Chapter 165 - Egg Hunt

"So basically," said Kieran. "Xenogenesis happened because the Dark Majesty was stopped from achieving his goals and banished."

"I don't like the way you put it, but yes ... That is basically the cause," said Skylar.

The director of the UR transnational intelligence paused and his eyes widened with realization. "I think I know what neogenesis means!"

.

.

.

"What the hell?!" Hunter said. The dark-haired boy found himself clothesless in an empty room but couldn't remember how he got there. "Not again ..."

"Hunter?" A familiar voice called. The sprite turned to see Diana in the same state as he was.

Diana sighs before turning. "Where the hell are you, Medea?" She shouted.

The aforementioned woman appeared. She had vertical slitted pupils like that of a viper and grey iris and her skin was as white as milk. She had white hair which was styled in a Dutch braid, and several mole-like spots all over the visible part of her skin that twinkled like a star, and was dressed in an unreal white gown.

"Hello again," said the Queen.

"Stop trying to make this a thing!" Diana exclaimed. "Just shoot a text message like a normal person!"

Hunter stepped forward. "Why did you bring us here?"

"And it better not be because you need our help," Diana chipped.

"It's not," said the Queen. "I never really thanked you two for protecting my daughter in Dreieck."

"You're welcome," Diana said. "Can you send us back now?"

"I was actually thinking of giving you guys a gift."

"You don't have to," said Hunter.

"I want to," said Queen Maitreyi. "My daughter means everything to me and you two deserve a reward for making sure the twins couldn't harm her."

"My father," she continued. "Figured out the location of a very powerful weapon and how to get there, I am going to tell you how to get it. That is my gift to you."

"... What weapon?" Diana asked.

"The third weapon of Infinity."

.

.

.

Hunter opened his door to see Kara standing on the other side.

"Hey, thanks for coming," said Hunter.

"No problem. You said you needed my help?"

"Yes. My friend and I received a gift yesterday but I think it's in a Floater."

"A gift so far away? What's the gift?"

"The third weapon of Infinity," Hunter replied.

"The third weapon of -- Why are you so calm about it?!"

"They're just weapons ..."

"No, they're not!" Kara exclaimed. "Do you even know what a weapon of Infinity is?" Kara asked.

"Is this a safe place?"

"Wow, okay. So, according to legend, Infinity, a cosmic being, created three weapons and hid them across time to ensure the continuous flow of reality. These weapons have unique abilities and give their wielder special powers. The first is Kiamas, which is usually in the form of a glowing sword. Cal-Ra is said to have used it multiple times during the Class Wars.

"The second weapon of Infinity is Titan, it is said that the weapon has to choose you for you to be able to wield it. Many have claimed to be users of Titan and each one of them has presented different weapons so no one knows for sure what it truly looks like.

"The third weapon of Infinity is unknown. It is widely accepted that the weapon is yet to reveal itself."

"Does it have any relation with the gems of Infinity?" Hunter asked.

"Apart from the belief they were both created by Infinity? No. You know, for someone who gets excited to learn history, how do you know nothing about this?"

Hunter shrugs. "You know what they say: learning never ends."

Kara raised an eyebrow. "You said this was a safe place," the sprite pointed out, causing the public safety and demon control agent to laugh. "Who told you about the third weapon's location?"

"Queen Maitreyi. Apparently, her dad figured out the location but left it for her. I think the third weapon is a pegasus," said the teal-green-eyed boy.

"No," Kara shook her head. "The third weapon is a spell that bends time, space, matter, and reality."

"We'll see." Hunter turns. "The Floater can only be accessed through Leinheim so I'm hoping you'll take us there," said the dark-haired boy.

"Well, Leinheim laws do not permit porting into the nation so we'll have to charter a plane, I think I can get that arranged. You have your passport?"

"I ... Yes."

"Why'd you hesitate?"

"It's a false identity Jade came up with."

"That should work. I'll see if I can get the Demon Control Agency plane ready," she said before opening a portal and jumping into it.

'So cool. Why haven't you taught me that yet?'

[You haven't asked.]

'How can I do that?'

The doorbell sound draws the dark-haired boy's attention. "How are you back already--" Hunter opened the door to see Diana standing on the other side. "Oh hi!" The sprite politely exclaimed.

Diana pulls the sprite into a hug. "I heard from Mom you were attacked by the Collector. How are you?"

"I'm fine," Hunter replied. "What have you been up to?"

"Searching for the gems of infinity in the east," said Diana. "I was hoping to make our next meeting a bit special but the 'queen' ruined that with that stupid domain-pulling stuff."

Hunter laughs. "At least she's giving you a gift for the troubles."

"I guess," Diana said. "What are we waiting for?"

"A plane since Leinheim laws prohibit porting."

"Right. I almost forgot about that."

"My friend Kara is trying to see if she can get a plane ready."

"Hm."

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Just tell me."

"It's nothing really." Hunter nods.

The doorbell rings once more and the sprite goes and opens it. "The plane's ready," said Kara.

"So is my friend," Hunter said pointing at Diana.

"Hi, Diana! It's nice to see you again," Kara said.

"You guys know each other?" Hunter asked.

"We might have a couple of months ago."

"Great! That's great. Now how about we get this journey started?"

...

After landing in Leinheim, the three mystics took a cab to an old church where - using a spell provided to them by Queen Medea - they traveled to the Floater where they believed the third weapon of Infinity was.

Once they got in, Kara realized she had no way of opening a portal to take them out. "Maybe if we find the weapon, a portal will reveal itself," Diana suggested.

"You might be right," Kara said and so they began their search.

Hunter, Kara, and Diana spent nearly twelve hours in the vast realm that apart from the occasional empty huts, seemed filled with trees and bushes.

"I think I'm going to pass out," said Kara.

"This tree ..." Diana narrowed her eyes. "Guys, I think we're moving in circles," she said.

"What makes you think so?" Hunter asked.

"Look here." Diana touched a line on the bark. "I marked this hours ago when I suspected we were moving in circles and guess what?"

Kara raised an eyebrow. "We're moving in circles?"

"We're moving in circles!" Diana exclaimed.

"Guys! That wasn't there before!" Hunter pointed to an object not too far away from them that was next to a stream.

The trio raced to the object and past the stream. When they got there, they saw a glowing box on a long wooden table.

"Guys ..."

"I think we did," said Diana.

"The third weapon of Infinity," said Kara.

Hunter examined the box. "So the third weapon of Infinity is inside this box? It's rather small, I guess it's not a pegasus like I had hoped."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Kara queried. "Of course, it's not a pegasus. I already told you, the third weapon is a spell that bends time, space, matter, and reality."

"Well, yeah, but it has to be something tangible. I doubt it's going to be a piece of paper that says: 'Hello there, the third weapon of Infinity is Abracadabra. Good luck.

"It has to be something," he continued. "It could be a reality jumping pegasus, or a time-traveling pegasus, or a giant pegasus that spits out smaller pegasus ... I don't know."

"What's with you and pegasus?" She turns to Diana. "Although ... he has a point. It should definitely be something."

"Maybe some kind of wand? Like a very powerful one?" Diana suggested. "What am I saying? Let's just open it and see what it's about."

Diana moves towards the box but just before her hand touches the lid, an arrow lands on the table, separating her from the box.

"Huh?" The snow-white-haired woman turned in surprise to several people on the mountains around, some with white hair and some without. Leading the group were none other than the Archaeons, Jason, and Rogue, and the twins emerge from the stream.

Trinity waves at the trio. "Hi, Diane. Hello again, Hunter. Heya, stranger."
