All these years, Irma had always taken great care of Elena, never once reprimanding her.
While they were not related by blood, they were just like family.
Irma seemingly sensed Elena's anguish. Her initially glacial and forbidding look eased slightly, and she coaxed, "Go out first, Elena. I really have something important to say to Jacob. He even has trouble standing up at present, so he wouldn't be able to lift his weapon even if you were to give it to him. So, just leave it for now."
"Okay." Elena nodded before glancing at Jacob. Jacob also motioned for her to step out.
