After pulling his lips from Merry's, Max kissed her eyes to console her.
"Then,what made you cry dear?" Max asked with full effort to keep his voice soft to her ears.
"It's j-just..h-how I a-am Max... Crying everytime...I am s-sorry.."
Merry told while sniffling and getting more swapped up by her emotions.She tried to hold her tears and rubbed her eyes roughly to stop her tears.
Max got nervous as he didn't know how to comfort her.
Max suddenly hugged Merry and started petting her hair.
"Merry? I don't want you to try hiding your tears.. crying doesn't mean a person is weak it means you are alive and you have feelings..people who have no feelings are assumed to be dead.", Max said it with full of fondness as he felt helpless to see her breaking down like this.
Max rubbed her back gently as Merry was still sniffling.
"Cry yourself out dear, but don't weigh your mind with emotions.." Max said it while tightened his hug and held Merry's head and put her head on his chest and wrapped his arms around her to make her comfortable.
Merry could feel his heartbeats , she felt a real comfort which she had never felt.
Actually, Merry never got a proper emotional support from her parents as her mother Jenny Masin's wife, left them and went to her mother's house when Merry was only 7 years old.
Merry's mother Jenny didn't only have a poor health but she was also a depression patient.Jenny was expecting twins but unfortunately the male child was born dead.
Jenny went in depression and couldn't give proper love and care to Marry. She loved Merry but when people talked about her lost son, she couldn't stand that pain.
Merry wasn't welcomed properly by her parents because of losing the male heir , everyone talked that it would had been better if she were a man.
Even one day, when Jenny got angry on Merry when Merry cried because her so-called relatives laughed at her stuttering.
Jenny said to Merry , "They were right, you are a shame to our family's reputation and you should try hard to get better."
"B-But mother, I don't do this i-intentionally..it happens w-when I g-get nervous.." ,Merry said to her mother while sobbing ,
"Oh! enough of your excuses, I am tired of you Merry! It would have been much more better if you had died instead of my son.." said Jenny angrily. Masin slapped Jenny hardly as he heard her words when he entered the room.
"How can you say this to our child?!" asked Masin.
"What did I say wrong? I am tired of everyone talking about our bad luck that we lost our son.", said Jenny loudly.
"It doesn't give you right to treat our daughter like this. I am so thankful that I got a daughter like her and do you know what, we are not capable of being a good parent for her at first place." ,said Masin with lot of disappointment.
" If I am a bad mother, then keep your daughter, I don't want anyone of you.", said Jenny agressively.
Jenny left Masin and Merry without any hesitation.Merry begged her to stay , but she didn't hear as she wasn't her child. Masin tried too to stop Jenny but as the doctor said Jenny was not able to forget her child and she even found Merry as a burden since Jenny wanted a son from starting.
Masin knew that Jenny's love for Merry faded a long time ago, but he didn't know how to tell Merry that the mother she loved the most didn't care about her much.
After that day, Masin raised Merry alone. He tried his best but couldn't give her the complete mother's love and care as he had always been occupied with work.
Jenny used to come and visit Merry after long times.
Merry always lacked the affection of her parent.She tried to achieve everything that a male heir should.She put all her efforts to help her father.

Hearing Max's heartbeats made Merry feel at ease.
'I shouldn't bring my past . what would he think that I always cry and ..I am really so reckless.. why? He is handling me with so much care, why? I don't know, I never felt this much cared and helpless at the same time..' Merry thought to herself while wiping her tears with one hand.
' I only know this way to comfort her..What can I say that would make her feel better. I don't know why she is so afraid to show her feelings. I know I also try to hide mine but.....
I don't know to console someone, I guess I only know how to make other cry. What kind of husband I am, I promised to keep her happy but...'
Max thought while still wondering how to comfort her.

Both Max and Merry fell asleep without realising like that, Max kept Merry's head on his chest and her one hand near his chin.
His way to comfort her was all she needed.
