At the secluded outskirts of one of the suburbs of New York City, a series of buildings, old and unused, was there.
It's the abandoned factory, which was previously used as a hideout by organ harvesters, whom Kylian wiped out weeks ago. That day had been a very dangerous one. If people were living nearby, they would be frightened by the bangs that resonated from the factory like the end of the world is starting from there.
That day, Aro had found Kylian and struck him with an arrow from his Mount Destroyer in the shape of a bow. The hit had caused Kylian a grave wound as even his heart was scorched. But thanks to Sarai and Heald, Kylian was rescued before the hunter caused further damage.
That day, there was a death feeling in the air, even for a kilometer around the factory. Death could smell and any living soul would feel it, looming, hovering in the air. The dread that coursed through the air that day made crickets run and frogs to leap for miles before feeling safe.
That day, even the spiders swinging around the nukes of the factory had to vanish from the entire vicinity.
Now, that same dread that flew in the air, that same death feeling that made bones chill and made hairs stand on edge, that same feeling of doom one would feel if one stays close to the place, is all present again.
Death loomed in the air.
Bangs and mini explosions could be heard from outside the factory.
At the edge of the dozens of buildings and structures, it's minimal. But at the largest hall at the central part of the entire factory, it's horrific and haunting.
Even the surroundings were trembling and shaking from the bangs. The dirts and cocoons hanging around shook and shifted place, walls reverberated and the winds around was chaotic.
Everything within the range of hundred meters around the central hall screamed and trembled to be saved, if there's salvation. Everything was chaotic.
But it's just the beginning.
Inside the central hall, on the very first floor, four candles lit the four corners. Even though the lighting isn't enough, one would still be able to see his or her feets.
Right at the center of the hall, there is Black circle that emitted waves of magical energy. And just outside the circle was a lady. Her Auburn hair shook every time her body trembled from shock as she anxiously watched whatever was in the Black circle. In the Black circle, all you would see is blur. Images flashing around. And everywhere the images appear, the air trembled.
The images are two people, vampires actually. One is a half Primordial born vampire less than three hundred years old. Young, but desperate to make things right. Not that, anyone is forcing him to make things right, but he just can't seem move on. Not with the fact that the person he's currently battling with is the one responsible for his mother's death.
The other vampire is a Primordial vampire, over a thousand years old. A member of the powerful Tribunal elders, yet, always go against his family. All for love.
For love, he fought a foe powerful that he is, sustaining a wound on his very existence, despite later succeeding with killing the foe. The wound on his exstence costs him a price every three centuries. A sacrifice to live and thrive for more years. A huge price to pay. Yet, he didn't get the love. And now the child of the very woman he's suffering because of, is trying to stop him from doing what he needs to do to live and thrive more, and even wants to kill him for revenge.
Adrian and Akotal engaged in a close combat, launching powerful attacks at each other, with Akotal's being the most while Adrian struggled to dodge and remain focussed.
The more the fight prolonged, the more Akotal became vexed, and the more his ferocity grew.
Adrian carried on with his defensive stance, his eyes dilating with every increase in ferocity of the Primordial before him. His spine chilled and his heart clenched with wariness. Even though he tried to cloak it, fear coursed through his eyes and he couldn't help but brace himself for each of Akotal's attacks like it's the first and the last. His eyes twirled and scanned, calculating every move and action he's going to take. He couldn't be more careless, a second slack is all it's going to take and he would lose the fight to Akotal.
And losing is the last thing he wants. In fact, losing is not what he needs right now, because if he loses, he will not only be risking his life, but also Christa, who is standing just outside the Black Sand barrier with her eyes wide and her hands clutching the helm of her dress.
He loses and that's the end.
Akotal kicked his right leg forward. Adrian rolled on his feet, making the leg whoosh past him then punched Akotal in the chest.
The punch pushed Akotal back a meter.
The eyes of the Primordial vampire burned with anger at this. Never in his over a thousand years has there been anything like this. He was unchallenged. He was undefeated. He was… indomitable. Even when he was at his weakest, not like he always had a time to weakness tho, but even then, he wasn't this beaten.
And it's not even a Primordial vampire like him, an ordinary true born vampire who's not even up to three hundreds years yet. Akotal felt his veins burned because of this. He felt pure anger, not from the fact that Adrian had taunted him so much already, but because, even after taunting him by saying he never loved Ava, he's still bested by Adrian.
Graaaaa!
But that anger soon turned into overwhelming rage as he lunged at Adrian. His eyes were blazing and slitted. His fists were so clenched that the air around it tensed with pressure. His body became a blur.
Bang!
Akotal stomped the floor, breaking the spot into pieces as debris bursted and flew.
