Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Perspective

These two… boys? I think I mean they seem like boys, but one is kinda… eh? And the other is I think still an infant.

Well no matter, they seem real good especially since one of them isn't part of a clan, an orphan no less! Quite impressive for someone so lowly.

Observing their muscles as they worked in perfect harmony to propel their bodies forward. The sinewy cords in their legs flexed and stretched with each stride, while their abdominals contracted and relaxed in a fluid motion.

I could tell just by this that even with such a lowly background they had an excellent foundation, but wait a minute…

"You still haven't told us where you're from."

"You don't even know my name, I ain't telling you about my family you Byung-Shin." The little boy said, I couldn't help but flinch as the last words hit me like a ton of bricks.

"For someone who hit Emma for unfiltered shit.. you yourself aren't really filtered huh?" The blonde… guy…girl? Bantered with a dry wit, their words dripping with a hint of cynicism.

"Hey at least I know the full context of what I say!" he spoke through gritted teeth, their words sharp and clipped.

"By our ancestors, you two are just…" I'd say but before I could finish…

The Blonde Haired asked. "Are we not gonna address the kids behind us?"

I and the small boy would tilt as we looked back, I saw my fellow schoolmates sprawled upon the ground and some others running while drenched in sweat heavy in breath.

With that…sight…we stopped, seeing us halt, the others stopped gleel and then collapsed right next to the ones laid out on the floor.

"Uh ma'am…?" I turned to the dark brown woman, seeing as she just watched them with a smile I sweat a bit.

"Hm? Yes Yong?" She answered as she turned to me.

"So those kids…."

"Oh don't worry! you'll get used to it hehe" She said with an unfaltering smile, with a cute little giggle.

"W…wha?" I questioned but before I could dive deeper, Blondie just put his palm on my shoulder, turning to them, he'd just shake his head and continued to run with the boy.

I looked at the smiling teacher and the crumbled students, I'd just follow the two of them.

As the night started to set in, Eui travelled through the school, walking to the gates as she saw her brother staring at his phone scowling.

"Who's dying today?" She joked as she stood next to him.

"Very funny…Phúc Cổ" He responded sighing.

"The head of the Awakened Alchemists? Maaan, guess their greed got too big for them again." She said chuckling as a black armoured limousine arrived in front of them.

"They really are Mi-Chin-Sae-Ggi." He said as he entered the vehicle with Eui following suit.

"How many times have you called them a bitch now?" She said as both sat down.

"At least I haven't put down this one yet." He said as he started to play some videos on his phone.

"Yeah they'll probably find it hard to find a new head." She said laughing.

He sighed once more before he opened the window to the front row. "Oi driver shield on"

Simply nodding, they snapped their fingers, as its sound echoed a red mystical barrier emerged from within the walls of the vehicle.

She tilted her head as he quickly pulled them down from their head as an explosion hit the barrier.

"Fucking!... not again." She sighed as their vehicle shook from the blast.

"Stay in here." He ordered as he stood up cracking his neck.

"The arm is functional, so I'll fight with you this time." She said as she started to stand while taking out something out of her bag, but before she could do anything Haneul pushed her back to her seat.

"I need to let out some steam." He said as he leisurely opened the door.

"Sir shall I call the clean up now?" The driver asked the young master.

"Yeah, get the A team." He answerer, fully stepping outside at the pure dark night time streets.

"55 this time…man you are getting lazy, aren't ya Shangti?" He mocked as he turned his head towards the right.

With the nonchalant turn of his head, a youthful Chinese warrior emerged from the darkness, clad in lightweight armour adorned with glowing purple and red markings that danced along his outstretched hand. His attire, a traditional Chinese dress shirt, flowed elegantly towards his legs, separated from the sides at his waist, and embellished with golden trims and armour plates bearing the insignia of a red scorpion bull, crawling along his arm.

His skin, as flawless as a newborn's, glowed in the moonlight, while his short, yet perfectly proportioned frame boasted a smooth waistline and thick, muscular thighs. His pastel white locks cascaded gracefully in the night's breeze, while his piercing red eyes shimmered like rubies under the lunar glow.

"I'll make sure you pay this time." The man scowled as 54 pairs of eyes appeared in the darkness.

"Look just because my dad got your guildmaster killed doesn't mean you can keep taking it out on me." He said as he lackadaisically stretches.

"Our guildmaster was MY mother you CÀO SHA BĪ!" He exclaimed with a thunderous roar as he crossed his arms diagonally on top of each other, the ethereal glyphs adorning his palms beginning to multiply, morphing into spheres of crackling electricity with each passing moment.

With a fierce determination, he unleashed a potent wave of electricity that crackled and surged through the air. As he uncrossed his arms, the balls of pure energy erupted forth, hurtling toward Haneul with such velocity and heat that it could reduce even the strongest of materials to molten slag.

The air sizzled and crackled with the sheer power of the bolts as they raced across the street. The surroundings could feel the intense heat of the energy as it bore down on him, but Hanuel wore a smile as he saw it.

"My, oh my, did you kiss your mother with that mouth." He laughed as he started to glow with an aurora hazed aura.

