Chapter 80 - Punishment

Since Leah's disappearance, Chelsea had been staying at a small rented apartment not too far from the Metropolitan School of Mysticism where Hunter also spent most of his nights since the disappearance.

Chelsea was preparing a meal, using some of the tricks she learned from Hunter; she was going to surprise the sprite with a plate of pasta. As she chops and slice some onions, the raven-haired woman felt a sharp pain that shook her to her knees. The pain is followed by memories, memories that appear to her like she lived it, memories of another; memories of Hunter.

Chelsea turned off the stove and ran out of the apartment. She quickly stopped a cab and pulled the driver out of the car. "I'm sorry," she said as she slid into the car and took the wheels.

...

Chelsea pulled up in front of a small bungalow tucked away behind a thick bush. The dark mage hurried out of the car and knocked at the door. She heard footsteps approaching and then the door was pulled open.

"Oh, It's you! Hunter's wife in the in-between!" Naamah said. "How are you here?"

"Um ... Hi Naamah, is Alastair around?" Chelsea asked.

"You know me? I didn't think we've met al --"

"Who's at the door, Naamah?" Alastair shouted from inside the house.

"It's me," Chelsea shouted back.

The two ladies stare at each other before Alastair appeared. "You both can save whatever this is for later," the gray-eyed demon said as he walked past his sister to the front porch where Chelsea stood.

"What is it?"

"It's Hunter, he --"

Naamah cuts her off. "What? I spend a couple of weeks away and he gets himself a new lap dog?"

"That's -- Hunter's been taken," she stated.

"What happened?"

Chelsea narrated everything that happened and how Circe managed to capture the sprite leaving out any information as to why Circe was doing what she did.

"The daughter of a councilor doing all that? You'll need better witnesses than two fugitive pure demons to prove your case," Alastair stated. "Do you know anyone important the Bureau would consider a credible witness in the case of a trial?" The pure demon asked.

"Well ... Apart from Jade and Leah?"

"You don't know what state those two are in, they may be dead, or their memories wiped. Anyone else?" He asked.

"There's Zoe's foster sister; Lauren, she's a teacher at the Metropolitan School of Mysticism," said Chelsea.

"Hmm," Alastair said thoughtfully.

"Why are we wasting time?" Naamah interrupted. "You get her while Alastair and I cast a location spell to see if we can locate Hunter," the turquoise-eyed demon said.

"I'll save you the time and effort of doing that; Hunter does not appear if a location spell is cast," said the raven-haired woman.

"How did he learn how to do that?"

"Who cares?" Naamah interjected before Chelsea can think of responding. "Do you know where this Lauren lives?" She asks.

"Yes, her house is a couple blocks away from the Met school," Chelsea said.

"Alright, what about Circe?"

"I do," Chelsea said before giving the pure demons Circe's address.

"Get Lauren and the two of you can report the incident together. Alastair and I would go to Circe's to get something of her belonging to locate her with," Naamah stated.

"Okay," Chelsea nodded.

Alastair opened a portal. "This would take you to the Met school," He said.

*ELSEWHERE*

Hunter's skin immediately heals and clothes appear on his body; a navy blue thobe that Waleed formed as he took control of the body.

He got up from the pool of blood and despite the magic negation crystals in the walls of the cave, Circe felt the sudden burst in energy from the teal green-eyed boy. "What the --"

Waleed snaps his fingers and the location changes, the duo were no longer in the cave. They were now at the north pole surrounded by large mountains and standing on snowy sands.

Circe clutched her longsword tightly oblivious to who she was standing in front of.

'Shit! He just transported the both of us to a new location ... How?' Circe thought. "This means we both can use magic now ...'

Circe's left leg starts to glow red and the dark mystic stomps it into the ground so the glow moves from her leg and into the ground.

"What could be worth fighting for, Hunter? What could be the reason," said Circe. "Why won't you die?!"

