At this moment, at the Will's co'operation's CEO office. Sat a young man just entering his late 20s, but somehow possess the demeanor of a calm, calculated and ruthless business tycoon, in his mid forties: fully concentrated on going through files, approving some and ripping apart documents he taught meaningless. This young man is Jerry. "How come there's so many stuff to go through today" he says to his assistant Joy! "Sir you have not been around for almost two weeks now, because of the offshore project we're working on. And according to our strict company policy no other person can append his signature on these documents except you" "who made such preposterous rule?" Asks Jerry " uhh.. your dad sir, our former CEO" "oh! Okay but That kind of rule is outdated and not for the modern world. It doesn't allow for speed and efficiency: I think there are quite some company regulations I'll have to go through make some adjustments to so we can work more efficiently, don't you agree?" "I do sir" "well I can't finish all of this today, I'm just coming from the airport, haven't had any rest for God knows how long: please bring me just the files relating to the offshore project in two hours, and cancel every other engagement for the day I've got to rest" " okay sir" answers Joy as she reaches for the large pile of documents on her boss's desk. What she didn't know was that Jerry in his heart is very impatient at this time, there's just Been one thoughts circling around his heart for more than 5days now, now that he's finally back to his office he can't wait to clear his head. "Get a bucket, a stroller anything; take these files and be out of this office like yesterday, I'm loosing my patients" he yells with a perfect mix of subtlety and harshness "already done sir" says Joy as she dashes for the last pieces of paper on his desk. And moved so fast as if it was for her life. "He can be really frightening sometimes, wonder who pissed him off at the airport"
Finally alone Jerry dragged his executive rolling chair close to the glass walls and took a peep at the fast setting sun, closed his eyes and allowed the thoughts to flow unhinderd. It was thoughts of none else but Natasha. Ever since Jerry knew that the sun set holds great meaning for Natasha he too has made it his own tradition to admire the setting sun and think happy thoughts of himself and Natasha and their future together. But tonight his thoughts were not happy thoughts but disgruntled ones, filled with confusion and suspicion. Instead of admiring the sun this time he's complaining and causing "why can't she accept to marry me, does she think I don't love her enough? Haven't I showed her enough how much I love her? Or is it that it is she who doesn't love me enough, could it be that she has another in her heart?" "No no no no! I'm super sure that Tasha loves me, what then is all this talk of wanting to prove herself to me first, or whoever, I wonder why doesn't she understand that non of that mean any thing to me. If it's fulfilment she wants why doesn't she marry me and see how I make all her desire Materialize in no time?"
Jerry is the only Child of Mr and Mrs Hogszwat, the billionaire owners of Wills Corporations with it's many subsidiary companies. Jerry was their only child and they spared no expenses in giving him a luxurious lifestyle. Meaning Jerry is not used to somebody telling him No! Everything Jerry ever knew in the whole 26 years he's been in this earth has been Yes and Luxury. From the food he eat, to the clothes he wore, to the schools and institutions of higher learning he attended, to the cars he drives, his numerous luxury houses, home and abroad everything around him has been luxury! The Hogszwat made sure of that! They never told him "No!" Or "you can't have your way this time" for anything or any reason since his childhood except when he was 20. A fresh graduate from Harvard, with no practical experience at all.
Suddenly his father William Hogszwat's kidney cancer became more serious, and his mother Mrs Angelina Hogszwat up until that point, never had any experience with office duties. She had devoted all these years catering to the two most important men in her life. This was something she found passion doing, so she never complained instead cherished every moment of it. Besides Jerry was always a shy, "I prefer to stay at home" kinda kid and this made her all the more happy, because it meant she has more time to bond with her treasured child, but she always hoped that as Jerry got older he would have more opportunities to enjoy all the privileges of being born into a billionaire family, to have fun with girls, drive sports cars, and just enjoy being a rich kid. But Jerry was never the type. Just when he seemed to be loosening already, Mr Hogszwat cancer situation worsened. All of a sudden, Jerry has to take up the mantle, as the heir to the Hogszwat throne, and rule. To prevent a vacuum which envious family members, (who's been up to no good lately because they had eyes for the top seat) could exploit.
