Xiao Yi was none the wiser to the happenings in his 'kind-neighbors' apartment. Instead, he was suddenly inspired to reorganize the entire apartment, aside from Xiao Qiu's room.
With headphones in, he didn't hear the resourceful cries from the two thugs he beat up while they annotated their life stories for pity points with the officers and gamers, despite clearly being given leniency and essentially, a free pass on what they'd done.
However, that didn't mean that the small assembly in the next door apartment couldn't hear what he was up to.
As he dragged the couch across the apartment, the questioning paused.
As he dragged his bed across his room, the questioning paused.
As he dragged the shelf, desk, mini fridge, and coffee table around, the police officers could only stare at the sniffling, grown thugs in front of them.
By the time Xiao Yi was done, the police officers as well as Xiao Qiu and Lee had long left to a quieter place to continue their questioning.
Xiao Yi sat on the lazy boy chair that was now in front of the balcony, legs over the arm, sporting a towel on his head and simple black silk pajamas with white embroidery. The balcony was open just a crack, mint vapor occasionally finding its way outside to be whisked away by the wind.
He didn't know how long he'd sat there, just staring into the distance while trying to calm all his thoughts, however, it was past two in the morning when he heard a few knocks at his door. When he stretched his legs to walk over, all he could hear was a gut-wrenching sob on the other side of the door.
He jumped over the chair, ran around the desk that was blocking him in, and flew open the door to find a familiar orange-haired CEO balling on the other side. His arm swiftly reached out, pulling V into the apartment as he questioned. "What's wrong?"
V didn't say anything, he only continued crying and walked around Xiao Yi, only to find himself standing in the dining room. His tears stopped for just a moment as he blinked. He turned around to look at his best friend, then, back at the dining room that was in place of the living room. Then, he sobbed harder and walked through the apartment to the old dining room, now living room.
Xiao Yi stood in the entrance with his mouth slightly open, then followed his friend and sat next to him, attempting to comfort him with his hand on his back, unsure of what to say. Thankfully, he didn't need to wait for long before V choked out. "She was pregnant."
Xiao Yi's hand paused.
Was.
She wasn't anymore.
He continued rubbing the other's back, not saying a word.
V continued. "She wasn't sure if it was mine, so she had an abortion. Later, she found out that the guy she cheated with was infertile…"
