Chapter 27
Lucian pulled the gear as he drove through the estate gate. He clutched the small vial tightly in his hand as he ran, his heart pounding with a mixture of hope and fear as he ignited the car at full speed to the main pack mansion.
As he got close to the mansion, he slowed down and brought the car to a screeching halt in front of the building.
As soon as he stepped out of his car, he could sense that something was wrong. Leo was waiting for him at the entrance.
"Lucian, thank God you're here," Leo said, his face etched with worry. "We have a problem. Ryan, the doctor, was attacked. We're not sure if he's going to make it," he murmured in worry tone.
Lucian felt a knot form in his stomach. "What happened? And where's Adira?"
Leo's expression grew even more somber. "Adira is missing. We have no idea where she could be. And to make matters worse, her mother and boyfriend have been calling nonstop, demanding to see her. We need to find her and fast."
