King Mark brows furrowed as he stares at his mother, who finally climb up the hill to meet him.
"You're to kiss her first right in front of us, before we leave, to know that you have accepted her as your mate!" Queen Melissa informs him in a serious tone and he frowns.
He stares to Chums who was smiling and to the large crowd who stood in anticipation waiting for him to pull Chums into his arms and kiss her, but he stood still and couldn't bring himself to do it.
He thought, why should he be taking orders from his mother, beside he's the new king and he can also change their ancestral orders as he has been crowned King.
"No mother!" he said surprising the whole crowd who frowns immediately as the smile on their faces disappeared.
"I will only kiss her indoors and that an order from me!" he deadpanned too surprising his mother, as she noticed he was reminding her that he's the new king and she cannot control him like before again. She glares at him and didn't want to argue with him in public so he doesn't lose his respect. She sighs and turns to face the crowd.
"Fina, Good night to you all and thanks for honoring our invitation, you can all go back home to your houses and happy festive celebration to you all!", She immediately turned and started walking down while the crowds turns and started leaving the palace.
Chums frowns and even Stephanie also frowned as Chums almost bursted out crying.
She knew some of her friends will mock her that the crown prince didn't accept her, but she hopes he proof them wrong by impregnating her and showing to them that he only didn't want to kiss her in public.
She sob silently and started walking down the hill with the rest of the royal family as they made their way down to the field passing thru the Labour-house and down to the royal castle.
King Mark didn't stare back at her either as he waited to be sure all the elders and guest has left the royal palace.
Steve stood outside waiting and after all the guest has left and gone back to their various homes, King Mark steps back into the hall downstairs and meet his mother, sisters and new bride Chums waiting for him in the hall and he already knew why the stood waiting to question his decision.
The elders has left with the priest and the palace became calm with only the sounds of bats and owl sounding and chirping outside the castle.
"Mark!" Queen Melissa thunders as soon as he step in.
"King Mark!" he corrected his mother as he walked up toward the throne and sat down on it facing them.
"What was the meaning of that Mark?, You have always humiliated us and still, you didn't fail to do it again in front of the large crowd!" Queen Melissa thundered as they had loud voices, something he didn't also like as if one person was passing outside, the person will be hearing all of their discussion due to their loud voices.
"Mark am talking to you!" Queen Melissa turn and face him, while Sarah, Stephanie and Chums stood in front of him watching him as he sat on the throne staring at them, with his eyes switching colours from gold to black.
"Mother, can you just let me be for once. I am now the king and my decision cannot be questioned by anyone, not even you mother!" he warned them.
"Hmm!, You lie Mark. You being crown today doesn't make any difference and I will not fold my arms and watch you divide our people and cause chaos amongst them. You're to do the needful as that's expected of you as their new king. I will leave tonight as a warning to you" she informed him again.
"Hmm" His brows furrowed as he stare to mother, she turns and walk towards the corridor where the steps leading upstairs was, She stops and turn back to stare at him..
"Make sure you seal the mating bond tonight with Chums by mating with her!" She informs him and disappeared into the corridor, going upstairs to her chambers and his hand tightened into a fist as he stares back to Chums who stood smiling at him.
There were burning lanterns in the hall, so he could see their faces clearly as he has sharp eyes.
He stare to Sarah and she sighs and started walking away too. He wanted to call her back but he thought against it and decide to leave their discussion for another day.
Stephanie folds her arm around her chest and stares to him.
"Brother.." she began to say, but he caught her off, not wanting to listen to them anymore.
"Is late now Stephanie, Until tomorrow, Goodnight" he dismissed her, and she swallowed back all she wanted to say to him
She look to stare at Chums and to him, and being the stubborn one, she refuse to leave.
"Brother I just wanted to ask about Chums, As she's now your mate, she's not supposed to still remain in the guest room downstairs" Stephanie said, to remind him of their custom and he nod.
"I know, but it's already late now, why not wait till tomorrow, to know about that. The maids will prepare a room for her upstairs but for tonight she will have to use the guest room" he replied.
"But why will she be in the guest room tonight instead of your room?. Ain't you going to mate with her?" Stephanie shamelessly asked him, and his brows furrowed as he stares away from her.
"You don't question my orders Stephanie, you can return back to your chambers," he dismissed her, still sitting on his throne.
Stephanie sighs and stares at Chums in pity. She couldn't understand her brother either, but she was glad he already accepted Chums as his mate. She turns and walk back into the corridor leaving Chums behind, in the hall with him.
Chums sigh and continue to stare at him as he sat on the throne, staring in deep thoughts...
She couldn't understand him and wonders how their marriage will work, if he continued behaving cold and unfilial to her.
She thought she couldn't have accepted to marry him either and she bursted out crying as she was already sobbing.
He stares up to her face as he sat on the throne facing her.
"Why're you still here?" he asked, as she sobbed and shook her head.
"Ain't we going to do it?" she asked facing downward, not wanting to stare up to his face.
"No!" he said in a cold voice and stood up
"We're not going to do anything and the earlier you understand that, the better for us," he replied in a much colder voice as he approached her and walk round her in a circle.
Her knees weakened and she almost feel due to his closeness, but he immediately caught her and help her stand back properly and quickly let go off her.
He shook his head and quickly took the stairs going upstairs to his chamber as ever since he saw the white looking human, and held her neck, seeing and touching any woman awaken the beast in him, and made him burn.
Touching Chums and preventing her from falling made him long to own and claim a female, but he couldn't claim Chums. She's his bride but not his heart desires.
He quickly walk up the stairs to his room and close the door behind him as he stepped into his room.
It was already past midnight and the day would soon break and he hadn't even slept yet.
He pace up and down in his chamber as his desire burns harder. Steve knocks and before Steve could step in to speak with him, Chums pushed her way into his chambers crying and his eyes darkened as he stares to her.
"What's it Steve?" He asked Steve first as Chums closed the door behind her and stares downward.
"Your majesty, I only wanted to inform you about her," Steve replied
"Is okay, You can leave us" he dismissed Steve and Chums continue standing in his chamber, not knowing how to approach him.
He walks back to his bed and sat and he ask her, "What do want here?."
Chums stammered, "I want us to do it."
He stare to his and stood up, walking up his his wardrobe, he remove his coat and kept it a seat beside his wardrobe.
Chums swallowed as her eyes travelled up his smooth chiseled chest. She gulped as she couldn't take her eyes of him ogling at him.
He turned to face her.
"Chums I meant every word I said about us not mating and I am serious about that."
Chums swallowed not even listening to him as she was beginning to imagine how his body will feel on her.
"Chums are you listening to all am saying at all?" He asked her seeing her ogling at him as lost in thought.
She smiled, "Yes, Am just saying even though is once let's just do it to seal our bond," she said.
"No!. There's no bond to seal, you should leave my chamber and returned back to your room. Tomorrow I will ask the slaves to around the second vacant room upstairs for you, and don't you dare to tell me mother that we didn't mate. Pretend like we did!" he said in his usual cold voice.
