With all the hustle and bustle of his current life, Daede was finally in a house again.
``Hell no am I leaving for a while." Was his first real thought when Loto brought his shiny self stuffed in a bag.
He already was a type of nester. Not that he was super proud but he was used to it. Literally from one place to another, he was just shocked he ever managed to find a house again. Sure the place could use a renovation or two but a sense of normalcy and fond times found him when he entered.
Like that, a few weeks went past.
Considering his ability to literally defy every possible odd to survive not one but three near-fatal moments without anything lost but a fleshy body and some sanity. He wanted something cozy for a bit.
"Who would think I would be so okay with everything that happened? Nothing too crazy. Really. Believe me." If one could picture a normal face saying those words with straight eyes and a stiff smile that said more than it showed.
"Low-key... is key." Daede slapped together. While considering whether to add it to his famous quotes series. He was on the back of a sweaty Loto doing push-ups.
He had been all over the place and with someplace to relax for once with activities, he decided to make the best of it. After all, who knows when his hell-defying teleportations would occur? With that, he took over Loto's residence in a... cooperative manner.
While he was at it, since the boy looked so out of shape, he had started training him in basic exercises to get somewhat of a physique.
Why? Simply because it fit his future plans.
Having a place to do things was sorely missed by Daede. He didn't even realize it himself but he was severely lacking in interesting things to do which would drive anyone mad for a while.
With the push-ups done, Daede let Loto rest and recuperate because tomorrow was the day they go hunting.
"You ready kid?" Daede asked the boy as he was eating his supper which was barely anything.
"If it can really get me out of this type of life, then yes." Loto nodded with a visible smile.
The day Daede was brought to the house, he realized that he didn't really know the lifestyle of these people and maybe was comparing too much to the first place he knew, Earth. With a few promises of help to the boy in regard to his missing family so he could be allowed to do some nest- mutually beneficial cohabitation the house was occupied by two tenants now.
The first few days were just gathering information and learning what type of place it was.
The whole world was new in fact. Daede was already shocked at how big it was just from space. The land was vast and the pool was big. He could never get over this, most people just forget but Daede couldn't believe the land's size to the point it kept him curious about it all the time.
While Loto was sleeping, Daede was just excitedly planning out a future because he didn't even realize it himself but wanted to live as best as he could.
Being who he was, just a normal guy ending up somewhere so vast without death and a big brain. He was still half-thinking it was a dream simulator that he ended up in but couldn't quite believe it himself either.
He wanted to see and do. He couldn't wait but he knew how to be effective, and that was to stay low-key. His obsession with it was a little unique but it kept him out of trouble so far.
Though one may believe, he was lying.
The next day he would acquire something very useful. Things should get simpler from there. Hunting was profitable and something legitimately in demand around these parts according to the boy and his findings.
...
"Wake up you little brat!" Daede was in sergeant mode early as the sun rise.
It was a day off from school for the brat as he called him now when in sergeant mode. With Daede's presence, some manner of liveliness was brought into Loto's life. He made him stay on routine, exercise and properly learn while motivating him.
Loto was very appreciative so he went along with the shiny rock. He became less scared but still followed orders, as death was still a possibility with a sneeze from the rock. So he assumed his role but Daede was not a tyrant which was also another reason why.
"Getting stronger is the only way little one," Daede mumbled as the groggy Loto went to wash up.
He didn't really understand why he was compelled to do all this but he enjoyed the house way too much, the boy came with it and he got some good information. Speaking of the house, it had a lot changed with old parts repaired and some proper gardening and finally a good cleaning. Daede turned out to be a machine when it came to cleaning. Although, he was planning on changing that soon.
It didn't sit well with him to be a mind-powered cleaning machine in his new life.
Daede learned that the world was somewhat mystical and beyond normal mystical, this place was a juggernaut.
It was so vast even the people here only knew a tiny fraction. To top that, there were legitimately way too many unknowns and the few things that made the place known made it an abomination mix fantasy setting as though somebody played with the sliders too much.
"This place is a big place, with big monsters, and big unknowns." Daede pondered as he was carried in a sack alongside supplies to the gates of the town.
Loto made his way strapped with a decent size dagger, some leather pads and a sack holding another man inside a rock.
After Daede's appearance, Loto became more determined to move forward and not just blindly do nothing. This led him to somewhat change which led to some simple but positive changes.
He had more confidence, especially with the way Daede taught him to practice fighting, exercise and plan with preparation. He still attended to his normal duties for food but he had a somewhat healthier complexion after these few weeks.
Even the bullying lessened since he didn't bother anybody anymore.
As they made their way to a mountain with some basic beasts from the area that the town settled near, Daede continued explaining the plan.
"Loto first things first, we need me a ride. I can't stay useless and I already got you the perfect excuse!" Daede repeated with a grin at his new antic. With that, Loto searched nearby for some easy prey while Daede searched with his vast mind-sense for something a little higher level. Eventually, as time passed, Daede couldn't help but metaphysically smile.
"Found ya!"
