Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - The Starting Point

As the effulgence of the colossal celestial orb of our solar system suffused the globe, the edifice for education soared in eminence - a grand structure wrought of metallic and stony materials that exuded a palpable gravitas with its steely-grey visage. The verdant foliage of the surrounding terrain, with lofty trees bedecked in a vivid array of hues that seemed to scrape the very heavens, was dotted with innumerable structures gleaming in a resplendent pearlescent sheen, holding a place of pride amidst the majestic landscape.

As the siblings traversed the gateway, they parted ways, with Hanuel striding towards a structure of metallic and marble construction. Despite being comparatively diminutive in contrast to its grander counterparts, the building exuded an aura of undeniable allure, its modest proportions casting an imposing shadow to the uninitiated observer beyond the campus walls, rendering it a veritable peak in a landscape of architectural grandeur.

As Haneul Seungcheon walked through the halls of the structure as he entered it, he simply gave out a profuse yawn as he stretched whilst he looked at an image within his phone with an indifferent yet positive grin on his face.

As Haneul continued his walk through the halls, he arrived in front of a room. The entrance had a door large of wolfram while it had been fashioned akin to the grandiose wooden ingresses of ancient cathedrals, albeit expertly etched into the metallic material. Its etches depicted creatures of ol' and of myth and symbols of ancients but within this picturesque collage were the simple words…{Grade 2 Sector A}.

He breathed out as he slowly opened the wolfram door, leaning slightly forward putting his head in a bit to observe his soon to be classmates. His eyes became a bit apathetic as he saw the children, he'd note most of them were a bit lacklustre as his eyes travelled around the class. To the right there were at least two individuals a crimson haired boy and a black haired girl that were a bit decent, but as his gaze slowly turned to the left his eyes gained colour.

'A blond martial artist and azure haired soon to be awakener with…potential.' He thought with a hint of fascination.

As the teacher stood at the front of the class they soon noticed Haneul by the door, and turned their head to the child.

"Well at least we will only need to introduce one new kid." They commented as they acknowledged his existence.

As Haneul noticed the instructor turn to him, he started walking into the room and to the front by the teacher. "Hello, my name is Haneul. Don't bother me, I don't bother you!"

As the class listened to his introduction they
sighed out loud with a tired expression, and with their reaction Haneul simply just started to walk to an empty seat to the left side of the classroom.

A brunette girl extend their leg between the seats as he walked, trying to trip him, but he just stepped on the foot and continued to walk to a free seat next to the blue haired girl.

As he sat next to her, the girl turned to the 5 year old young boy. "Awww….For a kid, you seem to have a tough guy personality!" She said giggling as she smiled widely.

Haneul gave her a passing glance before ignoring the girl and simply slammed his face on his desk with a thud, laying his head upon it as he closed his eyes yet lazily tried not to fall asleep.

"Well then I guess a kid is still a kid heh." She said, chuckling.

The blonde martial artist stared at Haneul and sighed deeply as the teacher started the first class.

"Alright all of you should know me so I'm just gonna say what you'll do this year." They said as they sorted through papers, coughing to themselves.

"Your subjects will just be the standard ones' for now, but your P.E. class will be replaced to prepare the Awakeners for Mana and the Martial Artists will be taught Standard Military Techniques." The Educator said in a bored tone with the students reacting in a face full of anticipation, contrarily Haneul simply yawned rubbing the back of his ear while the blonde martial artist simply gave a single nod of interest.

As my brother started his class, I slowly walked through the halls of the middle school for mine.

Took some time because of…well, how big this place was, but eventually I turned to find a door that was even more grandiose than the one my brother should have been witnessing right now, with the words {Grade 8 Sector C} written on it instead.

Breathing deeply, I heard the bustling of my class. 'The wait will finally be over. I just need to deal with these teens…I got this.'

Opening the door and taking a step inside, the room became silent, the middle schoolers turning their heads towards me.

"Oh heya, Eui, so you did come back this year huh" A milk haired girl said as she leaned on her own seat.

"Yes I did Kei." I responded while walking through the class and sitting down on my desk.

"So will you be taking the title of second best this semester as well?" Kei said, chuckling a bit.

"Indeed." Half-heartedly I responded, I mean of course I was…he arrived this year after all...

"Eh?" Kei blurted with a confused face.

As Kei reacted to me, a strawberry blonde woman wearing a simple tracksuit that could not hide her intensive muscular figure and her splendid curvature walked into the class and slammed her palm on the podium on the front of the class loudly.

"Oi you nitwits! Since most of you have known each other since 1st grade there's no need for extra chit-chat at the start of the day!" The woman growled at them with a Norwegian Accent, the students sweated as an even deeper silence came upon the room with the students quickly taking to their seats.

