Mari looked out her window, all noise around her, seeming to disappear. She was lost in thought, her mind replaying her memories last night. The body of Anabelle, laying limp on the floor, the piercing sound of a gun, and the blood leaking out of her body.
She had only met the woman, but even so she still can't help but cry at her fate. She was their, hiding. Mari could have helped, but she hid, and this infuriated her. She had powers, she had magic, maybe she could have done something. Why didn't she do something!
'Why did you sit back, why did you let her die...'
The thought kept repeating in her head, each time, a flash of Anabelle's body would appear in her mind. Mari's eyes started to leak tears, everything that has happened to her, finally sinking in.
Why did this have to happen, why does it have to be her? Mari was contemplating her decision, she was struggling, but Anabelle's body was the last straw. She couldn't handle it anymore, she jumped into her bed and pushed her face into her pillow.
She groaned, wiping her tears away. She couldn't keep crying, she needed to finish this, but how?
She had finally realize that all the things she did were just a wild goose chase. She had no idea where she was going, and she wasn't getting any closer to solving this. If only someone were here to help her, but no one was here....not even Lloyd. It was now the third day, she had to finish this, but she needs help.
"Oh where are you....."
She grumbled, Lloyd was gone, where is he!? Mari finally froze, Lloyd's gone, no one's going to help her.
"I'm all alone..."
She quietly muttered to herself, the line repeating in her head. The thought was soon interrupted when a light shone brightly, illuminating her room.
"What the..."
Mari stood up, examining her room for the source. Her eyes soon landed on her backpack, and her eyes widened. "The amulet!" Mari yelled, she ran to her backpack and took the now growing necklace. "I almost forgot about you"
Mari sat at her bed, she watched as the light dimmed until it was now a faint glow. She looked at it deeply, her concentration broken by a noise behind her. She looked behind to see Izzy looking at her, her dress still bloodied and her hair disheveled, but her mouth was smiling. She was looking at Mari, her smile, feeling almost warm and comforting.
"Hello, Mari" she said quietly "I'm sorry I put you up to this, I didn't to get you hurt"
"N-no, I'm fine, It's Anabelle, your sister....she's dead" Mari hesitated to tell her the news, but she did anyway. Izzy nodded her head, as if she already knew, she walked closer to Mari.
"I know, I just saw her" Izzy's face was now looking grim "But, It's ok, I knew it was gonna happen, after all they wouldn't let her survive" Izzy lowered her head, Mari on the other hand, perked up.
"Those people, their after us"
"Yeah, they were"
"Who are they?"
Izzy's face darken, she remembered how she died. How the man's hands grabbed her neck. Mari tried to touch her, but her hand just passed through.
"I'm sorry, if I can't comfort you right now"
"It's ok...."
Izzy wiped her face, tears were starting to stream down from it. "Now, going back to my death, if you are not ready for it, it's ok for you stop"
"What do you mean?"
"I may not have been able to contact you lately, but I know when your suffering. I don't you get hurt anymore"
"No...It's not like that. I'm just new to this, and Lloyd's not even here, I'm all alone..."
Mari covered her face, Izzy looked at her and touched the amulet. The amulet grew brighter until it was radiating with light.
"Wear the amulet, Mari. I have something to show you"
Mari took the amulet and wore it, Izzy soon instructed for her to close her eyes and concentrate. Mari nodded, she sat on her bed and focused.
"Let's do this"
Izzy's hands entered Mari's body, Mari shook at the feeling, it was like getting a chill all over your body. The hands, she felt it moving around until it stopped and grabbed hold of something. All of a sudden Mari felt like being pulled, as if all the life is being sucked out.
Izzy pulled and out from her hands was Mari, this time she looked like Izzy, like a ghost. Mari shrieked, she looked behind, to see her body on her bed, unmoving.
"Am I dead!"
"No, your not. Your soul has just separated itself from your body"
Mari nodded, she was getting used to this magic stuff. When she looked at herself, she was wearing the same outfit as her body, she was floating, and when she stared at the mirror she had no reflection.
"Come on Mari"
Izzy grabbed Mari's hand, she led him towards the mirror. Izzy touched the mirror, the glass rippled at the touch of her fingers, like water.
Izzy glanced at Mari, before pushing Mari into the mirror.
Mari looked around to see her self get enveloped by the mirror. She was now flying through empty space, when a hand grabbed her and pulled her. The empty space was now disappearing, replaced by clouds and stars, many, many stars.
"See those stars, Mari"
Mar turned around to see Izzy staring up, her eyes reflecting the light of the sky.
"Yeah"
"Those are the souls of people, people like us"
"You mean, people with magic?"
"Yes"
Izzy led Mari to a cloud, she sat and gestured Mari to do the same. Mari could feel the cloud's softness covering her body.
"But how is this possible, Lloyd said magic was almost non-existent in our world"
"It's almost non-existent, well now it is"
"What does that mean?"
"There was magic a long time ago, but now thanks to the modern era and those people. Magic has totally disappeared. Only a hand few such as yourself have magic in their blood. You were lucky enough to have yours awaken"
"So our world had magic, and now it's gone. Those people, their killing us"
"I don't know what their motives our, they are very dangerous. That's why your free to not do what I ask of you"
Mari shook her hand and stood, Izzy followed her as she walked right back to where they came from.
"Izzy, you asked for my help and I'm gonna give it you"
"Thank you so much Mari, now here's some advice, go back to the house. Go that symbol, beside that symbol is a button. Press it and grab the item inside of it"
"What's the item for?"
"It's the only thing that can help me. I know it's to late for my justice but at least someone got to know my story"
Mari smiled and hugged Izzy, their hug lasting for a couple minutes longer. Mari opened her eyes to see her body slowly brighten up, covered by a pale greenish light.
"What is this?"
"It's your magic Mari....you really have a powerful energy"
Mari chuckled at the compliment. Izzy soon led her back to the exit. There was a portal leading to her room, Mar said goodbye as she jumped through the portal.
Her spirit soon arrived at her room, and was now hovering over her body. She breathed deeply and flew straight into her body. Mari's body moved and shook until her eyes opened. She stood up and clutched her neck, she was coughing from from that "out of body experience"
Mari stood up and immediately realize something was different. Her body, it felt more energetic, as if she was full recharge. Mari raised her hand and a light soon emitted from her fingers. The vines around her window grew rapidly, it crawled through the walls until it fully covered her roof.
In just a few seconds her room was now filled with leaves, Mari jerked back. Usually plants take a lot longer to grow, she stared at her hand, maybe what happened earlier gave her a power up boost.
Mari we t to her closet and changed her outfit, she walked out of her room and went down to the living room. She saw her mother watching tv, her dad was working today.
"Morning"
"Morning, sweety"
Her mom smiled at her, Mari told her she had somewhere to go to and her mom agreed to let her go. She kissed her mom and exited their house.

