Chereads / Bloodmoon Rose: Tsukiyomi No Chi / Chapter 24 - Darkai’s Dark Side

Chapter 24 - Darkai’s Dark Side

He remembered the sky. It was gray. And there was a white silky texture in his hand. He also felt suspended in the air for a while. Darkness surrounded him until he opened his eyes, which he had a hard time adjusting to. Everything was blurry when his eyes adjusted to the dim room. It felt weird, cold…cold on his skin. Looking down, he realized he was stripped from his clothing, the clothing Tadashi had bought for him, as well as the green ribbon. His arms were bound to the chains that suspended from the peiling ceiling above him. The only thing he had was his pendent. He began to panic, frantically moving his weak, bare, body around as if he were to set himself free from the chains. Dried blood stained the dirty tiles underneath his bruised knees. How long had he been out?

Looking around he saw no windows, just four walls and a metal door. Everything looked almost familiar but he couldn't figure it out. He remembered that Tadashi had told him to wait over by an alleyway. But why when Tadashi promised that he would always stay with Tsukiyomi and protect him and fight for him and-

Tsukiyomi heard footsteps approach the metal door from the outside. Boots by the sound of the step. Tsukiyomi hung his head again, pretending to still be unconscious. The sound of a key slides into the lock and the door creaks to an open. He watches through the strands of his long hair as a pair of large boots approach his weak body. A chuckle, a deep chuckle came from above.

"Oh, my little Mina~ I'm so happy I found you!" The voice pierced his heart. It was familiar. The voice brought back memories of dark rooms and broken trust. The footsteps inched closer, his body going stiff. A pale hand with sharp black nails dives underneath his lowered head and forcefully lifts his chin up. He's frozen in fear as the face of the man who ruined him looks down upon him. Tsukiyomi trembled at the smile that flooded his head with awful memories. Memories he had forgotten, memories that he wished wouldn't come back. The eyes that stared down at him every time IT happened, the sharp teeth that pierced his skin like a knife, the hands that bore the blood of not only Tsukiyomi but many other lives. And the nails of the hands that touched and scratched him, that harassed and hit him, that caressed and held him. The name he was given by this man. A "Pet" name.

Tsukiyomi went limp, sweat rolled down his naked back. He wanted to hide himself from this awful man who took everything from him.

"You do remember me! Oh, How I have missed you, Mina. You're my beautiful PET!"

The Man's hands pulled him close, putting his arms around Tsukiyomi's bare skin. He couldn't move, not only because he was bound, but from the fear that was stuck in his body. The hands, the nails moved and lined the scars on Tsukiyomi's back. The scars that this man forged into Tsuki's skin, and the brand. Tsukiyomi could only flinch, arching his back slightly as the man continued.

"The amount of times that you tried to run from me, from this place, and the amount of times that you came back after being caught. I made sure that if you ever ran away from me again, people would know you belonged to me," The man stroked the brand on Tsukiyomi's back shoulder. "You did escape though. For a very long time, I was lonely. I had no one to pleasure myself with who was like you, Mina. and I searched everywhere for someone like you. I searched everywhere for you. You left me for six years. But look at how you have grown since you were eleven!"

Tsukiyomi wanted to cry, but he couldn't form the tears. The man's hands moved around his back, up and down his torso too.

"You are as perfect and as beautiful as I remember. The sound of your voice, the tenderness touch of your small fingertips, your slender waist and perfectly shaped torso. You're so feminine with your corrupted body you haven't changed at all..," He lifted Tsukiyomi's chin up, taking a closer glance at Tsuki's perfectly, un-cut face. A sinister smile on the man's pale face, showing the fangs that tore the perfect skin on Tsukiyomi's body and turned it into scars. "Say my name, Mina, my pet, my precious child. Say it to me softly like you did long ago, tell me you missed me and that you are so very sorry for running away. I was very lonely with no one by me on my throne!"

"No…" Tsuki weakly whispered, closing his dry eyes.

"What?"

"No."

The man's grasp tightened around Tsukiyomi's chin. "You dare disobey me? I will do terrible things and you know this, child. So say it! Say my name!"

"LET ME GO, YOU DEVIL"

Blood flew from Tsuki's mouth as the man slapped him across his face. He hadn't been slapped in a while. The blood dripped and flowed in his mouth. He turned his lowered head to the man and spat the blood at him. The man wiped the blood off of his cheek and stood up.

"Maybe you have changed. You think just because you have grown and learned you are some hero from a past life doesn't mean you're strong now. Rose does not exist. Mina, you are nothing compared to the stories. You are merely a trapped sparrow in my cage. And this time, I'll make sure you won't fly away."

"Go to HELL!"

"And leave you here all alone? I don't think so, Mina~" With that he left with a chuckle, slamming the metal door. Terrible memories begin to flood back into Tsuki's head. Now that he was back with this man, The Demon King of Darkai, Zankoku Kibishi, he would surely never be free again. Would Tadashi even find him? Would he ever see the light of day ever again?

He felt the pendant dangling around his neck start to glow red. The room around him seemed to spin and change. A memory was occurring it seemed. The room around him was the spitting image of his childhood home that had burned down and was rebuilt. An old home, broken and rotting and was damp with sadness. But the room his memory was in was warm and welcoming. There was a bed with matted quilts and a stained pillow. Even though the walls were rotted and falling apart it was nice to see something familiar.

In the broken bed was a child with longish onyx black hair. He had teal eyes and looked exactly like Tsukiyomi. Sitting on the bed with him was a woman, she was heavily pregnant. Her eyes matched the childs and her hair was just as dark as his. The two had a conversation, Tsukiyomi could tell they were close.

