*Lily POV*
There was so much noise. There were so many people in the room that I hadn’t even taken note of before. But I became insanely aware of everything that was going on then.
The guards around us moved quickly, sealing the inner room.
“It’s not safe to move anyone,” one of them spoke with a note of finality. “We need to secure the route before we can determine the way through.”
Just then, there was commotion from the other side of the room. And there was clear fighting and destruction happening in the outer room of the war council. The guards gathered all of us tightly together and then stood before us.
We could all fight. But there was no question that their skill far outranked ours. And there was no telling what was happening on the other side of the door.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. I had just transformed for the first time less than twenty-four hours ago, my body was still wracked with pain but I was not going to allow Hawke and Vanessa to win.