Mari was no in front of the house from before, their were "for sale" signs on the front, with cars parked at the entrance. She watched as the door of the house opened revealing a woman, probably the realtor.
She closed the door and got in her car, she drove off and disappeared into the road. Mari quickly ran to the house and towards the back door. She turned knobbed and it opened!
She entered the house and went to the living room, right there on the wall was the symbol. Mari traced her hands around it, when she would reach the center a jolt of electricity would hit her finger. She looked beside the symbol, searching for the button.
She was feeling for it with her hands, she stroked her fingers until she felt a bump on the wall. Mari pressed it and metal "click" sounded behind the wall.
The symbol brightened, until the walls disappeared, revealing an old cabinet. Inside the cabinet was a stick, it was made out of hard wood and had a sharped point in the end. Along its body were runes and symbols.
Mari examine the stick closer when all of a sudden everything went dark.

"Mari!"
Mari opened her eyes, she found herself back in the astral place, but something was different. The clouds were darker and there were no stars. The sky was bathed in red, the entire atmosphere was off.
She looked around, it was quiet, eerily quiet. She stood up and saw Izzy looking at her from a distance.
"Hey!" she creamed out "What's happening!?"
"Mari, I'm so sorry"
"What do you mean?"
"Those people, they got you!"
Izzy grabbed her shoulders and stared directly at Mari.
"You need to escape! I'm to weak to help you. Get the stick you found and go to the woods. Find the tree where I was hanged and look for a rune in the tree. Use the stick and stab it"
Soon the entire place place started to blur and Izzy's face faded away.
"Wait!"

Mari opened her eyes to find herself in a wooden room. It was empty, the only thing it had was a window.
Mari moved her body, but something stopped her. She was chained up to the ground, her arms having various red patches. Mari pushed off the chains, but it didn't budge.
She finally had enough and summoned her magic, but as soon as she did, the chains begun burning. Mari hissed at the pain and stopped her magic. The chains returned back to normal, and another red patch was seen on her wrist.
Mari looked around for anything, but there was nothing. She closed her eyes when someone opened the door.
"Looks like your awake"
Mari's eyes widened, this voice, it's just like the woman's from the hospital. Mari gathered her courage raised her head, only to see the woman from before, the one that she thought was the realtor.
"Why are you doing this?"
The woman sighed and walked closer to Mari.
"I'm just following in my family's foot steps, I mean father successfully killed that thing....but what about the others?"
"Father....your that man's daughter, the one who killed Elizabeth"
The woman only chuckled and opened the door, before she walked out, she took a glance at Mari.
"I really don't want to hurt you, but the world's far better off without people like you"
The woman exited the room and closed the door. Mari fell to the ground and breathed heavily. She can't die right now, she needs to escape, but how.....
Mari turned around to see the chains holding her shake, it was cracking! Mari stood up watching with curiosity as the chain's shaking grew violent. Soon the chains shattered into prices and Mari was now free.
Mari stood there dumbfounded, she was definitely not the one who did that. She looked around but found no one, she decided to shrug it off and get out. First she needed to find that staff.
Mari escaped the room, she was in the second floor, she walked down the hallway and down the stairs. Once she arrived at the first floor, she could hear chattering in the other room.
Mari quietly walked pass the room and into the living room, Mari breathed a sigh of relief when she found the stick hanging on a shelf. Without wasting time she grabbed the stick and headed for the backdoor.
"Hey!!" someone yelled "The girl escaped"
Mari turned around to see three people looking at her with shocked expressions, one of them was the woman from earlier.
"How is that possible? those chains were designed to stop magic.."
"Well, you shouldn't underestimate me!"
Mari waved her hands and vines shout out from the windows, the ceiling and the cracks within the walls. It surrounded them and soon covered their entire bodies. Mari chuckled and busted the door opened.
She ran out the door and towards the woods, the sound of the people slowly fading away.
