Chereads / Daede The Eternal! / Chapter 10 - Two years

Chapter 10 - Two years

Daede had unknowingly let two years slip by as he studied what information was left in his new body/home.

He figured out the basics of the language and from there used his absurdly powerful will and now consciousness to digest the information.

The latter part took close to three quarters of the following year.

Two years alone. Two years in the dark. Leaving solitude only through immersing himself in the newly found knowledge. The contents were shocking.

Daede had never thought he would get it. But he did.

"I finally got it. It was a series of twists and turns but I made it here from a measly little human on Earth. From that to the ascended Jelly King who, bravely, fought off two solar system-sized beasts for his gelatonous homeland...yeah. To the forgotten shores of a destroyed land and with its last remnant I made it here with this knowledge.

HAHAHAHA! I freaking knew it! The third time's the charm. PLOT ARMOR YOU ARE MINE NOW!"

He screamed and cheered at his buffoonery.

Daede barely understood how to cope with solitude on Earth through distractions. His second life, however, wasn't so exciting until the last bit there. Monologuing became a thing and finding some hope within his third body gave him a feeling of being "Isekai'd".

Especially considering he was still trapped in the dark abyss of a foreign star's waters.

Nonetheless, his massive efforts at deciphering the language of the lost. He succeeded, somehow a silver lining came to his intergalactic life.

He thanked Earth for his blessings.

"I can finally leave this dark-ass place." Daede cheered at his possible escape from the dark waters.

His luck did in fact turn around from the shattered space trip. Somehow, he managed to land his hands on 100% certified alien knowledge.

The only problem was that this race of beings had been too absurd to put it lightly.

The sheer power that race of beings had invoked from their civilizations was scary. Daede would hands-down give this planet the universal spot as number one. Though his bias was obvious since he only knew of two civilizations.

Nonetheless, he wasn't as lucky as he thought he would be at first. The language was complex to understand and even harder to decipher but from the way, he read the parts he had. He was even lucky there were still blobs of info left. These things were ancient and due to energy loss over who knew how many years, a lot of what was stored was lost.

He was still happy, as he had gotten quite a bit nonetheless as he had only found one real piece of knowledge.

The moment he somewhat deciphered it though. His mind blew as here it was the Nuke of all Nukes.

The little fragmented bit of knowledge he obtained ... contained a system of power!

Out of everything he had come to learn from within his newfound body. That last section was where he had actually lost consciousness over. A blackout. The shock was real.

Daede knew a thing or two about what he learned. Mainly off massive conjectures based on fantasy dealings learned from Earth. However, he was equipped with a massive array of ideas and possibilities stemming from Earth's creative spirit to use to possibly understand the complex and foreign knowledge ahead of him.

He had believed himself to truly have been blessed. However, he had a weird doubt that there may have been more to this. The thought faintly rested within his mind before collapsing into nothingness. His attention pulled back into his mulling.

For a sentient race to create a system of power while also archiving a studied language of power. Daede was in awe at their level of advancements.

The fractional knowledge he had received was already something immensely valuable. He would bet entire clusters of galaxies on this knowledge. Yet, although this remnant was probably from an amazing group, Daede did not let himself become engrossed in it. The doubts were as plenty as the darkness surrounding him.

How could such a fierce civilization meet its demise? How did their lands become such wasted and dreary fragments? Did they bring about their own demise with their power or were they extinguished for their actions within the cosmos?

It was far too fascinating to Daede, who with all due respect, was a geek to the core. A true savant of the power of curiosity and its thrills. This kind of meat pie falling from the sky couldn't have come at a better time.

"I can't get too greedy. I'm already lucky to have made it this far. That's it! I am keeping a low profile and learning this stuff by heart!" Daede mumbled when a wave of soberness crept upon him.

It was an instinctual fear of the unknown.

Something told him from his very being that he shouldn't share this with anybody nor test his luck any further than he had already.

The unfortunate part was that whatever was left of this inheritance may not be complete and Daede still had a long way to go to fully master this knowledge. He barely scratched the surface of what information was left.

However, Daede knowing himself, couldn't contain the excitement that filled his shiny stone.
