With a faint smile on his face, Jacob sipped his tea in silence.
"What are you two talking about?" Right then, Stefanie had returned to the table.
"Oh! Nothing!" Melissa answered hastily.
Evidently, Melissa didn't want Stefanie to know about it.
"Jacob, Mr. Gunn asked you to go over. I'll stay here to catch up with Melissa!" Stefanie patted his shoulder.
"Oh, all right!" Jacob nodded before walking toward Dalton.
At that moment, Dalton was alone with a middle-aged man at the table. As soon as Jacob arrived at the table, Dalton immediately introduced him to Adrian, "Mr. Sullen, this is General Adrian Lynch from the Department of Justice in Shallow Falls!"
"Hi, General Lynch!" Jacob greeted respectfully.
In response, Adrian just nodded and gestured for Jacob to take a seat.
