IN A REMAND CELL IN SOUTHRAIN
A police officer walked in and looked at the thin woman lying on the floor. "You are free to go!!"
"W…what did you say?" she failed to believe her ears.
"You may go now. Come let's do the paperwork, seems like your friend is also a victim."
"What! Anisha is innocent! I knew it! I knew it!" she cried.
"Well, not yet proven innocent, but for now you may leave. Of course you won't be allowed to leave Lakeworld until this matter is settled."
The young lady cried as she got to her feet.
"May I use the phone to call Ms Meyerton. She must be worried sick. I need to talk to her now, please"
"Of course", the officer nodded.
ISRAEL'S POV
My heartbeat suddenly increased. I had been looking for my sister for a long time, and I had no idea where she might have been. Although the caller ID showed as Evangelista, I was very careful not to answer in a way that would sell my sister out. I had sternly told her not to use her real name, thus I had to wait for her to talk before I could say anything. Also considering how my sister had disappeared, and me being as involved as I was with mafia syndicates, it was obvious that the person who was calling was not my sister; or if it was her, then she was not alone. Someone would definitely be with her, forcing her to say whatever it is that she was going to say to me.
"Hello?"
"Israel, this is Leah, Evangelista's best friend." Evangelista's voice came through. I immediately knew that my sister had played her cards well. Leah; OK so that was the new name. I could almost smile when I heard her.
"Leah! Where are you?" I asked.
"Israel…" before she could say anything, she let out a small scream, which I assumed was caused by someone snatching the phone away from her.
My guess was right, for immediately I heard loud and clear, Zuri's voice saying, "you need to report to me in the next two hours Israel, if you want Leah to live. And I know that you have a sister too. Evangelista Bassard. I will find her!"
"I don't report to you, woman!" Great anger suddenly enveloped me, and I shook my head in anger as memories of my days under Zuri's camp flashed in my mind.