With the balls of lightning closing in ominously, all fifty four pairs of eyes emerged from the shadows of their hiding places, revealing the other members of the guild. As Haneul's small frame stood alone against the onslaught, swords, halberds, arrows and magic bullets were drawn and fired at him in unison.

As the projectiles closed in on him, Haneul vanished from sight, the balls of lightning bursting like exploding balloons. The members of the guild turned to face the sudden disappearance, but it was too late.

As I blinked once, the scene that I had seen gave me a feeling of terror much more potent than when the Dragon of Mt. Hua's blade pierced my chest.

I saw brother Ming's arm sliced off as his chest burst with a hole going through it, auntie Hei had her upper body become nothing more than a fountain of guts and blood…oh so much blood.

And little Yu Zhi…why did I bring him..oh why I wondered as a single blur crossed through the field of gore in front of me.

I froze with only enough energy to look to my sides, Uncle Zheng was on his knees puking at the site and sister Xingxing was frozen as I was, her body trembling in fear as the rest of the remaining members did not dare move.

'Why did I bring everyone here….why was I here?...' I wondered as I looked up to the sky and saw the moon at its highest peak.

'Right…I was here to avenge my mother…I am here to avenge Yue Shangti not just as her right hand…but as her son…' I firmed and clenched my hands into fist as they glowed with markings.

'As her son…Shiguang Shangti!' I said as I closed my eyes and then roared.

"SHOW YOURSELF! THIS WILL BE A BATTLE BETWEEN YOU AND ME!" I roared to the top of my lungs, my eyes wide with the texture of lightning.

As my voice echoed, the air started to clear and the screams of my people grew quiet, the moon shone its light to illuminate the streets.

The few members that were still alive looked upon me as I breathed heavily, I stood tall trying not to quake…until I heard a voice…

"Hey hey hey…" It was the voice of a child that was nothing more than 5 years old uttered…

"Chillax…" coming from right above me…

"I'm right here hehe…" He said with a laugh that
should have been produced by an innocent little child, but as I looked above my head I knew in all truths that this was simply horror.

I would turn to my members…no…my family, exclaiming like a gasp…"Retreat!—"

I tried to say as the child that was right on top of my head swung his leg back and kicked my face with foot shining with an aura mixing with blues to purples to reds of no harmony.

I felt my nose slowly break as the blood started to rush out of my head, my body was soon lifted from its places and sent flying…crashing into a tree.

As I coughed out the blood rushing out from my insides, with my heavy eyes I saw the child simply completing the flip that was caused by the kick.

And before I passed to unconsciousness I saw him smiling in satisfaction…

'W-what just happened…' I thought to myself, my breath heavy and sweat slowly travelling down my forehead to my cheek and all the way to my chin dripping to the floor.

We may have been just C to B Ranks, yes…but there were so many of us, each firing, I even used a specially manufactured automatic rifle…

And yet all I saw was OUR blood and innards sprawled everywhere like a sick art piece, the captain…I don't even know if he's still breathing.

And my son…Yu Zhi…by the name of Apollo…I can't even properly depict it in my own head, I gritted my teeth as I shakily raised my rifle to the head of the child that killed my kin.

The child looked at me slowly with a bright smile, he simply chuckled. "Come on now…follow orders."

Those 5 words sent a shiver down my spine, I started to unconsciously put away my rifle from just that…I'm just pathetic aren't I?...

I gulped whilst my sweat trickled down as I closed my eyes, I would bite my tongue and shout with all my might. "EVERYONE RETREAT NOW! I'LL RECOVER SHIGUANG!"

My irises edged around as it travelled through my eyes whilst my guild members shook, they gulped down their paralysis and quickly stood up and ran.

I breathed heavily as I lifted my foot up from the ground I started focusing my Mana onto it whilst I heard the signature ding of the system, activating my [Single Burst] Skill as my foot hit the ground I would dart with a single step to the direction of the child.

As the ground beneath me broke from the skill I soon reached the child…and passed by him and arrived at the unconscious body of our leader.

Picking up the body of the captain as quickly as I could, and putting him onto my shoulders, I'd use my skill once more…flying off to the directions of the rest of my guildmates…escaping…

I didn't look back even once…

The window of the limousine would soon go down as Eui asked her brother. "Are you done?"

"Just about, clean up crew coming?" Haneul asked as he walked back to the limousine.

"Yes young master, though they are expecting extra pay tonight." The driver responded as he entered the limousine.

"Oh, alright." He responded mundanely as he lifted his shoulder upon and stretched, laying down on the seats.

"So how are you gonna deal with Phúc?" She questioned as she fidgeted with a porcelain white mechanical yet smooth arm that seemed at least wearable like a glove while looking straight out of a science fiction series.

"I'm just gonna say, the problem will disappear right after today." He answered yawning.

"Oh poor guy—" She commented but Haneul shushed her as he heard a ping from his phone.

"The new dossiers are out, so shut it." He ordered as he opened his phone, opening the site as he started to intently watch the video.

She sighed as she rested her head onto the window as it drove to their home.
