Since Vine was travelling with a doctor, the man got to work. He checked on Jeremy and announced that he needed to be attended to as soon as could be.
"We have to take him to the nearest hospital, please!" Kiara cried.
"Bring our helicopter here!" Vine ordered.
Everyone wondered who Vine was; for he spoke with great authority. A lady ran to the scene and waved a file in the air, "here if his file. His name if Ethan Anesu; there is no record of a medical aid. He is still on probation with us. The file has his medical record; his allergies and medical history."
"Give me the file!" Vine snatched it.
Aletha had also arrived. She saw Jeremy and wondered to herself if the man was still alive or dead. She fumbled in her bag for a phone and called Sharon.
"What now, Aletha?" Sharon answered.
"You have to come, you have to come…Jeremy has fallen off a ladder!" she cried.
Assuming that Aletha had gone mad due to stress over her missing daughter, Sharon switched off her phone.
The helicopter arrived sooner than anyone had expected. It was only then that people managed to identify who Vine was; for the machine was clearly written "PINKERTON HOLDINGS." The people in the East country knew a lot about the Pinkertons. Those who were watching were amazed to know that the new employee was linked to the Pinkertons? How?
The manager who had ordered for Jeremy to go up the roof almost wet his pants due to fear. He regretted making that decision; for now the man was lying unconscious, and no one could guess what was going to become of him. He was thinking that Vine and his men were going to ask what had happened; or to ask for compensation, yet they hopped into the helicopter, some of them into cars, and before long, they had taken off.
The proper thing was for Jeremy to be taken to the nearest hospital; yet Vine insisted on going with him back to their home country. The doctor did his best to stop the bleeding; but he told Vine clearly that if there was any internal bleeding; he surely had no way of stopping it at that moment.
Kiara was crying uncontrollably, her arms on Jeremy's chest. Aletha was sitting next to Vine.
"Give me my son," Vine said. The lady silently handed over the boy to the young master, and the little one, instantly recognizing the young master's face, started laughing and dancing on Vine's laps.
"Next time you plan to play some dirty tricks; you have to be more intelligent." Vine said to Aletha.
Aletha faced down, not knowing how to respond. Vine continued,
"It was obvious that I had men following you; watching your every move. I had one of them buy a plane ticket when you bought yours; it was that easy. And we've been following you since the time you went out to eat at the restaurant, when your child went into a frenzy like the mad woman that she is; and you took a cab to Luna Head Office…we followed you until we got here."
Aletha looked down and swore in her heart that she was not going to respond to any of the young man's insults.

Seated in her office, Sharon started to think about the call. What was that all about? Jeremy fell off a ladder? What ladder? The thoughts troubled her until she switched her phone on and called Jacob to tell him.
"She said that? I also saw her the other day, and she spoke something in the lines of Jeremy is still alive! When did she call you?" Jacob was beginning to get worried.
"I guess two hours back. What do you think we should do?" Sharon asked.
"Call her and find out," Jacob said.
Sharon's wobbly hands searched for the contact and called Sharon. The call was answered as soon as it rang.
"We've just landed! We're driving towards Silva City Hospital. I don't know why the helicopter didn't just take us straight to Silver City! Come now, Sharon! Jeremy will be attended to in a few minutes!" Aletha screamed.
Getting seriously worried and scared, Sharon called Jacob and updated him.
"What does that mean? Is Jeremy alive? Do you think Aletha is still normal?" Jacob asked.
Sharon said she too was not sure, and the call ended.
In his office, Jacob called Silver City Hospital. "Do you have anyone by the name of Jeremy Rain admitted there?" he asked.
"We don't have him yet. He is on his way. The Pinkertons called and said we must make room and provide our best doctors to attend to a certain Jeremy Rain who is on the way!" a female voice said.
Jacob's eyes grew three times larger. It was as if they were going to just pop out of the sockets.
"What is it?" the man who was in his office asked.
"I have to go!" Jacob answered and grabbed his car keys before running to the basement.
As he ran, he called his mother. "Get a cab and head to Silver City Hospital now!"
"What is happening?" Sharon asked.
"Come now, mother!"
Jacob called his wife. "Where are you?"
"At work; what happened?" Nesisa asked.
"We're headed to Silver City Hospital. Apparently Jeremy is alive!"
"What!" Nesisa would have said more, but her husband's phone disengaged.
Jacob was driving at an unbelievably high speed. The issue of over speeding tickets never crossed his mind; he needed to go. When he arrived at the hospital, he ran towards the reception and screamed before he got to the desk,
"Jeremy Richard Rain? Is he here?"
"That way sir," a man pointed, and Jacob started to run in the said direction. He saw a frame of a lady, looking exactly like Kiara's; disappearing around a corner. Jacob was certain that it was her; so he ran faster; intending to catch up with Kiara. Once he made the turn, he saw a stretcher bed being pushed, people running along. Jacob instantly felt it. He understood that it was his brother. Tears clouded his vision and he ran after it.
In a room, everyone stood , looking at the man on the bed.
"Will he make it?" Jacob heard Vine asking.
He pushed his way through, and saw his brother lying on the bed, motionless.
"Jeremy!" Jacob could not help but break down.
"We will need space," a nurse said. "Please vacate the room now."
"He is my brother!" Jacob said through his tears.
"May we have one person to come in. I think the brother can come with him," another nurse said.
Kiara told herself that she was the one to go with Jeremy. She confidently stepped forward; just in time to hear a voice saying, "I will come with him! He is my son!"
Everyone looked and saw Sharon, all sweaty and looking thoroughly exhausted. She walked towards the stretcher.
"Is he alive?" she asked no-one in particular.
"I will go in with him," Kiara insisted.
"Not you again!" Sharon almost slapped Kiara, but Aletha was fast enough to catch her hand mid-air.
"If he could talk, he would have asked me to go with him," Kiara cried.
"Kiara, juts let his mother go," Aletha whispered to her daughter.
"Can't the two of us go in, please? I cannot leave him now. I finally found him; I have to be with him!" she pleaded, looking at the nurse pitifully.
Jeremy had already been wheeled in by the other hospital staff. The nurse, who was holding Jeremy's medical file, opened it and asked,
"Which one of you is Kiara Angela Noels?"
"I am," Kiara raised her hand.
"Please come with the patient. We need your signature for a possible emergency operation."
"Why her?" Sharon shrieked.
The nurse waved the file and said, "this is his medical file, with forms filled in by Jeremy Rain. His next of kin, as per his own writing, is Kiara Angela Noels."
