Later in the evening
After talking about how their lives have changed for the past 7 years, they are and drank a lot. It was like they were back to being teenagers, it's been years since all of them sat together and ate together. They laughed gossiped and even talked about how they have matured over the years.
"She's asleep now," Daniel said as he came downstairs after putting Aria to sleep, "wow, you know I still can't believe that you guys are pregnant before any of us," Elizabeth stated still in shock, "it's Aria and Daniel were talking about, I'm surprised he didn't get her pregnant in freshman year!" Josh laughed, "i did what I did man!" Daniel remarked as he sat down, "you really said I don't want one I want two huh?" Love chuckled, "I'm saying, how did you manage to get her pregnant with twins?" Elizabeth asked, "Come Li, it's Daniel the dog in heat!" Sammy teased him, "enough about me how about you and Des, are you planning to have kids?" Daniel asked, "Nope, to young!" Destiny answered before Sammy opened his mouth, "to young! You guys are 23 and 24 how is that young!" Daniel asked, "I'm just not ready for kids okay!" Destiny remarked, "yeah, we're enjoying we're not ready for kids yet." Sammy agreed. Daniel smiled and shook his head.
"How about you Love?" He asked, "Well we're trying," Love replied, "good for you." Daniel said nodding his head. He then turned to look at Josh and smirked. "How about you Josh?" He asked with a smirk, "yeah no, I don't even remember the last time I had sex with someone." He said shaking his head, everyone looked at him shocked like that was unlike Josh. "You no sex?" Love asked shocked, "Nope" he shook his head, "not even chicks?" Sammy asked, "I mean I was talking to someone but it didn't work out so yeah. Ps I didn't sleep with her." He told them before they Jumped into conclusions, "wow I'm shocked," Daniel said leaning back in his chair, "Your not the real Josh that we use to know." Sammy added, "Josh, no sex?" Love mumbled still in disbelief. "When I told you guys I've changed y'all really didn't believe me huh?" He asked, "no." They all replied, Josh drank his wine and shook his head. Elizabeth sat there waiting for them to ask her the same questions but they all changed the subject and started talking about other things. "How about me, you guy's didn't ask me if I have a boyfriend!" She pointed out, "we all know that you have no boyfriend or someone you're talking to so there's no need to ask." Destiny replied, "True!" The others replied expect for Josh, "Wow, do you really think I can't pull anyone?" She asked in shock, "It's not that you can't pull anyone it's just that you can't move on from Josh that's why. Plus remember when he left 7 years ago you spent almost like half of summer crying I've him." Love blurted it out. Everyone turned to look at Elizabeth looking for answers but she was frozen in her chair. She looked like she was about to jump across from the table and rip Love's mouth off. "Oh, did I say to much!" Love covered her mouth,
"No you didn't say anything wrong!" Josh smiled looking at Elizabeth, she shook her head in embarrassment. "And here I thought you hated me," Josh said leaning oh his hand, "I have to go." She said standing up from the table and left. "Wow Love, till this day you can never shut your mouth!" Daniel Shook his head, "actually thank you Love!" Josh smiled as he got up and followed behind Elizabeth. Everyone watched them leave.
'Everyone knew about Josh and Elizabeth's relationship, it was always on and off. But they officially ended things 7 years ago when Josh left for new, and everyone in the friend group promised never to bring up Josh and Elizabeth's relationship ever again since when he left it was very hard on her.'
Outside Elizabeth was sitting on the stairs thinking of how she can face Josh now. "Why don't you come back inside, it's cold out here," Josh said showing up behind her, "I'll be leaving in a few seconds so no need!" Elizabeth replied, "Look you don't have to worry about what Love said, that was 7 years in the past so no need to over think it." He added, "I didn't think much of it either. Plus there was never a chance of us getting back together anyways." He smiled as he sat next to her, "I don't like you anymore, you're just a worthless cheater who sleeps around with any girl you see, I can't believe I ever slept with you." Josh said looking at her, Elizabeth looked at him confused,
"Remember, this were the words you said to me before I left for New York," he smiled, "look Josh what I said 7 years wasn't…" she stopped as Josh said, "You know what Li, what Love just said inside there I don't believe her. Cause why would you Elizabeth cry over a boy who cheated on you not once but twice." He stated, Elizabeth didn't know what to say, it's not like she expected Josh to come back and tell her that he loves her after all the hurtful things she said to him.
