Xiao Yi slept for three days straight.
V remembered Xiao Qiu looking at him in all seriousness and stating. "Don't underestimate his sleeping ability. If he doesn't want to be awake, he won't be awake."
This sentence proved true. As soon as Xiao Qiu was rolled back into the room with the four men, Xiao Yi directly crawled onto the bed next to him and curled up as if he were a cat. The only difference was, that he was concerned about touching the other person so he thoughtfully laid Xiao Qiu's left arm which wasn't connected to any IV or wires onto his stomach.
He didn't know when Xiao Yi would get up and use the washroom or eat, but he swore that the boy was avoiding him when he did! He'd only left a few times to get some sleep on his own or go down to the cafeteria to grab a snack but whenever he'd walk back into the room, there was Xiao Yi, sleeping in the same position.
It didn't matter if the nurses came to change the IV, giving him strange looks as they tried to wake him up, or when the crowd of doctors came in at each shift change and surrounded the bed to give their daily reports.
Xiao Yi was like a dragon that went out and caused chaos, then slid back to his den and hibernated.
Of course, Xiao Qiu didn't wake up during this time either. The odd time, he'd flicker his eyelids or move a finger or two but otherwise, he too, was out like a brick. At least he had a reason - what was Xiao Yi's?
V sat next to the bed, arms crossed with his foot tapping against the floor, complaining. "You make a mess and I'm expected to clean it up, huh? The internet is going insane, Chen Qiang won't stop -" The phone buzzed and he glanced at the caller before continuing to curse. "He won't fucking stop calling me! I have 38 missed calls from Chen Qiang alone, don't even get me started on Mu Yichen - he's close behind at 26, it's like they're taking shifts."
Xiao Yi obviously heard him, but he could only compliment in his mind. 'How resilient.'
He'd been lucid for the majority of the three days, aside from when he'd first fallen asleep when he completely blacked out from the lack of sleep.
After he told the team that he was Frost, there was only an eerie, awkward, stifling silence from the members. Although Lee had tried to get the conversation going, Xiao Yi just decided to sleep. Thankfully, his brother was rolled in not long after that conversation, otherwise, he's afraid he'd be sharing a bed with Lee.
The day after he passed out, only Lee was left after the others were discharged and went to recover with their families but he was also quiet aside from talking on the phone occasionally.
V, for the past three days, has been talking his ear off so he isn't unaware of the happenings in the real world.
His parents were brought in by the police and the Xiao family continued to support them, mainly due to the stocks that they held.
There were attempts from the Xiao family to control the public but they weren't faring well, especially not with V countering them.
Xiao Huang… That pretty boy hasn't said anything yet, neither to the family nor public. He was the smartest in this situation - if he said anything to the public, fans would put him on blast and ruin his esports career. If he said anything to his family, they'd likely disown him for poking the beat as Xiao Yi had been silent for years without anything happening.
Meanwhile, his old friends have been pushing V's buttons trying to get information about both brothers after seeing the news.
A small, ethereal flute played a few notes before drifting into the air and Xiao Yi peeled his eyes open and lazily felt around his pocket for his phone.
"Really? This is what it took for you to wake up?" V stood up, mouth open and face red as he pointedly stomped his feet. "I know you could hear me!"
Xiao Yi hummed from where he was lying and swiped open his phone.
The message came to his main account, Frost.
[Midnight]: I saw what happened online. I just so happen to be near that hospital, want me to clear away some reporters?
Xiao Yi sneered.
[Frost]: Why? So you can bring me to the others?
[Midnight]: I didn't call for them that time. We aren't friends.
[Frost]: What a coincidence then.
[Midnight]: I didn't. Though, I did meddle a bit, sorry.
[Frost]: ???
[Midnight]: You don't look like the stealing type.
Xiao Yi understood what he was getting at and furrowed his brows.
[Frost]: You shouldn't have meddled.
'Let them believe what they should believe.'
Midnight also understood where he was coming from and sent a short apology.
He didn't bother responding, instead, he headed to the washroom to freshen up, then to the vending machine in the waiting area of this floor, and back to the room.
Just as he curled back up, Xiao Qiu opened his eyes.