Adrian paused, his eyes dilating due to the sudden increase in speed of the Primordial before him.
Bending, thus dodging Akotal's powerful punch, Adrian made to twist back and retaliate with his own packed punch. Unknown to him, Akotal had used his telekinesis to gain control of the debris from the spot he shattered earlier.
Adrian didn't even see it coming when over over dozen fingertip-sized stones pierced his back.
His face contorted in pain and he barely had time to feel the pain in his back when a powerful punch slammed at his face.
Bang!
Adrian crashed on the ground, shattering the floor and the blood that spurted out of his mouth stained the broken floor in red.
Christa opened his mouth and covered it with her palms, her eyes widened and glistening with shock and fear.
Adrian gasped for breath. His eyes are reddening, not from his supernatural vampire red eyes. Not from the punch. It was caused by a piece of stone that is a few inches from his heart. It is even touching the sides of his heart. Anytime he moves an inch, it grazes his heart by two.
However, Akotal didn't even stop for a moment as he walked over to Adrian and grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground.
This caused the stone grazing Adrian's heart to edge closer to the fragile organ and scratch it even more, making him gasp. Mouthfuls of blood spurted out of Adrian's lips and veins bulged on his forehead as he struggled with the little stones that if care is not taken, might destroy his heart.
If it destroys his heart, he's dead.
"You are a fool, just like your father." Akotal muttered and BASH! He punched Adrian's face so much that his jaw dislocated.
Akotal couldn't even mind the force that he used to strike Adrian and it caused his hand to slip and Adrian fell on the ground, gasping with widened red eyes.
Christa couldn't bear the sight anymore, her eyes were getting watery as she shouted. "What is happening to you, Adrian?"
Akotal grinned and stalked Adrian as he looked up at Christa. "You want to know what's happening to him, come in here. Then, I will show it all to you."
"D- don't!" Adrian struggled to say and it backfired as he coughed hard, spurting out more blood in the process.
"Then, you will watch him die, love." Akotal grinned with a dark promise. He squatted before Adrian and grabbed his neck. "He thought you could beat me alone. Well, he's mistaken and now, he dies alone."
Adrian groaned in immense pain as Akotal pulled him by his neck, making the stone stuck near his heart to move, stinging him like a hot iron wound to a flesh. His face was red with pain and mucus flowed from his nostrils. Yet, he struggled to say. "N- no, you are mistaken."
Akotal stopped and his eyes flashed with confusion.
Adrian grinned. His voice couldn't be more weak as he began. "Remember… w- when, I s- said ★ cough★ I'm in c- charge here?"
Akotal stopped. One of his brows furrowed, and his attention piqued.
All of a sudden, a force ripped through the air and danced around Akotal. He could feel it and the danger that it presented to him. His eyes trembled and in a haste, he let go of Adrian's neck and moved back but it was too late.
Crack!
Akotal right arm suddenly bent backwards, his knee cap bashed in and a horrific holler erupted from his lungs. His stance broke and he staggered backwards.
Adrian quickly sat upright and used his left hand to reach into his back. With his claws, he pulled out the stones stuck in his back, one after the other.
Soon, he had removed it all, but it remained the one near his heart.
By now, Akotal had respawned from his broken bones. His eyes burned with fury as he bellowed. "You are not alone here?!"
"I'm afraid, I shouldn't tell you but I will." Adrian grinned, a winced crossed his eyes as the stones near his heart tickled the soft blood pump. "I. Am. Not. Alone. Here."
Akotal gritted his dentition and made to approach Adrian with his hands clenched into a powerful punch that would definitely crush a skull with a hit.
Adrian, instead of being frightened by this, curled his lips and grinned at the Primordial.
Akotal's movement had a hint of hesitation at this. His superior senses tried to catch something fishy as his sixth sense screamed danger. His heart banged and his veins burned with rage. How can a vampire that's not even a Primordial make him feel danger? Like what could this son of Caius' have that could be making him feel danger?
Akotal grunted. His fists clenched and he made to take a step forward. But he paused. Just at a last second, his eyes trembled and he looked upward.
Behold a huge sword with a blade so broad and large that it's the size of an average human thigh plummeted down from above, heading down towards Akotal.
He couldn't even move away from it when the large sword plunged deep into his chest.
The blade was so long that after plunging deep into Akotal's chest, it came through behind his back, shattering his spinal cord and plunged into the ground, stuck in it.
Akotal shrieked in pain and his face turned white pale. The scream was so loud that it would easily be heard from even a mile away.
Adrian grinned.
Adrian flexed his claws as his grin grew wider. This is the chance he had been waiting for. "Now, who is so dead, old man?"
