…After Anisha Meyerton was spotted at the Hospital in Yellowleaf, police thought they were closing in on her. However, she managed to escape. Speaking to Southrain City News Online, Detective Harris said they highly suspect that Anisha Meyerton is acting with the assistance of a very well-trained person, because she has so far shown exquisite skills of evading the police, which a baby sitter may not be able to do on her own.
The police also suspect that, if there is no mastermind helping Anisha Meyerton in all this, then she may be doing everything under duress. Someone might be forcing her to do what she is doing. However, this second thought does not hold much water, since Anisha Meyerton has never been seen with anyone else except the baby.
Moving on to the case of doctor Dylan de Milo, police are starting to suspect that the case of the murder of Mrs Larissa la Martina and the disappearance of doctor Dylan de Milo are related. These suspicions arise following the just received news. Doctor Dylan de Milo's car was spotted dumped at the side of the road along a freeway in Yellowleaf. There are three bullet shots on the car, and the car is empty. There is no sign of blood or anything that may suggest that doctor de Milo was injured or killed. As such, there is a high chance that he is still alive.
There has been no demand for a ransom, which makes the case more complicated. The reason behind the kidnapping remains unknown. However, doctor Roderick de Milo and Shimmer de Milo are offering a total of twenty million dollars cash to any person who is able to provide information to help the police find Dylan de Milo. Whether he is found dead or alive, the monetary reward still stands.
If anyone has information concerning the whereabouts of Dylan de Milo, urgently get in touch with detective Harris on 235885, or officer Fraser on 235886. Anonymous calls can also be made at 5565785.
Meanwhile, the affluent businessman, founder and CEO of Double L Waste Management Company, Mr Lucas la Martina, is still missing. la Martina was never seen since the morning of his wife's murder. While he too was considered a murder suspect, police are beginning to believe that he might be a victim in the whole situation.
The boarders of Lakeworld are currently under strict surveillance, and police has been dispatched throughout the capital city, Southrain, and in Yellowleaf, as well as in every city and place within Lakeworld. ANISHA'S POV
Getting locked in the same room with doctor Dylan de Milo was something that under no circumstance I could have ever dreamt of. I knew him, just like any other girl would have known him. I had known him since I was a child, back at the orphanage. There was a time, before the orphanage was closed, when him and his family used to come every first Thursday of the month, bringing donations to the home.
Although I must admit that Dylan was every girl's crush, we all knew that he was out of our reach. He was the son of the richest family in Lakeworld, while we were mere orphans staying at a home, relying on donations. We knew that we could never get close to him, ye we still dreamt of being his friend. Maybe just friendship!
Being with him in the same room, I felt hot and cold at the same time. My eyes remained fixed to one spot, as I dared not look in his direction. While he was playing with Liam, I stole some glances at him, and I told myself he had grown even much more handsome from the last time that I had seen him. He was the most handsome man I had ever known, with a face whose features were proportionate, telling that for real, the Creator had taken great care in creating such a human. He asked me questions here and there, about Liam's health, and I answered them shyly.
To me it was the greatest time of my life! I had just been kidnapped yes, but then I was speaking to Dylan de Milo!! I wanted to scream! I wanted to tell Valentina, and all the other girls from the home. I wished there was a platform there and then, where I could gather all the girls from the home, and tell them guys, I am locked in the same room with him! Dylan de Milo, in the flesh! They had to know! They needed to know.
I looked at him as he lifted Liam up in his arms. Immediately the images came to my mind; those old days when the girls and I would be in our beds, after Ms Meyerton, our matron would switch off the lights, and then we would giggle and talk. Of course the first Thursday of the month was our best day. We all looked forward to it. Six of us shared a room; there were three bunk beds in the room.
"Did you see Dylan? Did you see when he smiled!" one of the girls would giggle.
"Oh my word he smiled, and it seemed like he was smiling at you, Anisha?"
