As they entered the city, they were immediately struck by the eerie silence that hung in the air. The buildings stood tall, but their windows were shattered, and their walls were covered in vines and moss. The streets were empty, except for the occasional stray cat or rat.
"Wow, this is creepy," Stacy murmured, clutching her bag tightly.
"It's like a ghost town," Emily agreed, gazing out the window at the desolate cityscape.
Souta drove slowly, scanning their surroundings for any signs of danger. They had learned to be cautious, especially in cities, as the undead often congregated in urban areas.
Suddenly, a loud screech broke the silence. They all jumped, and Nana reached for her gun. But it was only the sound of a rusty metal gate swinging in the wind.
"Let's keep moving," Yuki said, putting the car in gear.
As they drove deeper into the city, they encountered more signs of life. Burned-out cars and abandoned stores hinted at the chaos that had engulfed the city. The buildings became taller and more elaborate, and soon, they found themselves in the heart of the city's business district.
"This is where the richest people used to work," Stacy commented, her eyes scanning the skyscrapers.
"It's hard to believe that all of this was abandoned," Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Suddenly, Souta slammed on the brakes, causing everyone to jolt forward. In front of them was a massive horde of zombies, stumbling towards them.
"Everybody, brace yourselves!" Souta shouted, shifting into reverse.
The group frantically tried to defend themselves, firing their weapons and swinging their melee weapons at the encroaching undead.
all of them panicked, except for Yuki, who kept her calm as she fired her rifle, which also went to Albert meanwhile Souta... is laughing
"HAHAHAHAH!" he's laughing as they were being chased by horde of zombies
"Don't just laugh there! do something!" Nana shouted
"There is no point in wasting my energy to these petty zombies." Souta replied
Souta quickly reversed down the street. The zombies chased after them, their moans filling the air.
As they escaped the horde and drove out of the city, they were all silent, each lost in their own thoughts. The city had been a sobering reminder of the danger that still lurked in the world, but it had also given them a glimpse of what life was like before the apocalypse.
As they are all catching their breath, "Are you satisfied now, dear princess?" Nana tease Stacy
"What are you emplying here? I don't know anything about there being a massive horde in the city," Stacy replied angrily
"And here I thought you were smart, it's a goddamn city, thousands of people live there, why is it surprising that there is a massive horde of zombies we might encounter?" Nana said
while the two are arguing, Emily is trying to calm them down but can't even say a single word because of nervousness.
"What!? then is it my fault!? why are you blaming this all to me!?" Stacy angrily said
"Now, now, calm down you two. No one is at fault here," Albert said
"Albert is right. Arguing about something that have already been done is meaningless," Yuki said with a cold tone
"Haha, you two come down the vehicle and help us prepare the tents. It's about to get dark, " Souta said
"Ts, I'll let this slide for now," Nana said and came out of the vehicle to help Souta and Yuki, "You-!" Angrily as she can, Stacy was stopped by Emily before she can say anything.
"Let's forget about that, shall we?" Emily said with a bright smile on her face, Stacy hugged her. "she is lucky I have you, hmp." Stacy said
They finished preparing the tents and started cooking for their dinner. Everything went well for the evening and continued their journey the next morning.
