Chapter 45 - An Unknown Force

(Dr. Amelia Buck's apartment, America - 4:30 AM)

Three hours before sunrise came, a blonde milf stood up from bed, she pulled her hair back to reveal her face to be Amelia Buck.

She had woken a little bit early since foundation employees needed to be at work at 5:00 AM.

After getting off from her bed, Amelia took a shower first, brushed her teeth, wore her clothes and had her breakfast. Currently she was wearing a dark blue long sleeve buttoned shirt, a pencil skirt around her waist, short heels and as usual hee lab coat and lastly kept her hair loose.

Amelia took her phone with her which was an iPhone 12 since her previous one was lost in a helicopter crash. She looked at the clock and saw it was now 4:35 AM. Afterwards, she took her car keys and left her apartment room before closing it and headed for the elevator.

As she was waiting for the metal doors to automatically open,  sometimes she felt this heat, as if someone turned on the heater or something, she's not sure but the heat wasn't helping.

The elevator then reached ground level and Amelia exited, headed for her car and entered it and started driving to Site-19.

It's been a few days since Carlos was found after the raid. At first, the foundation tries to decide to give him Keter class but then changes to Euclid due to being harmless and well behaved for the past few days, and allows Rodeo and Evan to be its owners.

Some of the MTF didn't agree with this decision since most of the ones they knew were killed by him, even though he was being mind controlled by the insurgency. But the foundation ignored the MTF claims and said that the ones that should be blamed are the insurgency, not Carlos.

Lawrence was transferred from Area-354 back to Site-19 to get better treatment since Area-354 didn't have much. I'm actually glad that Green and Lawrence got out alive but things could have gone much worse... Again the heat started showing up.

Amelia turned on the AC of her car to cool it inside, but it still wasn't enough.

"Damn this heat." She wasn't sure where it was coming from, but it felt like it was right behind her.

Amelia looked at the rear view mirror and saw nothing, she even looked at the left and right view mirror but nothing as well.

"Strange, where is this heat coming from?" She just sighed and decided to bear with it and head for site-19.

Unbeknownst to Amelia, while she was driving, multiple scorch type hoove marks were being left behind on the road. As if some invisible force was following her.

(Cafeteria, Site-19, America - 5:00 AM )

Rodeo, Evan and Carlos were in the cafeteria with some foundation staff in the room.

"Who's a good bird? You are Carlos." Rodeo said while patting Carlos's head.

"I can't believe you're taking responsibility for him." Evan said.

"Hey, he lost his owners and he's been through some stuff man. It's the least I can do for him."

"Yeah, I'm just saying. I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying."

Carlos perks his head up and felt a presence of some sort and looked around.

This didn't go unnoticed by Rodeo, he asked, "Is something wrong?"

Carlos looked at Rodeo, then looked around again and shook his head.

"Hmmm, he must have felt something wrong." Evan said.

"You know what, let's take a walk."

Carlos let out a happy growl and the three left the cafeteria.

———

(Underground Parking Lot, Site-19, America - 5:02 AM)

Amelia entered the underground parking lot and parked her car before heading for the elevator, but was still feeling the unbearable heat as she was sweating a little.

"What is this heat?! I won't be able to concentrate like this." Amelia said in frustration.

As Amelia headed for the elevator, she didn't notice the scorched hoove marks that were being imprinted on the ground behind her. Which means that some invisible force was following her.

———

(In a Hallway in Site-19 )

Rodeo, Evan and Carlos were walking down the hallway, they then made a right turn and saw Collingwood.

"Good morning." She greeted them.

""Good morning, Collingwood."" Rodeo and Evan said in unison

Carlos let out a small chirp before snuggling her face in a friendly manner, Collingwood responded by patting its head.

She chuckles, "For an eight foot Stand, he seems quite playful and friendly."

"I mean he was a pet Macaw to a family, so of course he will be." Rodeo said.

As the two converse, Evan then felt something. It wasn't time related but it felt like something was here in the facility.

"This weird presence. What could it be?"

———

(Elevator, Site-19)

The elevator reached the second floor, as it opened, it showed Amelia, sweating and breathing quite heavily as if she ran a marathon.

"I.... need... water." Amelia exited the elevator and started walking down the hallway.

While the hoof marks kept appearing behind her. Amelia started feeling dizzy and was about to collapse on the ground until Green catched her.

"Woah! Amelia, you alright? You don't look so good."

"W-Water... I-I need water."

"Alright."

Green helped her up and they both went to the break room while the hoof marks kept appearing behind them on the floor.

