Chapter 158 - ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-EIGHT

DYLAN'S POV

She asked me to take a seat, and she promised to play me a song. In silence, I sat facing the giant piano. I watched her closely as she sat behind it, and her beautiful fingers stretched out eagerly, tapping lightly on the beautiful piano keys. Her head was slightly leaning to the left, with her hair tied to the back. Some strands of hair hung loosely, straying from the rest of the hair which was tied at the back. With each breath she took, some strands of her hair flew slightly, coming back to rest on her cheek, going all the way to her beautiful chin. Her diamond eyes remained fixed on the piano, once in a while raising gently to face mine, and to melt my heart. She looked like a dream…like a fairy from a tale that is told to a child at bedtime. She raised her eyes, straightened her shoulders and smiled at me,

"I was just testing the piano. It's beautiful. It's wonderful, I love it."

"I'm happy that you love it," I told her.

"I'm going to sing a song for you. I…I wrote it, but I'm not too sure of it. It's the first song I have ever written."

Oh really! So she actually wrote a song; and I knew nothing about it! And it was the first song she ever wrote? For me? I felt honored. My ears were itching to hear the song; I was unable to wait any longer.

It was easy to tell that the lady was drowning in bashfulness. It amused me how Anisha was usually very shy. She became much more beautiful during such moments. I chose not to say anything, but just to let her take her time, and move at her own pace. Even if she was going to take an hour to get ready to play the song; I was more than willing to wait. She kneaded her fingers in one palm and faced down before whispering,

"I wrote this song after I fell in love with you…I had never written a song before…THE SONG THAT I HAVE NOW: that's the title. Do you think it makes sense? I mean, the title of the song?" She managed to look up at me, with eyes full of hope.

"Of course it makes a lot of sense! I can't wait to hear it!"

"The words in this song are exactly what I would like to say to you, and I mean every word..." she smiled shyly at me.

I sat up and nodded, urging her to go on, but she did not play anything. I waited patiently.

"I…I'm getting nervous," she confessed in a low voice.

"Take your time. Can I ask the maids to get you anything? Water, maybe? Anything to help calm you down," I said while I already pressed the green button near the room switch.

Anisha simply nodded her head at me. In came a maid, and she gave a slight bow.

"Sir de Milo, you called for someone?" she asked.

"Bring us some water and juices."

The maid left in a hurry and in short while, a tray was wheeled in with waters of various flavors, as well as fruit juices of all kinds. She poured two glasses as per our request, and she left. I lifted Anisha's glass and brought it to her mouth to drink.

"I…I can…let me drink on my own." She looked very shy.

"No, let me feed you. You refused for me to bath you, you can't deny to be fed again!"

She slowly took a sip. I continued to give her until she took more than half of the glass.

"I'm ok now," Anisha smiled. "It's my turn to give you some juice too."

Oh! I was not expecting that, but I was more than happy. She held the glass, failing to hide the anxiety in her. Her hand shook slightly. She put the glass down and breathed in, probably steadying herself, for when she lifted the glass again, her hand was less shaky. The juice, which I had taken too many times before, suddenly tasted way nicer and sweeter…because Anisha fed it to me. What a day it was. I felt very happy inside, and I loved every moment of it.

When she put the glass down, I could not help but hug my woman close to me. She was already sitting on my lap, so even if she had the intention of evading my hug, as she sometimes loved to do; there was no way out. I kissed her. My lovely lady with soft, sweet lips, kissing her brought to me the best feeling ever. Oh I was in love with the girl. For a moment we were lost in a world of our own, rejoicing in each other's love. At that moment, when we kissed ever so passionately, nothing else mattered to me. No one else mattered. I was where I was supposed to be, with who I was supposed to be with, and I was at peace. I wanted nothing more, I had everything I needed. Anisha, my world, seated in my arms, with her beautiful arms wrapped lovingly around me…that was what I had dreamt of for long. Having her in my life had been a dream since the first day I saw her; at first not knowing that I was in love with her, and then gradually realizing that the lady owned my heart. And hearing her saying she also fell in love with me was just heart melting.

It was after a long time that I let her go. I say I let her go, because if it was entirely up to me, I would have had her close to me until eternity. But she needed to play the song for me; and I also needed to hear it.

She flashed me a smile and started playing the keyboard. Her fingers danced beautifully on the huge machine, producing great melody like I had never heard before. I grew up with a piano, and I played it a little, but it became a whole new instrument when she played it. She gave the piano new life; and sitting to listen to her music was worth every second.

When she opened her mouth to sing, it felt like an angel had landed in the room, for her voice, her beautiful voice which I had known since the day I turned twelve, seemed to have become richer and finer, echoing throughout the huge room in a magnificent tune. The music found its way to my heart, piercing through to depths, stirring within me emotions that I had never known to exist within me. She sang the song with grace, shifting her eyes every now and then from the piano to face me, and those eyes seemed to see right through my soul. I wanted her to sing it forever. I wanted to hear her song; to listen to her music, to see her fingers playing smoothly on that piano….for the rest of my life…

THE SONG THAT I HAVE NOW

I never knew love like I know it now

I never knew the warmth of being loved

I never knew the feeling of giving love

I never knew the peace that it all brings

Until the day that you came into my life

And with you, you brought along a song

I never had a song before I met you

The song that I have now, was written by my heart for yours

The song that I have now, is one that I wrote for you

You opened my eyes to a new world

A world in which I matter

A world in which I can be listened to

Where I talk, and I am given a chance

Where I am seen, heard; and loved too

Where I am asked, and my answers respected

Where I am not a number, but a human being

The song that I have now, was written by my heart for yours

The song that I have now, is one that I wrote for you

I never had a song; no, not even one

I never thought I could write it, no not even once

But when I look, when I look at it now

Life never gave me a reason to write a song

Until the day I met you, until that beautiful day

You came into my life, bringing with you a song

You opened my heart, to expose the song within

The song that I have now, was written by my heart for yours

The song that I have now, is one that I wrote for you

Before I met you I was but a number, just a number…

You made me realise my identity, and my worth

Before I met you, I had no song, I knew not love

And when you came, you brought with you not only love, but a song too, a song

The song that I have now, was written by my heart for yours

The song that I have now, is one that I wrote for you

I have a song, a new song

I have a song, a song from my heart

When the sun smiles at us; we write songs

At me the sun smiled, and I wrote a song

The song that I have now, was written by my heart for yours

The song that I have now, is one that I wrote for you