"Mama, tell the story again! The one you always tell!!" The child said, squirming around near his mother. She chuckled.

"Alright, but you have to go to bed right after! Do you remember what the story is about?" the child shook his head, and the woman continued, "Tsukuyomi-No-Mikoto, also known as Tsukiyomi. It's you, well, not exactly! Tsukuyomi or Tsukiyomi is the god of the moon. Do you remember his siblings' names?"

The child was silent for a second, thinking. Then he perks up in excitement. "Amaterasu and Susanoo!" The woman nodded but before she could begin the story the room went back to the rotting walls and dried blood. The pendant went back to its original color. Tsukiyomi remembered the woman. That was his mother and the child was him. But why was she pregnant? Did Tsukiyomi have a sibling? Where was his father? His mind went to 'I need to get out of here'. He looked at the pendant that dangled around his neck. Surely if Rose was real, her spirit could lend him power, right? He was also a yokai but never knew his potential. He whispered to himself.

"Rose Bloodmoon…I beg, Please lend me your spirit. I'm trapped and I feel helpless. Somehow, tell Tadashi to find me and…God Dammit, this is stupid!" He tried to stand up, his bruised knees shaking as they hovered over the ground, slowly lifting his malnourished body to stand. He had to break the chains somehow. He thought to himself as anger filled his mind. "I hate this place, I hate my thoughts, I hate him. I hate myself, I hate this body, what HE did to this body. I hate Kibishi. What am I? WHy am I the way I am? I was better off left abandoned, hated, different, alone. Kibishi…I hate that name, I hate how it feels on my tongue. The stain it left on my clothes. Kibishi, that son of a bitch! And I've been chained and have been bathing in my blood for a long time now..almost too long…" A rush of power filled his veins as the ceiling above him crackled and the chains fell. Scales of red covered his unchained arms. Anger. Emotions triggered the yokai side of a half-yokai. Strong emotions. He was free from the chains, rubbing his bruised wrists he looked around the room for something to cover himself with. Legs limp, he walked over to the corner where pieces of ripped cloth laid. Wrapping himself in it, he looked over at the metal door and was surprised to see that Kibishi had left it unlocked. He opened the door quietly, peeking out to see a dimly lit hallway. He made his way down the hall as fast as his limp legs could carry him, all the way to an intersection of halls. Left, right, and straight. He recognized nothing so he went left down another long hall, passing doors, open ones and closed ones. He heard the voices of two men approaching from one of the doors, he quietly hid himself in the darkness of an open doorway. Once they had passed him, he quietly ran.

"Hey!" one of the voices behind him called, they must have heard him. He began to run as the steel boots of the yokai men chased after him. He ran as fast as he could, he ran, ran, ran, ran away.

Something struck his back and he fell onto his bare stomach. His back burned and his stomach ached. His head was pulled up by his hair, the hand holding it pulling hard. He glances behind him to see guards alongside Kibishi. He held a whip.

"My Love, do you not listen? Do you not do what you are told? Like I had said to you before, I won't let you leave me again," Kibishi yanked harder and spoke through his teeth. "Ever again. Take him to the Main Room in the east quarters. But before that, strip and wash him, dress him in the Clans' colors and mark him with the rings. Six. I don't want his uncleanliness of someone else on him."

A demon guard and Yokai took Tsukiyomi by the arms and dragged him down another hall into a huge room, tiled and damp. A wooden tub and restraints, water was everywhere. The room was cold. The demons threw Tsukiyomi into the tub and pulled away the cloth that covered him. The water was cold and without any warning, they poured the cold water onto him. His back stung and the guards were rough. They pulled and yanked his hair, water rushed through it, it was rough and painful. He wanted to leave. He wanted Tadashi.

"My Loyal Apprentice…

I've only just realized your name 'Tsukiyomi' is the name of the moon god in the Japanese region. Now I know there are eight million kami and many deities. Izanami and Izanagi, the gods of creation, brother and sister. Yebisu, god of luck and fisherman. Kagutsuchi, god of destructive fire. Amaterasu, sister of Tsukiyomi and susanoo, not only that but also the wife of him, she was the sun goddess. Tsukuyomi, brother of Amaterasu and Susanoo, Husband of Amaterasu, god of moon. Susanoo, Brother of Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi, god of seas and storms. Raijin and Fujin, gods of weather. Ame-no-Uzume, goddess of dawn and dancing. Hachiman, god of war and archery. Inari, deity of agriculture, rice, commerce and swords. Kannon, deity of mercy and compassion. And Jizo, guardian god of travelers and children. Those are just some of the main ones I had read about. Your name fits you very well. From the story of Tsukiyomi, He is one of the Mihashira-no-uzunomiko, being born from the washing of Izanagi's right eye – therefore making him the brother of Amaterasu, the sun goddess. In some myths, he is born from a white copper mirror held in the right hand of Izanagi.Tsukiyomi, the god of the moon went on to marry his sister Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, thereby allowing for the union of both the sun and the moon in the same sky. However, the relationship was soon shattered when Tsukiyomi killed Uke Mochi, the goddess of food. The heinous act was apparently carried out of disgust when the moon god witnessed Uke Mochi's splitting out of various food items. In response, Amaterasu broke off with Tsukiyomi by moving to another part of the sky, thus making day and night completely separate. Although, it's said that Tsukiyomi was very beautiful. Your name means moon, it fits your eyes! I know this might be all useless but I enjoy the new library in the palace. By the way, I'd like to thank you for teaching me how to use a weapon!
