This did not even seem like revenge. It was clearly a case of sadistic torture.

Harlan's body fell heavily from mid-air, and it landed on the ground like a pile of mud. Except for his head, he could not move any part of his entire body. Furthermore, all his bones were shattered by Jacob's blows.
Blood gushed from Harlan's nose and mouth. His face was hideous.
"Kill me… Please kill me…"
Harlan's eyes were full of hatred as he shouted, glaring at Jacob. With every shout, blood spurted from his mouth.
Harlan was better off dead and he hoped Jacob would just kill him.
Jacob had no wish to let Harlan die so quickly. He wanted to keep him alive and finally, he would use the Focus Technique to absorb all Harlan's martial energy for his own use.
At this point in time, Jacob had almost used up the spiritual energy in draconic essence.
