart, but he was still reeling in suprise that the leader was still awake. I coughed up blood and tried once more, but couldn't form words.

The bridge began to grow even larger and started sucking everything around. A vision suddenly came to me, and I knew immediately how dangerous the black hole summoned was.

In the vision, a woman with black hair that covered most of her face and a shroud on gave me a creepy smile.

"It's been long since one has done the Blood ritual successfully. I love how you really thought that if you perform it well, you'd escape the consequences. Let me tell you something, no one, and I mean NO one, escapes the consequences. An eye for an eye, as you mortals say it," she finished and raised her hands. Then the vision dissappeared.

I coughed up another good amount of blood but tried to keep my mind clear.

"Murasaki! Grab the girls and escape from here. Red, take Flintheart away from me. Both of you, stop for nobody until you reach the cave," I transmitted to them.

"What about you?" both asked.

"Just do it, NOW!"

They both followed orders by force. Red used his speed and grabbed Flintheart by the collar and sprinted him out before he could protest. Murasaki and another blue wolf came out and took the girls and they too left the premises. I lifted my self painfully off the ground and stared the black hole dead on.

"Alright, you old hag! LET'S DO THIS!" I screamed in anger and charged to my death.
