"Mommy! Mommy! Did you see" Asiah was playing on the jungle gym. "Yes, baby great job" Asiah ran back to climb the monkey bars and I watched her . "Okay little lady 15 more minutes then we have to head home" Asiah nodded an continued to play. I sat back against the slide where we could see each other and checked my messages quickly; Eva had called.
"Hey Alia... listen I might have a great opportunity for you modeling. Call me back, it's definitely well worth it for both of us... trust me" I saved the message and waved back at Asiah as she kept playing. I shot a quick text to Eva saying I would call her once I was home and jumped up to play till it was time to go.
On the way home Asiah asked if she could go to her nana's house, so I called my mom and let them talk. By the time we Pulled into the driveway Asiah said she was going to grandmas for the rest of the week and weekend, I got a little excited knowing that Friday is coming up and Eva is coming over. I got her bag together and took her to my mom's. Once we said our goodbyes I got in my car and immediately called Eva. "Hello Alia" Eva sounded so sexy "hey sorry for the delay and I still am on my way back to my house just had to drop my daughter off at my moms" I said as I was making my way out the driveway. "Oh, you are perfectly fine. So, listen... the studio I work at came across a few of our pix from the night at your house and they felt you'd be the perfect fresh new face for this campaign. The money is great and will be greater for us both if you come by and show the same thing I saw in you that night... talent, beauty and poise. Just this time all you have to do is model haha" we both laughed "okay that sounds good just let me know when I can come by and see what's up... so … you still coming to see me Friday?" I couldn't wait to confirm her so I could plan everything out perfectly. "Actually, could you come by tomorrow if you're free and yes I get off at 5 so I can come to you by 7" I pulled into my parking space and headed for my condo.
"Umm yea I think I can swing that. What time tomorrow?" Eva cleared her throat "can you come around 3?" I checked my phone first to make sure I didn't have anything else to do "yea that works see you tomorrow and see you at 7 on Friday" I locked my door and hung up excited for tomorrow. I went to pick out the perfect dress to wear. I knew just the one that would guarantee me the job.
I woke up the next morning around 9 to prepare for this meeting. I wanted to present my ultimate self, being sure to look stunning. I truly wanted to model more than anything else so if this went well it sounded as if it would put me on the right track. I got ready and even put together a nice natural look for my makeup, I took my time with every part of my look today, even made sure I smelled and looked delicious just in case Eva decided to come over tonight instead. It seemed like it took me forever but by the time I was all primped and ready it was just shy of 1 o'clock. I went into the kitchen and made myself a fruit smoothie to hold me over. I checked the gps and it said it would take me 45 minutes to get there so I decided to leave 1:30 just to be safe. On my way out the door I checked myself again and smiled. Not only was I beautiful but I looked even more beautiful because of how excited I am to book this shoot. I touched up my lips and perfume then hit the road.
When I pulled up to Studio Haven, I was amazed it was beautifully constructed and looked very expensive. I checked my watch and it read 2:45. I was so glad I left when I did, traffic was a bitch, and I would've been late had I not checked. I made sure my appearance was immaculate then headed for the door. When I walked in the receptionist smiled at me. "Hi welcome to Studio Haven... you must be Alia" I nodded smiling "yes ma'am I am" she threw her hand back "please ... call me Chase. Let me let Ms. Garnett and Ms. Richardson know you're here" Chase gestured for me to have a seat and dialed on her phone. "Okay Alia she'll be out in just a moment for you" I sat for a moment and checked my phone. Asiah left me a message congratulating me on the meeting and said I was going to get it bc I'm "the most beautiful mommy in the world" I smiled a moment after I locked my phone, I saw Eva walking towards me. "Alia…" she extended her arms for a hug "I'm so glad you could come so quickly. I truly appreciate this, and I know you're going to love the idea... and the money" we both giggled as I followed her to the back. As soon as I looked through the forest, I saw Victoria. Victoria? Like Danni's Victoria Victoria. I tried my best to keep my composure, I reminded myself neither of them know that I know who "Vicki" is. I smiled and took a seat. "Hello Alia, my name is Victoria Garnett, I know your name already but please tell me a little more about you" I crossed my legs and cleared my throat "well...let's see I'm 26 years old I have a 6 year old daughter named Asiah. She is my pride and joy. I love modeling, came upon it via dancing and it stuck well. I've been modeling for a good 5 years now and I'm excited to see what this gig is about. You have a keen eye, so I've been told, and I'd love the opportunity to work with you both" I relaxed a bit and smiled back at Victoria as she looked me over smiling. "I can definitely say look and personality wise you are perfect. That dress looks amazing on you, and I was sold from the moment I saw you and Eva's pictures the other day. Here's the price point we were discussing" she slides over a proposal that had the description of the shoot and how much I'd be getting paid. I loved the concept but wanted to see if I could up the price, I've made more dancing and I definitely know my worth. "I love the concept, but the price is a bit of a low ball don't you think. No mean to offend but I've made more dancing for 1 hour. Up the price by 15 and you have a deal" Victoria looked up from her paperwork and smiled "you are my kind of woman, and you know what you are absolutely right" she went silent for a second, typing away at her computer then pages for Chase to bring the paper from the printer. "How's 25,000 for doing the shoot, free hair and makeup; and if you like one of the pieces you get to keep it sound?" I smirked and nodded extending my hand "you have yourself a deal. I'll be ready to shoot whenever y'all are just let me know when so I can make arrangements for my daughter" we shook hands I read over the proposal one last time then signed my name at the bottom once all that was said was confirmed. "It was more than lovely to meet you; I'll have Chase give you all the details at the front. Thank you so much for accepting our offer. I know you're about to take the modeling world by storm" I smiled big "thank you for the opportunity and thank you Eva for the extension" Eva looked at my body as I walked towards the door turning to see her staring me down "any and every time Alia, I'll call you in a few. Congratulations love" I went to hug her, and she stood for the embrace. As I headed to the front desk Chase gave me all the information I needed for the shoot and a copy of my contract for this shoot. I signed it and made my way to the door when I heard my name. I turned around and Victoria was walking towards me "hey Alia you left your purse, I thought you may be needing that haha" I chuckled back "thank you it's new and empty to be honest I didn't feel like switch purses this morning but this one went better with my dress" we both cracked up "yes I definitely understand. "See you next Tuesday" Victoria hugged me, and I waved goodbye to everyone else. Wow she really is amazing… now I feel a little shitty but Danni already broke things off with me and I need this bag so fuck it. I'll keep it professional and keep reminding myself that what she doesn't know can't hurt her.
