Hunter looked around. 'Waleed?' He called but to no response. 'Last thing I remember is going to slee --' he paused. "Is this a dream?" He thought out loud. "Yes it is," he heard another voice reply.
The sprite turned to see Naamah. "What the --"
"What? It's not the first time you've dreamt about me," said the pure demon.
"It actually is."
"Ouch," she said, making a show of clutching at her heart as if offended.
"You're real aren't you?" Hunter queried.
Naamah smiles. "Astral projection, similar to what you did at Adina."
"How do you know about that?" Hunter's eyebrows furrowed.
"My brother sent you to Hel before that; I was curious."
Hunter nodded. "So you can see everything I do."
"Not just you, using a scrying spell, I can see any person or place I wish to see. Don't worry, it's not like I watch you all the time."
"Sounds like you do. So what's the point of this meeting? I'm assuming it's not to tell me how much you enjoy stalking?"
"The girl you spoke to yesterday, she'll be at Adina waiting for you today," said the blue-haired woman.
"Sypha? How did you convince her to leave her 'home'?"
"She owes me a couple of favors."
Hunter narrows his eyes at the pure demon. "What?"
"She's the reason you signed your life away, isn't she?"
"Huh?"
"Your deal with Vali to bring you to this realm was after the Class Wars because you cannot open a portal here. You know the spell to bypass Lilith's travel ban but just like your brother, you have a contract with the Dark Majesty barring you from using the spell. Also, the principality of Hungary, where Sypha was born, was formed a couple of centuries after the Class Wars. This leads me to the conclusion: You asked Vali to open a portal to Nym'Roal so you could meet Sypha. Why?"
Naamah smiles. "Iren will be waiting for you at Adina. Until next time, Master. I'll be keeping a close eye."
The pure demon snaps her fingers and Hunter jumps out of bed. "Crap!" He sighed.
[What did you see?]
'This one wasn't you. Naamah came to me in my sleep to tell me Sypha would be joining us after all.'
[I see ...]
"I have to head to Adina to go and get her."
[What are you waiting for then?]
...
After taking a quick shower, Hunter left the motel he and the two other mystics were staying at to meet with Sypha. The trio had rented separate rooms after they left Razaar and were waiting to hear from Camille.
The sprite rented a car and drove straight to Adina using a map from the internet.
Upon arrival, Hunter found the elemental not deep into the forest, squatted down, eyes focused on the ground as she used her hands to dig the sand.
"Looking for something?" Hunter asked.
The pale blue-eyed woman stood upright and turned around to face the teal green-eyed boy before dusting the sand from her hands. "Hunter, huh?" She said. "What did you do to be in the good graces of a demon?" She asks.
"Sold my soul to another demon," Hunter replied.
"Is that so?"
"Uh-huh. So, Sypha, what did you do to end up in servitude of a demon?"
"I am an Aether and a scholar of magic. I serve no demon and I do no evil."
'Except for the part where you totally do.'
[Go on head, tell her that.]
'Nah.'
"So what exactly do you need me for?" Sypha asks.
"I have no idea. Camille asked us to come get you but didn't give any specific reason ... Well she did say for good luck since you've never lost a battle."
"So ... Superstition?"
.
.
.
Hunter and Sypha walked back to the motel where they found Ishani and Maxine in the parking lot.
"Hey guys," Hunter waved.
"We really need to put a leash on you," said Maxine. "Ishani over here was worried her overgrown chihuahua had run off."
"Very funny Maxine, too bad if any of us were to be a Chihuahua it would be you."
Maxine narrowed her eyes at the sprite. "Where were you anyway?" Ishani asked.
"Well, if any of you had looked behind me, you'd notice the pretty lady behind me is none other than --"
"Sypha!" A fourth voice exclaimed.
They turned to see Camille standing behind them with a small smile on her face.
"Camille ... It's been so long," said Sypha as she moved towards the red-eyed woman and hugged her.
Camille turned to the gray-eyed woman. "You must be Ishani; I'm Camille," she introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you," the battlemage responded.
Camille smiles before shifting her eyes to the Alpha Sector agents. "Didn't you say you couldn't convince her to help?" She asks.
"I changed my mind," said Fabian. "I've been lying to myself about Razaar being my new home; the truth is, I was only hoping I'd meet my end there and die on a battlefield and that's why I was quick to blow you guys off when you requested my help," she said to the trio that was on Razaar not long ago. "I thought ... I thought ..." Sypha sighed. "I'll be happy to help you three."
[Almost seemed sincere.]
"Where do we go from here?" Hunter asks.
"We are going someplace else. You on the other hand," she said facing Hunter. "... Would head back to Sector Five."
"What! Why?" He asked.
"Because according to Skylar, your teacher would be there in some hours."
"My teacher? What are you talking about?"
"I know right? That was my reaction too. I thought Skylar was just pulling my leg, but alas, she was very serious and requested that I send you back to Sector Five as soon as possible."
"And how am I supposed to do that?"
"I can take you there," chipped Fabian.
"Alright, that's settled then ..."
Sypha extended her hand toward the teal-green-eyed boy. "Take my hands."
Hunter placed his hand in hers and before he could blink, he found himself in Sector 5. "Damn! I thought you were an elemental?"
"I am," she smiled. "God bestowed on me several gifts," she said.
'Okay ...' Hunter started for Skylar's office with Fabian following along. "Quick thinking back there to avoid telling them the real reason you changed your mind about working with us."
"That was the real reason though," said Sypha. "The demon, Naamah, just had to remind me of who I was." She stopped and held Hunter's arm. "Listen, Hunter, the person you met at Razaar, that's not who I am nor who I want to be, I'll appreciate it if you forget about what went down back there."
Hunter nods. "Well, I can't wait to know more about the real you, Fabian, or is it Sypha? Maybe Iren?"
The peachy blonde woman smiles. "Sypha is fine."
"Sypha it is then."
"Until we meet again, Hunter," She waved at the sprite before teleporting.
Hunter turned to the right and knocked on one of the doors in the hall before slightly pushing it open.
Skylar who had a beaker over a Bunsen burner turned to the door and smiled slightly at the dark-haired boy.
"Hunter, thank goodness you're here; your teacher should be here any minute now." Skylar turned to the sprite after turning off the burner.
"Yeah, what exactly does that mean?" The tan-skinned boy asked.
"When your school learned you were alive, they wrote a letter to the Bureau requesting you be allowed to resume classes at the Met School of Mysticism, that letter was forwarded to us. I wrote back to the school and the Bureau that you can't be allowed back to school because of your amnesia. Your memories must be allowed to come back naturally and going back would only do the opposite."
"So why exactly is an instructor coming here?"
"Because he thinks we are lying. Your teacher, Sir Aragones, is coming to the five to confirm whether or not your memory is lost."