———

Rodeo, Evan, Carlos and Collingwood all looked ahead and saw two guards looking at the floor for some reason. The four then approached the two guards.

"Were these marks always here?" One of the guards asked, looking at the scorched hoove marks on the floor.

The second guard shrugged, "Not sure. Maybe some new scp they brought in?"

"If there was, we would have been notified about it."

"What seems to be the problem?" Collingwood asked.

The two guards turned around to see Collingwood, Rodeo, Carlos and Evan. The guards then pointed to the floor with the hoof marks on it.

"Hoof marks?" Rodeo questions.

"Must be from a horse." Evan said.

Collingwood then kneels on the floor and out of curiosity touches the Hoove mark with her finger and when on contact, it immediately burns her finger.

"Ow!!" Collingwood immediately got up from the floor and held her finger. She looked at her finger and saw a burn mark. The hoove mark's were literally hot. "That really hurt."

Rodeo then looked ahead and saw the trail of hoof marks kept going on and on.

"I think we might have a problem."

———

(Break Room, Site-19, America - 5:06 AM )

In the Breakroom, Amelia was sitting on a chair while Green was filling a glass of water for her. He then approaches her and gives her the glass, which she immediately takes and quickly drinks.

"Can you tell me what's going on with you?"

Amelia finishes drinking and replies, "I don't know, I'm just feeling hot for some reason."

"It's not even summer yet and you're already feeling hot for some reason."

"Yes."

"Want me to take you to the doctor?"

"No, I need to be at work."

"In that state, I don't think that would be a good idea."

Listening to Green's words, Amelia then saw something next to the floor of the door.

Hoof marks.

And once again she felt the heat, even Green felt it this time as well.

"Is it me or is it getting hotter here?" Green placed a hand on his forehead and felt very sweaty. "Strange, the AC here should have kept us cold."

"Green, were those hoof marks always there?"

"What?"

Amelia pointed to the floor and saw hoove marks of a horse. Then another hoove mark appeared and then another and another which made their eyes widen in shock and horror.

"What the hell is this?!"

The Hoove marks kept appearing. It seems like there was some invisible being walking in the break room and leaving its hoof marks on the floor with now the heat in the room was getting more intense.

"Amelia, we need to leave now."

Amelia quickly got up but then fell on the floor due to the heat exhausting her.

Green kneeled next to her, "Amelia. You alright? Can you move?"

"It's too hot." She replied in a tired and exhausted tone.

The heat in the room just kept getting more and more hot, Green carried Amelia on her arms bridal style and left the room before he started running down the hallway, but when he turned his head around, he saw the hoof marks kept appearing behind him.

No doubt it was following them. Green while carrying Amelia kept running down the hallway as the invisible being kept following them, while leaving more hoove marks on the floor.

'Is this some type of ghost anomaly?' Green thought before making a right turn and kept running while carrying Amelia while feeling the heat right behind him.

The invisible being was still chasing them.

"Damn it. Where's Rodeo when you need him?"

As if his wishes came true, he saw Rodeo, Evan, Carlos and Collingwood with their backs turned.

"Guys, I need help!!"

The four immediately turned around and saw Green carrying Amelia Buck bridal style and was running away from something. Green ran past the four, the four then looked at the direction from where he came.

Collingwood saw hoove marks appearing on the floor but Rodeo, Evan and Carlos saw something else instead of the hoof marks.

""What the hell is that!?"" The two yelled out.

Immediately, Carlos made an ice wall, but the ice wall immediately shattered and the four quickly covered their faces with their arms to protect themselves and felt immense heat.

The hoof mark's kept appearing on the floor but it then started to move ahead from the four and made a right turn on the hallway.

"What the hell was that thing?!" Rodeo exclaimed.

"I don't know!"

Carlos growls.

"What did you three see that made you panic in such a way?" Collingwood asked with no clue.

"You couldn't see it?!" Rodeo said.

"No, I only saw the hoof marks."

"You didn't see a horse with red-orange eyes, a flaming tail and mane run past you?" Evan asked.

"That's what you three saw."

""Yes!""

Carlos nods.

"No, I didn't, but why is it chasing Green and Buck?"

Rodeo shrugged, "I have no idea. But we got to help them."

The three nod and start following the hoove mark trail.

Meanwhile, Green who was still carrying Amelia was still running away from the invisible being who was leaving hoove marks on the floor.

"I need a place to hide."

He then saw an elevator in front of him, so he entered it and decided to go to the underground parking lot. He sits on the floor trying to catch his breath and looks at Amelia who is still in his arms, who seems to be asleep maybe due to the heat exhausting her.

"Yep, she's asleep alright."