"Well I'm leaving now, good luck with your life." She said getting up and walking away hoping that Josh would stop her or at least talk to her.
But he didn't. As soon as she entered her car she cried and cried until she couldn't hold it in anymore.
'Elizabeth is in love with Josh, but doesn't want to admit it because of how much hurt their past relationship caused her. She knows that Love is right, she can't move on from Josh and now that they are reunited it's too late for her to get over him. But she can't help herself, she still has feelings for Josh.
Elizabeth drove home all alone, she walked straight into her room and threw herself on the bed. She laid there thinking of how she could forget about Josh and start a fresh new life without him. She spent hours trying to convince herself that she can move on, but all she found was lies. She fell asleep in her clothes.
Even though Josh was smiling at the moment he was hurting inside. He couldn't escape the pain he got from loving her. He has tried everything to move on from her but there was no way or no one to replace her. Elizabeth was the only one who belonged in his heart, but closed that feeling deep inside of him afraid to let it out. because he knew if he released those feelings again he would just hurt both of them all over again.
The next morning Elizabeth woke up depressed, she felt like she should be happy seeing Josh again, but there was something missing in her chest. She felt empty, she felt like there was a hole in her heart that nothing can fill. After her shower she looked in the mirror and saw that her eyes looked tired.
She opened up her phone to text Josh, but she realized she blocked him 7 years ago. She didn't know what to do, she wanted to call him but she was scared of hearing his voice. So instead she went downstairs to drink some coffee. As she poured herself a cup of coffee it was time for her to go to work but she decided to stay home, she didn't feel like going anywhere.
After a few minutes of staring at her phone waiting for a message from Josh she heard her doorbell ring. She thought maybe it was him but she was wrong. When she went to open the door she saw Love standing there.
"What are you doing here?" Elizabeth asked her, "I came to apologize," she replied, Elizabeth took her hand in her own and led her down to her kitchen table where she offered her a seat.
"look Li what I said last night about you not moving on from Josh was my mistake, it just slipped out from my mouth," She told her, Elizabeth looked at her, "It was a mean thing to say and I shouldn't have done it. So please forgive me, I'm sorry." Love apologized, Elizabeth nodded her head looking at the floor, "well, he didn't care at all. I thought he was going to come and tease me and everything but all he did was just tell me that he didn't like me anymore so I didn't have to worry about him." Elizabeth said, Love looked surprised, she didn't know what to say or do.
"So what happened after that?" Love asked.
"after that I went back to my house and cried for the rest of the day." She told her, "I was devastated."
"Did he even try to stop you ?" Love asked,
"No, but he also never tried to talk to me either." She told her, Love sighed, "Why don't you give it another shot?" Love suggested, "You're right about one thing, you're relationship might be over but we can always try to make it work."
"You really think so?" Elizabeth asked her,
"yes, I do." Love said confidently, Elizabeth smiled, "Okay then, I will try again." She told her, Love hugged her tightly, "Thank you, thank you so much. I promise you this was the best decision I ever made. You won't regret anything, I'll be here to help you through everything." She told her, Elizabeth smiled, "Love, if this doesn't work out between us it's okay.
Because you were the first person who gave me hope again. Thank you for that." She added, Love smiled brightly, "Don't mention it."
Elizabeth was so happy that she had her best friend beside her and she was willing to help her get over Josh. They sat and talked for awhile. Elizabeth was able to take a break from thinking about Josh and focus on something else.
As they continued talking she noticed that love was getting restless. "Love, is there something you want to show me?" Elizabeth asked her, Love shook her head, "no, there isn't. It's just my stomach." Love replied, "Well, why don't we head to the mall and grab something to eat then?" Elizabeth suggested, "That sounds good."
Later that night as Elizabeth lay down in her bed she felt like crying again. She thought about how much she missed Josh and wished he was there with her. She felt so alone. A few hours later she fell asleep.