"At me? Why would he smile at me? He might have just been looking in my direction, but he certainly didn't smile at me" I always used to deny it.
"Did you see how handsome he looked when he walked up to his seat!" one of us would ask shyly.
"Oh my, I love the way he walks!! Is he the only son of the de Milos? I haven't seen any other boy child with them!"
Obviously all of us knew that talking about Dylan was just a way of passing time. He was a de Milo, for crying out loud! None of us seriously hoped for Dylan to talk to them, we knew our status very well.
For me, to be with him in the same room was enough. I told myself if I make it out of this place alive, then I will have one thing to celebrate. I can always tell Valentina that I spent many days with Dylan. He hugged and comforted me when I cried…
My thoughts were cut short when the door was violently opened and Eden marched in.
"How's the baby?", he inquired.
Dylan just stared at him and did not say anything. Not minding being ignored, Eden walked towards Liam and put out his hand on the child's forehead, he must have been feeling his temperature.
Pastor Everdeen cleared his voice, thus drawing the attention of everyone. He began to speak, his eyes fixed on Eden, "my son, when I set out to come to this city of Yellowleaf, my plan was to have time alone with God. I am old, I am not feeling well. I can die any time from now. I don't know what your motive is, but please my son, may I have a space to myself, where I can talk to God. I really need this time. My days are over, I need to settle things with my Lord. I have…."
"Enough!!" Eden roared angrily. "This is not a church, I don't want to hear any more of that! You can pray here in this room, do you really need a special place for prayer?"
"My son, please…."
"And stop with that thing of calling me son! No! I am not your son!! You're driving me mad already!!"
Eden held his hands up in the air and brought them down heavily clutching his fingers at the back of his head, while his elbows kissed right in front of his nose. He looked seriously enraged, and unjustifiably so.
"Enough enough!! I have enough pressure already!! Don't talk to me or you will just drive me insane!"
Like a madman, he swirled around with his teeth gritted together, and he seems to be in pain. None of course could have guessed what was causing Eden's pain.
"I don't care!! I don't care about you all!! All I want is this baby," he took the child and held him close to his chest. Poor Liam looked up and Eden, and then at me, and his little face showed that he was close to crying.
"Please, please, don't hurt him", I pleaded with him while the tears already started to roll.
Eden ignored me and went on, "you can all die!! You can all die for all I care!! This child is the only one who matters to me!!" his thunderous voice boomed, overshadowing Liam's soft cries.
Liam kicked, trying to get away from Eden's hold, yet Eden seemed to be possessed by a demon, for he refused to let the child go.
"Let the child go!!!!" Dylan screamed out.
"Or what?", Eden turned to face Dylan. "What happens if I don't let him go!"
"You're scaring the child! Don't you hear how he is crying! You say you want him alive, but you will kill him, at this rate!"
Eden's blood red eyes rolled in extreme anger, and he looked up into the ceiling and roared into laughter.
"Kill him? Never! I want him alive and well!" he roared into laughter again and spoke into Liam's face "I want you alive!!" At that, Liam held out his little hands, his eyes begging for me to take him.
I gathered courage and begged, "please may you give the child to me?"
"Give the child to her, Eden," Dylan's tone was almost like a command.
Eden did not answer but remained rooted to his spot. Slowly, Dylan walked to him and took the child away. My greatest fear was what if Dylan angered him more, and he just did the unimaginable. Who knew what the man was capable of doing? I could not imagine what it would do to us if any one of us was to be shot there, by the mad man. He gave the child to me, and once the little boy was in my arms, he calmed down and I held him close to my chest.
"It's OK Liam, you're fine now." I whispered in the child's ear.
There was silence, except for the child's sniffling. Eden turned to the pastor and said, "so you believe that prayer will save you? Terror!!"
"Yes boss!" Terror responded immediately.
"Take him to the corner room. Put double locks on all doors. I want three security guards there. Let's see how this man of prayer will escape!"
"Yes boss!"