Suddenly, a volcanic golem emerges from the snowy ground and roars and leaps at Waleed. The demon does not shift his gaze from the light red-haired woman, a hole suddenly appearing in the middle of the golem's head, stopping it dead in its track. It crumbles and falls to the ground.

Circe does not stay shocked for too long. She threw her longsword at the degenerated necromancer and then teleported. When the latter dodges and the blade fly past his shoulders, she appears behind him and catches the longsword, wasting no time and swinging it at his head.

The demon easily moves and avoids the attack but the yellow-eyed woman's attack did not stop. She followed it with more and Waleed spins, ducks, twists, sidesteps, and propels himself away to avoid the subsequent attacks.

He races forward and hits the dark mystic with a punch to the midriff and face, the attack sends her flying but Waleed does not stop, running after her then jumping and performing a roundhouse kick, driving her through a large snowy rock.

Their location changes again and they appear in a location with long, huge trees. Circe quickly adjusts her footing and shoves her hand into a tree to stop herself from falling any further. The tree rotates in its root and the light red-haired woman pulls the tree from the ground. She then uses her other hand to pull the tree out of her hand and hurls it at the demon who was running towards her. The yellow-eyed woman then uses chaos magic to turn the leaves into several bees.

Waleed turns translucent and goes through the incoming attack. He turns back to normal after that but sees a volcanic golem in front of him. The demon doesn't stop and suddenly, the golem melts into a small pool of lava revealing Circe who was hidden behind the huge monster.

Waleed hits her with a punch to the face and sends her crashing into the ground. Circe quickly got up and began racing through the woods.

The location changes once more and the ground on which they were standing disappears and the dark mystic is now frozen in the air and unable to move. She looks in front of her to see the degenerated necromancer floating in the air. Before she could get a sense of what was happening, Waleed grabbed her by the shoulder of her dress before spinning and throwing her into the ground.

Waleed flies to the ground and lands next to where the light red-haired woman had crashed into. The latter quickly gets back to her feet or maybe it was Waleed who gives her the time to. Regardless, when she does, the demon closes the distance between them and hits her with a left kick followed by a right kick, a left kick again then a quick roundhouse kick.

He hits the dark mystic with a left hook then a right hook then uses the side of his wrist to hit each side of Circe's face: right, left, right, left, then a punch below the throat, a punch to the middle of the chest, a punch to the midriff, a punch to the left cheek, a slap to the right cheek, a slap to the left cheek, a punch to the right cheek, then an uppercut to the chin that sends her flying backward and into a rock.

Waleed races forward and raised his hand to punch the light red-haired woman in the face. She barely dodges and the attack lands on a rock and destroys it. She stops, breathing loudly as she catches her breath. The yellow-eyed woman looked at the face of the teal green-eyed boy only to see the unique markings on his forehead, nose, and cheeks.

"Those markings ... You're --" Waleed grabs the light red-haired woman by the throat and she found it difficult to finish her sentence. Her eyes were wide in surprise but they eventually relax and her lips curl upward as she accepts her fate.

Waleed snaps his fingers to change the location.

...

Naamah and her brother, Alastair, walked into the cave where Hunter was lying face down in a pool of blood. The siblings rush to the side of the sprite and pulled him out of the blood.

"Hunter! Hunter!"

Hunter inhales sharply as he quickly sits up. "Are you okay?" Naamah asked.

"Where's Circe? I don't see her anywhere," Alastair said.

The sprite looked around, just as confused as the pure demon siblings. The last thing he remembered was lying in the pool and burning to death.

[I took care of it. Tell then she took off after you injured her]

"She ran away ..."

"Looks like you didn't really need any help," Alastair said.

Naamah helps Hunter up to his feet, putting his arm over her shoulders. "Wait," said Alastair.

"Someone's coming ... A lot of them, they must be the response team the Bureau sent," He said.

Naamah removes the teal green-eyed boy's hand from her shoulders. "Sorry master, we can't be seen together," she said. The sprite nods understandably while Alastair opens a portal and the two pure demons jump in and away.

Hunter rests his body against the wall as the response team swamps the cave.