There was never any doubt about Jerry's abilities, he was always the smartest one out of the rest, throughout every level of education he went through which is why he never had much interest in socializing. But this also meant that he had Less and less social circle to mingle with. Lucky for him, he wasn't timid either or scared of a fight. Some how he always carried that aura of a billionaire heir around him so much that even his teachers were careful around him. They also didn't like him for the same reason. perhaps what could be Jerry's only flaw is that he was never good with socializing or with girls despite being a handsome billionaire heir
Although many girls threw themselves at him and tried to get him interested, Jerry was always the romantic kind of guy who thought, the relationship between a man and a woman only made sense if they're both in love and not when it is casual. As a result Jerry's broken a few hearts because he didn't feel " the romantic connection", or romantically invested enough" to continue in those relationships.
The only time his parents ever insisted he did something (which was something he didn't want to do, yet.) was when they insisted he took over as their company's CEO since there's no one else they could trust for the position. Everyone else has been spinning propaganda machines recently such as releasing confidential information about Mr Hogszwat health to the media, to force him to adjudicate his position of the company's CEO. His Younger brother Collins is the brain behind the propagandas intending to pressure both Williams and the company's board to name him who is presently the next in command, as replacement for Williams albeit interim. But Mrs Hogszwat was having non of that. She could see right through the schemes and programming, she's always watched and noticed that Collins was up to no good and have spent a long time watching him as a mother hen looking out for her chicks. So by now she can sniff Collins's rubbish from a thousand miles away. She's always tried to warn Williams but he was always too trusting of his younger brother. Always telling her decisively to "stop talking nonsense!" But this time the heavens will smile on her as even Williams could tell from the way things were unfolding, that there must be a puppeteer behind the scenes. He just didn't want to believe it was his beloved brother. Eventually he too agreed with his wife that no matter who stands to gain what, if he is to resign the safest hands to commit their many years of hard work was in the hands of their son.
Jerry was only 19 years old when he was saddled with this responsibility. He didn't feel quite ready for it yet. Besides he had just graduated from Harvard, and he's been dating Natasha for almost a year and a half now, but he always felt that it was his fault they couldn't take things a notch higher because he was always too busy. He planned to remedy that situation, and spend more time with Natasha after graduation so that their relationship could really develop. But unknown to him his parents had hid the true state of his father's health so as not to distract him in his pursuit of academic excellence, they tried run the company a little longer, keeping the truth of Mr Hogszwat's health, top secret. They did this to allow Jerry much time and not cause him any worries for the time being. But reality wouldn't have it so.
Taking on the role of the company's CEO meant that he is even more busy now than ever before. "This will not be good for my relationship with Natasha" he taught, and also taught of an idea so that they'll always have all the time together regardless of work. That plan was to propose to Natasha. What Jerry did not expect was that Natasha declined his proposal saying that it was "too soon, and I'm too young, besides there some things I want to achieve in my life before I can settle down I want you and your family to know that I'm not with you for your money" she said. Jerry has been miserable ever since he's proposed to her 3 times through the years, the last time being two weeks ago, and she's had the same answer which has made him even more miserable which is the reason he decided to go on a business trip, but that didn't help much.
Jerry have now ran the affairs of the Wills Corporations for almost 7 years now, and with his skills, he has taken the company to unprecedented successes. This meant that he was the most sort after bachelor in the whole of Manhattan. Many families in the higher class will be more than happy to give their most precious daughters to him to wife. Not just for his business accomplishments, but also for his reputation of not being a womanizer despite being a billionaire. "Who wouldn't want some of this?" He gets up from his chair admiring himself through the reflection from the glass walls in his office " who wouldn't want this? I am the most eligible bachelor in Manhattan aren't I? I shouldn't be here brooding over some girl even though I love her; I know what I'll do I'm going to give her one more chance to choose to be with me. If she chooses not, I'll know she doesn't love me and I won't waste my time me any more" then uncertainty comes flooding his heart because he knows his Tash very well and that she's not likely to change her mind. Because she's on some God knows who sent her mission to prove herself to him. "oh sheet" he taught to himself "if she says she's still not ready what do I do?