She sighed "In any case, there'll be a new punk joining us this year. He was part of the lower classes and recently became a hot-shot. But that does not mean I'll take any crap for y'all making 'em cry because of it. Talking with his folks is shit!" She said it like a roar and particularly sent a death glare to Kei.

Kei just awkwardly tried to avoid the gaze as the new student walked into the classroom and next to the lecturer, whilst I gave a faint grin.

The new student- captain, was a snow haired young man with cyan eyes and fair unblemished skin, who wore a bright smile as they bowed to the rest of the class.

"I greet my new class! My name is Hyun Pak, but you may all call me by my given name if you wish!" He said in his classic innocent tone while subtly scanned the students.

Quietly I chuckle in my head. 'Ah! still as two-faced as ever.'

As the Capt. scanned the room, his eyes arrived at Eui. 'Great…everything is in motion, exactly like in the plot…I should start by befriending her.'

"Hey New punk your seat is with—" The instructor paused as she looked at the paper in her hand intensely.

She sighed deeply and looked at Hyun. "You got a choice between two silver spoons, an elitist bitch or an edgy one, choose your poison." The Teacher grumbled in a tired angry manner.

I smiled as Hyun looked at Kei and me. 'Hm Kei does have a calmer area, but her attitude against will only hinder me and the teacher doesn't seem to like her. So…'

He uses an innocent awkward smile. "Well ehe… how about you decide for me Teach?..."

"Ugh fine kid…" She'd respond as she looked at the two seats beside each of us.

"Hmm…you go with the edgy one," She gave the answer in her tired voice.

"Right! thank you Ma'am!" He exclaimed as he walked between his classmates and sat next to me.

He'd extend his hand as he greeted me, with his faultless smile. "Nice to meet you! might I ask for your name?"

Chuckling internally at the familiar sight, I took his hand. "Well, new kid, names Eui-" Only saying my first name but mouthing my surname to him.

The Captain froze in surprise as he noticed my actions. 'Wait aren't Seungcheon supposed to hide their family origin until they go pro?'

With narrow eyes I continued with a smile."I know, right? What a lavish name my parents gave me, heh"

He gulped trying to maintain his smile. "Yeah, but doesn't that just mean they're proud of you a lot,"

"Hmmm…I guess you're right…well in any case we should focus on the start of the class." I pointed out.

"Damn right! So I don't want to hear a single word out of you all! You got it!" The Teacher screamed at them as she heard my response, the class froze once more as she shouted and nodded.

"Well then let's start this with the discussion of—" She started saying the new agendas of this year and right after started discussing the actual class.

Haneul had most seemingly slept through the class as he silently laid his head on his desk whilst loudly and profusely snoring.

"Now that is all, feel free to explore the school for the rest of the day with that one new kid." Their Educator said without a care as they left.

"Now bye you goddamn devils!" They continued as they ran off.

"Welp.....the last one to the store is a Yogoe!" The Brunette shouted as she rushed out, The rest of the students shouted and laughed while running after her.

After the students had run out, only Haneul, The Blue Haired Awakener and The Blonde Martial Artist would be the only ones remaining in the classroom.

An awkward silence would fall in the class, the only noise being the snoring of Haneul. The Blond one would stand up and approach Haneul's desk as he smacked the boy over the head into his desk with a slam.

"Ow! $%@$@%$$@%#$@^#/@%$^@" He exclaimed profanity over profanity while he grabbed his head, as The Azure Girl would chuckle right beside Haneul.

"What a badmouth." Blondie said in a ridiculing tone.

"What's your problem you androgynous b#tch!" Haneul shouted as he rubbed his head.

"Calm down Han. Wynn is just like that" The Blue Haired would say giggling.

"First of all I'm not *Han* I'm Haneul." He would say with his frustrated face and a retorting tone.

"Oho sorry I forgot how this country treats names." She said smiling with a sneaking smile.

"Who even are you two?" Haneul said as he rubbed his forehead.

"Oh! I'm Emma Park, the Premiere Awakener!" She'd respond proudly.

"I am Wynn Espino, currently the strongest of our grade." The Androgynous Martial Artists responded in a Venezuelan accent with an expressionless face.

"Hm two foreigners? Man the upperclassmen must have been a good amount mad." Haneul said as he started to stretch.

"Oh my! How did you know!" Emma asked gigglingly.

"We have a very big ego for our country." Haneul said nonchalantly.

"That is certainly proven." Wynn said as they took a seat.

"Mhm! It's actually quite a surprise that a 5 year old is the most respectable person we've met so far!" Emma exclaimed as she laughed.

