Max and Merry weren't able to sleep at all.
Merry turned to left and Max was facing ceiling.Both of them were feeling awkward to lay next to each other.It was obvious as they both only had met each other three times before and in no time, the marriage day came.
'Why am I feeling this way? Whenever I am around Merry,it seems like I lose my own self.' Max thought to himself and rubbed his forehead in confusion.
'He is so considerate.Elle and others too told me that husbands don't consider the consent of their wives on the matter of their couple duties of making love especially in arranged marriage.He didn't force me or even said anything.I don't know when will I be able to be ready for these changes.Oh God! I am really an idiot,a person to be hated.' Merry thought as she was really worried for all these things happening.
"Merry?"Max suddenly called out Merry .
'Y-Yes!"Merry got surprised and turned to Max way.Max also turned to Merry's direction to look directly in her eyes.
"Sorry,Were you sleeping?"Max asked.
"Ah! no no!" Merry replied and shaked her head to emphasize her answer.
"I see.."
"Can I ask you something?"Max asked.
"Of-Ofcourse!" Merry got confused.
"I know it's weird to ask at this time but ,what do you like to eat? Just wanna know so that next time...."Max asked keeping his voice low and deep that sounded quite ticklish to Merry's ears.She blushed on that small question just by his way of asking.
"I.... actually I like ev-everything ,but I like sweets like pancakes and I-I also like spicy food ." Merry replied with all her heart and a genuine smile.She got really happy by him asking that because she never been asked such little things other than her father.And more importantly Max was listening her properly with a warm smile .
"You have quite nice taste." Max replied
"Wh-What do you like to eat?"Merry asked.
"I too like spicy foods.Once I ate a dish while I was returning from war ,a spicy chicken with rice,it was really delicious.I don't how it was made but It tasted different. "Max replied with enthusiasm and Merry listened it with interest.
"In what area did y-you eat it?" Merry asked
"It was the eastern parts of Overen.It was a famous dish over there."Max replied.
"Oh! I have also eaten it wh-when I went to see my grandmother."
"Did you?" Max asked.
"I-I know how to cook that If you like ."Merry said it.Max felt something inside his chest.It was the first time someone offered him such a lovely favour.He never had someone to even ask his likes and dislikes so it was more valuable for him.
"It would be an honour to eat anything cooked by my lovely wife."Max said with a genuine smile and petted Merry's head and unexpectedly kissed her forehead.Merry's heart skipped.She got embarrassed by his sudden reactions.
"I-I would try m-my best to make it to your likings my lord."Merry replied with a shy tone and embarrassed expression.
While talking to eachother,Merry fell asleep and Max too felt sleepy.But suddenly his eyes met with her sleepy beautiful kid like face which looked cute.
"How adorable...I must be loosing my mind.." Max said with admirer face and covered his face with his hand in embarrassment.
'Why I wanna kiss her so much,I am really impatient guy. Don't know how long I am gonna control myself..I have to remind myself.' Max got so tangled up in his thoughts.He was desiring to kiss her but couldn't.
Max kept on looking at Merry like that then unknowingly he too fell asleep.

"Hmm..."Max woke up by the sunlight on his face and when looked up he saw Merry sleeping peacefully on Max's one arm.He didn't even move a little bit.He didn't want to wake her up.He couldn't believe himself for being so submissive towards someone.
"Hm...Ah!" Merry woke up too, but suddenly her head started hurting again so much like someone was hammering her head.She felt a sharp pain which was unbearable.
"Merry!! What happened?! Are you okay?"Max got so concerned.Merry held her head with both her hands.
"Y-Yes I am fine! "Merry replied suddenly when she heard Max worried voice.
"But ,you are in pain."Max said.
"It's no-normal.My he-head hurts like this time to time.I am so sorry to make you wo-worried."
"What? I should call a doctor."
"No! I- I am really fine. Trust me,it will get better."
"Still you are in pain."
"I have co-consulted with doctor and he said I have hypnic headache.So it ha-happens on a particular time."Merry said it and lowered her 'what he must be thinking of her,just after coming she again made another mistake.' Merry thought.
"I am sorry,it must be hectic yesterday,all those functions and rituals you must be exhausted by all of it."
"It's n-not...I"
"You just rest more,I go grab some medicine for you okay?"
"No need .. I-I have medicines with me."
"Then have them and rest,it's still very early." Max said it with a worried voice and put his hand on her head to check if she had fever or not.
Max then asked Merry to lay down and covered her with a blanked.Then he started massaging her head to relieve her headache.
"Wh-What are you doing m-my lord.. Please don't.."Merry was so surprised by his action.
"Shut up and Just stay still"
"Bu-But.."
"I said stay still." Max insisted and tried to calm down her and ease her pain.
After a while he too relaxed his lower body and kept on massaging her head.
"Th-Thank you so much" Merry thanked him while trying to control her emotions.
"Anytime.Next time you should order me my wife.As your husband it's my responsibility.Got it?"Max said with a caring tone.
"O-Okay"Merry hesitantly nodded
"Good girl!"Max smiled .
