Chapter 181 - You Picked the Wrong Village Fool(5)

The members of Queen's Requiem, together with Jones, Amelia, Green, Lawrence, and Molly, were in the briefing room with an MTF agent who was giving them an image of the map of the area in Alaska where Rodeo went missing through a laptop.

"Agent, what lead did you get?" Inquired Director Jones.

"So all the Mobile Task Force armor, especially the higher grade models, have beacons in them so that we can track down specific MTF soldiers in case we need to rescue them." The MTF Agent explained. "We also put those beacons on some Scps so that when they escape containment or go missing, we can find them again."

"We know that part."

"Get to the point, soldier." Spy said sternly to the agent.

Returning his attention to the laptop, the MTF agent pressed a button and the laptop displayed the same map of the area, but this time it showed one 2D white dot and one 2D red dot on the screen. The word 507 was put on top of the white dot, while the word Rodeo was written on top of the red dot.

[507?] Kreig in his sane state questioned.

"Exactly." The MTF Soldier said, nodding, "What I'm showing you right now is a map of that same area taken before Rodeo vanished from our radar along with the beacon in his armor. The red dot is Rodeo, while the white dot is 507, which shows the beacon... of an Scp."

"Oh no, there's only Scp with that number," Molly stated with a serious look upon hearing this.

"Who is it?" Evan wondered.

"SCP-507, the 'Reluctant Dimension Hopper'" Amelia answered.

"I believe he was in a tight spot with the enemy and then his luck turned around at the last minute and he used SCP-507 as a way to escape," The MTF Agent concluded.

"He can't be that insane to use 507 as a means of escape, right?" Jones asked everyone else.

However...

There was a deep silence from everyone in the room which was the only response Jones received, which prompted his eyes to widen in realization.

"...He's insane enough to do it."

"Yep." Jeff agreed as he nodded.

"Can someone tell me what SCP-507 is?" Evan questioned as he glanced at Jones, who began explaining about Scp-507 and his anomalous ability to him.

"What!? How the hell are we supposed to get him from another dimension?!" Evan shouted in rage and concern after listening to the full explanation from Jones, "The multiverse is filled with a shit ton of dimensions and universes!"

"That's a huge gamble, Evan. 507 has no control over his teleportation powers, which activates on its own, and there are most scenarios where he doesn't go to the same dimension twice, and it's impossible to tell which dimension Rodeo might be in."

Placing his fingers on his chin, Spy went deep in thought for a brief moment before saying, "So we have two options, either Rodeo in whatever universe or dimension he may be comes back to us through some means, or we use 507 to go to him, but the risk is if most of us leave the site with 507, the Stand arrow might be at risk, and our enemies, especially this Wonder of U, who we are not chasing due to risk of a calamity which Michelle explained and which Dr. Buck encountered in Alaska might come after it one day... or D4C, and who knows who else. If we also end up in the wrong dimension, it might create new hurdles for us. So we need to think about our decisions accurately."

Miguel sighed, "We're in a tough spot here."

"Indeed, mon ami. We can either play the waiting game or risk it all."

"...So we should wait till Rodeo returns to us by himself," Michelle said.

"Are you insane?! Who knows in what dimension he might be and he's injured as well!" Robert exclaimed, "He could be in a dimension where they might have no technology related to teleportation, or worse, some other horrifying dimension where the world has ended or has been taken over by crazy lunatics."

"He always survived, Robert, he will come back," Michelle continued, "And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want us to risk the arrows and the safety of this world. I believe in him."

"I'm with her on this." Amelia stated.

"But..."

"My friend, we should wait for him, and SCP-507 being there wasn't a stroke of luck... but an act of fate." Nickolai pats his shoulder and adds, "If everything in JoJo exists here, Fate exists, and it will guide him back here, one way or another."

"What about that teleportation machine that you tried to use to teleport 999 to another dimension?" Evan asked, referring to the machine that was about to be used during Gustav's attack.

"That machine is meant to teleport to different sites in other dimensions rather than to a dimension where he may have gone because we don't know the coordinates and if we use the machine too much, we tear the fabric of dimensional reality itself each time we teleport." Jones explained, "So the machine is a one time thing only. Furthermore, requesting permission for asking help from reality bending Scps is something we won't get due to O5 council decisions over it."

"Fine," Evan groaned, "We'll play the waiting game."

The rest of the group nods in agreement with this decision.

'Hope that son of a bitch, Rodeo is alright.' Evan thought.

The following few minutes had passed as Amelia, Green and Miguel were making their way down the hallway and heading for the elevator.

"Do the site staff know about this? Rodeo's disappearance?" Miguel asked Amelia behind her.

"Most of them do, but word travels fast sometimes, and it may have an impact on staff morale again."

"True."

"And Dr. Logan?" Green said.

"Doesn't give a damn about him being gone. He and some other researchers think it's for the best that he's gone since they think there will be less or no chaos than was before." Amelia replied with a scowl. "Jerks. A lot of them are just cold-hearted jerks." she snarled.

"Forget them, Amelia. You, me, Miguel and the rest care for Rodeo's safety, even if Logan and the rest don't think of it as much."

Miguel nodded, "Indeed, Green."

"Thanks."

Shortly after, the three come to a halt in front of the elevator, and as the door opens, Amelia's eyes widened when she sees... an all too familiar face.

"!"

"It's been some time since we met, Amelia." A middle-aged man greeted her, his gaze drawn on Miguel and his countenance solemn, "And why is that thing out of its cell?" he said in a cold tone.

"Excuse me?"

"Who are you?" Green asked with a deep frown.

"The name is Dr. Numita. I just arrived here today after receiving transfer orders to be part of the site-17 research staff after I was notified that most of them were killed in the D4C incident that happened a week back. They didn't notify you?"

Green and Miguel exchanged glances at each other and frowned. This was the same person Amelia mentioned as her father and as being connected to O5-1.

"No... we weren't notified about it, Dr. Numita." Amelia said with a bit of venom in her voice.

"Yeah... we weren't, sir." Green affirmed as he shook his head.

"And we'd like to enter the elevator, señor. So would you kindly let us pass?" Miguel requested, but all he got was a frigid gaze.

"You have no right to speak, Scp."

"Then you have no right to block our path into the elevator, señor." Miguel said menacingly.

Seeing this caused Numita to scoff, "Since I'm in a good mood today, I won't argue with you."

Numita steps out of the elevator, allowing them in, but stops Amelia and whispers to her coldly.

"I heard you're now a Stand user, Amelia, and being kind to these Human Stands. Now you're not only a disappointment, but an SCP in my eyes. Enjoy the freedom the foundation is giving to you all. One way or another they will put you in a cell. I expected more from you rather than... this."

Amelia could only stand there with a darkened look, listening to everything from what her father said.

As soon as he gives her the message, he gives one last look of scorn at her before walking away. Watching him as he leaves, Amelia boards the elevator without a word before the doors close and begins ascending to the upper floors.

In the midst of the silence, Miguel said, "That man is a cold-hearted asshole."

Green nodded at his remarks, saying, "Couldn't agree more after looking at his attitude and demeanor. Right, Amelia? Amelia?"

Glancing at Amelia, he notices her using her Stand's arm to punch the steel door, bending it and gritting her teeth fiercely, which caught both him and Miguel by surprise at the unexpected outburst. He then watches her collapse on her knees, in which he and Miguel hurriedly kneel down next to her.

"All you alright?"

"Damn that old stubborn man." Amelia muttered vehemently as tears welled up in her eyes.

'Good grief. Rodeo you'd better get here soon, amigo. We might have more inner problems soon.' Miguel speculated as he and Green sought to calm Amelia down.