"Mhm…in any case…looks like the class is finally over, right?" Haneul said as his eyes would examine the empty room.

"Yup it's not just class but the day! It is the first day after all! Ehe!" Emma would say happily.

"Speaking of let's go home Emma, your sister did say we can use her practice room today, remember?" Wynn said as they stood up.

"Aw come on Wynn! We should at least have a free day." Emma would respond with a pout on her face.

"Remember we need to stay number 1, I'll just see you at your house." Wynn said as they left.

"Well I should follow them" Emma said as she sighed.

"See you tomorrow kid without a last name!" She exclaimed as she quickly followed Wynn.

"Fuu…what personalities…well they'll probably be the new heads once they go pro so who cares?" Haneul noted as he stood up and left the class.

As he walked through the school halls, his eyes dilated as he analysed his surroundings. 'Hmm, 33 potential awakeners with at least 10 with mana seeping out…' Haneul noted as he kept walking, eventually finding the path between Primary and Middle School.

"Hm, should I visit noona already? Hmmm…I mean I guess why not…" Haneul said as he started to walk into the Middle School section.

The Middle Schoolers would look at Haneul, a perplexed expression on their faces. A Middle School Awakener would approach him. "Hey there kid…are you lost?"

"I'm looking for my Noona."

"Oh, what is their name?" The Middle Schooler asked as he tilted his head.

"Eui, Eui Sung." He'd respond without a tone.

"Oh Eui! Just follow me kid." The Middle Schooler exclaimed as they walked to her class, Haneul would follow right behind them.

As they walked through the halls they'd arrived at the opened classroom, the student knocked on the class door while he said. "Greetings Miss, someone is looking for Eui Sung-nim."

"Hm? What for?" The Teacher replied as she scowled at her students, The Middle Schooler would turn his finger down and pointed at Haneul.

"What? Is she that kid's sister?" She commented.

"I am." Haneul responded neutrally.

"Oh…Well…Eui!" She shouted.

Eui stood up as she was called for "Yes Ma'am?"

"Your brother is here!" The Teacher exclaimed.

"Hm?" She looked over at the door as Haneul would wave at her.

"Oh bother…ahem I'll be back once I talk to him." Eui
said as she walked to Haneul.

"Right right and you kid go back to your class." The teacher said as she scowled.

"Right Ma'am!" The middle schooler would say as he walked off while Eui grabbed Haneul walking out.

"Hm only two are notably impressive." Hanuel would say nonchalantly.

"Yeah my generation was quite unfortunate, So what do you want?" Eui asked as they stopped in a secluded part of the hall.

"I was just quite bored because we only had an introductory class noona." He responded.

Eui sighed as she commented. "I guess no matter how articulate you are, you're still a kid."

"Yup… is there a place with sinigang nearby?" He would ask with an excited smile.

"Barely anyone would even know what that is." Eui responded as Haneul would frown and sigh.

"So meet anyone interesting?" She asked as she looked at him intently, He would look unimpressed and respond. "A androgynous blonde and a blue haired girl."

'Hmmm so he did meet the soul demon and the underworld guardian...great nothing has changed yet' She thought to herself.

"This school is a bit disappointing for the number 1 farm." Haneul sighed as he cracked his neck.

"Yeah yeah in any case just go home and train." Eui said dismissively.

"Y'know I don't need that." Haneul would say matter of factly.

Eui sighed and looked at him sternly. "Look, just do it or you're gonna give mom and dad a heart attack in the future."

"So go straight to our gymnasium." She said as she walked away.

Haneul sighs as he stares at her walking off. "At least let me enjoy life before I try to take revenge, hm but I wonder who that foreign looking boy next to her was, observing him feels a bit irking or something." He said as he walked out to the gates of the school.

The brunette girl would be walking around with her friends chatting with them as she saw the small boy at the gates.

"Oh my isn't that the baby who dared to step on my foot." She said snickering.

"Aw come on Ari Bu he's just an infant ehe." A girl in her group would say chuckling.

"You're right that's why we should teach him early how the world works." She said, smirking as she slowly approached him.

Ari smacked Haneul over the head to get his attention. "Hey punk let this Noona teach you some manners—."

In a sudden moment she would collapse. "W wha—"

"Shut it before I used a lethal point on you." Haneul would say in a casual voice.

Ari started crying in a panic, the children around them looked at them in confusion and a bit of fear of what's going on.

"What did you do to Ari B—!" A friend of Ari tried to exclaim while they charged at him before they would too collapse.

Haneul sighed loudly. "Kids are always so confrontational." He said as he walked off.

The two collapsed children would try to wriggle as they cried loudly, alerting the adults, making them rush to the children.
