Trinity races forward with her longsword which she clashes with the metal Hunter was holding, the collision causing a huge clang.
The battlemage used her right leg to bring the sprite's hand downwards before swinging her blade for his head, forcing the teal green-eyed boy to spin out of the way.
"Please tell me that's not your full speed; you looked stationary to me," said Trinity.
Hunter rubbed his hand across his neck to find blood already flowing from the attack dealt by the Archaeon.
'She's faster than anyone I've ever faced.'
[You'd be on her level if you weren't using most of your energy to keep up with her twin sister.]
'Regardless. My eyes can't keep up, I have to rely on instincts.'
Trinity launches herself towards the sprite, thrusting her sword forward.
'Upper arm.' Hunter spins and avoids the attack. He tries to kick the battlemage but she takes a step back and avoids his attack.
Trinity spins quickly, attempting to catch her opponent off guard.
'Neck.' The sprite ducks and tries sweeping the silver-white-haired girl who backflips out of harmway.
'Let's bait her!' The sprite thought to himself before charging forward. He throws a kick aimed at the pale-skinned girl's head but she ducked underneath before moving to the other side.
'Got ya!' The sprite thrust the rod toward the battlemage's sternum but just before the strike connected, the degenerated necromancer warned him of an incoming attack forcing him to abort his in order to avoid hers.
Trinity had swung her blade upward intending to sever the sprite's leg. She was willing to take a bump from the teal green-eyed boy just so she could land hers.
However, the sprite melts to water before either of them can deal their blow. Shocked and confused, the Archaeon drew back, when she did however, she found the dark-haired boy behind her materializing from thin air and throwing a hook that was aimed at her head.
Trinity moves out of the danger zone but runs into a hook from the sprite that had formed from the puddle of water he melted into earlier.
'That worked!'
[Unsustainable.]
The battlemage rubbed her mouth to see if there was blood - there wasn't. "I see you've finally decided to use it," said the Archaeon.
'What?'
"Your domain, you opened it a long time ago. At first, I thought you were gathering energy to release later on but now I see it's something different," she said.
'She didn't realize the first two moves were an illusion? I could lean into that.'
[No you can't. Did you forget about her twin? Using soul magic here would only make things easier for her twin. Don't forget the move would also leave you fatigued.]
Trinity tilted her head sideways. "You've figured it out, haven't you?" She asked.
"Figured ... What?"
Trinity sighs. "Looks like I overestimated you. That's too bad."
[Shrink your domain.]
'Huh? Why?!'
[Just do it!]
'But what about Chelsea? This could --'
[Now, Hunter!]
The sprite does as told, shrinking his domain and then almost immediately, moving it back to its initial size.
Trinity smiles. "Or not."
[Do you get it now?]
'I do. She was opening a domain but I shrink mine and the overload of energy causes hers to break.'
"Innovative way to counter," the battlemage admitted.
*MEANWHILE*
The snake demon slithered forward swiftly, trident aimed at the battlemage, as she got closer to the ice blue-eyed girl, however, the demon suddenly disappeared.
'Huh.'
Chelsea began scaling the wall to get to the other side and away from the Archaeon. As she got to the top, she ran into the same person she was getting away from.
Mercedes grabs the honey-brown-eyed woman by the throat. "Where is the princess?" She asked.
The battlemage turns her head to the side and grabs the snake demon by the neck with her free hand, the demon had reappeared and attempted to catch her off guard.
Mercedes's iris shrunk and shrunk until it was no more. Her expression remained nonchalant as was her tone as she spoke. "Bury."
The snake demon bursts into black dust.
The battlemage turns her attention to the raven-haired woman and her ice-blue iris returns. "I ask --" Before she could finish her sentence, her phone began to ring.
Still holding the mage up with one hand, Mercedes reached for her pocket and grabbed her phone, answering the call.
"Just a minute, we almost have the girl," she says her tone unchanged.
Chelsea heard a masculine voice from the other side of the phone but could not pick up what was being said.
"I see," said Mercedes. "We'll be there soon." The Archaeon cuts the call before throwing Chelsea to the ground who begins to cough as she recovers from the chokehold.
Mercedes jumps from the top of the building to the ground before picking up the firearm she dropped earlier and strapped it around her back before walking away from the scene.
Closer to the hospital, Trinity and Hunter continued their battle. The duo abandoned their respective weapon and attacked each other hand-to-hand.
Though Trinity did not attack much, the mystics struggled to land a hit on the other as they both did well to avoid and block each other's attack.
Initially, the silver-white-haired girl found it easy to avoid the sprite's moves but the moment the latter knew the former's twin had left Chelsea, he closed his domain and went all out and all in, forcing the battlemage to block.
When she was pushed and her back was against the wall, Trinity hit the dark-haired boy with a fist coated with black energy, throwing him backward.
Hunter attempts to get back up to his feet but his knees buckle and fall back face-first into the ground.
'What ... What was that? ... I can't move ...'
"I see you're having fun." Came the unmistakable voice of Mercedes.
Trinity turned to her sister with a huge grin on her face. "You weren't?" She asks.
"Why would such an ordinary task like this get me excited?" Mercedes said.
"Aww," Trinity moved close to her sister and tucked a stray hair behind the icy blue-eyed girl's ear. "Would you p --"
Mercedes grabbed her sister's hand which was making a slow descent towards her waist. "Uncle called," she said. "Backup."
"Oh?" The smile on her face vanishes along with the playfulness in her tone. "This better be worth it."
Hunter - who still could not get up - and Skylar - who was tending to Diana's wounds watched as the Archaeon twins walked into a nearby glass. Before the older Archaeon disappeared completely, however, she made sure to throw the sprite a goodbye wave.
