During my time serving on a WLR class Star destroyer, I grew to love the working people the average joe you might call them I also grew to love the military but that all changed when I went to my first skirmish with a rebel planet.
OPERATION CRIMSON RIVER
My first skirmish was on a small planet called Vuamlus it was a rough planet and the gravitational pull was of the average planet that was commonly colonized (Earth) there was no vegetation the only thing a person could see was the rough rock outcroppings scattered all across the rough terrain it was like walking across a mountain. There was barely any cover except the rock outcrops. I had just got out of basic and headed towards a comfortable officer rank on an unknown planet in the middle of nowhere. That's when the ball dropped and I had accidentally pissed off a high-ranking member of the oligarchy. Let's just say he didn't like that I was with his daughter and that's when I was chased off the planet and hunted for 2 months until finally I was caught. I was given two decisions by her father either I signed up for the RANGERS or I would be an "example". While he said it was a choice, we both knew it wasn't, so I joined up with the RANGERS. Two years of rough training ended me up on a WLR class Star destroyer and I was to be the first one to land on Vuamlus. I was loaded into a drop pod with my gear there were eight of us we were to be the clearing team so that the troop carriers could come down nice and safe so that they could quickly unload. The eight pods were quickly loaded onto a drop-ship which would leave the Star destroyer which orbited in the Exosphere of the planet. We would dive down and breach through the Mesosphere until they would completely pull up from a nose dive at around 60 miles up while still keeping the speed the drop pods would then be individually dropped. The drop pods would start to fall to earth reaching around 145 mph before breaching the stratosphere it would slow down to around 110 before breaching the troposphere and finally landing hard cracking the earth. This was not a silent mission so as soon as I came out of my sleep and started to open the pod I was met with gunfire. The first shots hit the front of the pod I kept working at the pod I was not worried about the shots as the pod was bulletproof what I was truly worried about was them rolling around with explosives. I did not want to die on my first mission.
