Chapter 13 - Contract

Violet POV

Well, guess who is here, it's Jake!!!!!

____

I looked through the peep hole of the door and I saw Jake standing there, his hands inside his pockets. What the hell is he doing here!!!

"What are you doing here?" I said quite saucily as I opened the door.

"Marry me Violet!"

Was that a joke or something?, He just showed up and blatantly asked me to marry him. Is this the Jake I know.

"You've definitely gone nuts," I said as I turned to shut at the door at his face, but he slipped his hand mid way, stooping me form doing so.

"I'm serious, marry me!"

He said it again. Then something clicked;

"My mum came to meet you right?" I asked as I calmed down a little.

"How did you know?" Jake asked, confusion written all over his face.

"Come in" I gestured with my hand instead of answering his question.

"So...what now?" I asked Jake once we've made our selves comfortable on the couch.

"What do you mean what now, we'll get married as soon as possible" Jake replied curtly. Where was the Jake that was refusing the marriage so adamantly?, It seems what my mum discussed with him must've been serious, to have him rush here so early in the morning.

"What did you and my mum discuss to make you agree so readily like this? Last I remember, you were making girls perform surgeries for you" I couldn't help but add the last part. The silly and childish stunt he pulled is still just as fresh In my memory.

"Nothing that should concern you. Here," Jake handed me the envelope he was holding. I hadn't even noticed it.

"What's this?" I asked as I opened the envelope to reveal it content, "A contract?"

"Yes a contract. Let me know if you need any adjustments and we could twitch it a little."

I didn't reply as I took my time to read the contract. Six rules were stipulated in the the contract,

[Number one; Party A and Party B would both sleep in separate rooms,]

[Number two; Party B is not allowed to interfere in the life of party A on no accord, like wise party A.]

So I was party B in this contract; let's keep going,

[Number three; party B is would take care of all the chores while Party A will take care of the cooking.]

This was definitely absurd, one thing I would definitely twitch. I hate chores.

[Number four; party B is not allowed to bring friends except Kimberly as she is mutual friend of both parties.]

[Number five; Party B shall not request sexual intercourse from Party A and vice versa. Party B shall not request the love of party A, and vice versa.]

[Number six; Both parties agrees that the marriage will come to an end after a year with no hard feelings attached. This simply means both parties are to get divorced on mutual terms. ]

Funny. I don't want this marriage to proceed anyway.

"Are you done reading?, anything you wanna twitch?" Jake asked when I placed the paper on a table in front of me.

"There is absolutely no need for this, but if you insist, I would like to change some things," I said,

"Firstly, number three stated in the contract is absurd. Why do you get to "only" cook while I do all the house chores, secondly, why are my friends not allowed to visit while yours can? This needs to be corrected." I said with my legs crossed and my hands folded under my breasts.

"You should be grateful I'm cooking for you, unless you're messy, doing the chores won't be much of a hassle. My house is always spotless with or without cleaning," Jake scoffed as he sat back in the chair. That arrogance!!

"I don't remember asking you to cook for me, and I don't care if your house sparkles like diamonds, we are going to share the cooking and the house chores." I stood my ground.

"So what do you want to do?" Jake asked annoyed,

"We'll do it like this, If you cook, I clean, if you clean, I cook. We will take turns in doing it everyday like this, till the last day. If one wants to compromise it can be allowed" for some reason I felt happy while saying this, maybe because I knew he won't refuse.

"Fine!" Jake agreed reluctantly.

"Secondly why would my friends not be allowed to visit?" I don't know I'm making this an issue, I don't even have FRIENDS!!.

"I hate noise and dirt, and those things are going to occur once you bring people who think and act like you in my house. I can't let that happen"

"What do you mean, think and act like me? Are you in anyway calling me dirty?!" I was furious. I always wonder how Jake always manages to get on my nerves without even trying.

"Okay, to make it fair, I won't bring in any of my friends, except a few." I was okay with this compromise. The annoyed look on Jake's face was priceless. It's been so long we saw eye to eye on things, I wonder how this adventure called marriage will turn out.

"Pick a date, dress, time and place. I'll be there" Jake said before he stood up to leave.

"What about Felicia?, What If she makes a fuss about things. Maybe you should let her know of the marriage before hand, you know how she is, she'll surely make a scene." I said remembering one of Jake's obsessive girlfriend.

"I have nothing to do with that girl, just some few nights but, I'll make it clear to her" And he left.

The more time passes, the more it gets dawned on me that I'm actually getting married soon, to Jake!!. This was just a mess.
