Chapter 8 - Finding a place to stay

Don't know if this is a warning or not but there will be a time in the story early on when an animal gets killed.

———————————————————————

As the sun hits Floresco's eyes, she knows it's time to get up and start her day. After resting from all the running, she gets up and slowly walks to the entrance of the cave. As she looks over the forest, she thinks to herself.

(Alright, let's go hunt, the leopard way.)

She begins to walk down the mountain, taking it slow since she needs more training to use her body effectively.

Besides learning how to walk, run, and jump, she hasn't done much else to get used to her body.

(After getting food, I should focus on improving my physical abilities,) she thinks to herself. (Jumping from one place to another should not be a problem, and it will give me an advantage when I'm battling someone.)

While she was about halfway down the mountain from the cave, she smelled the scent of an animal and went down the mountain a bit faster but also being careful to not fall or trip over her paws or a little rock.

As she was now closer to the forest, which was only 15 meters |49.21 feet| away and slowed down to a walk, and used her nose to find the scent she smelled earlier, so she knew where that animal was.

Catching the scent again, Floresco goes to it and hides in the bushes to see what type of animal it is, it looked like a deer and there were three of them.

(The leopard's way to hunt is to ambush the prey. They get as close as they can and then sprint at them to catch them and then bite the neck as a way to kill them) thought Floresco

Floresco slowly moved closer to them when she was only 5 meters |16.40 feet| away.

Floresco looked at the deer and slowly went closer to them so that she wouldn't have to sprint

One of the deer looked up, as Floresco stopped right where she was and did not move, the deer looked around for some time before the deer went back to eating grass, thinking that no predators were near it.

As Floresco made herself ready to pounce. She locked her eyes on the one that was the closest to her and then she sprinted to the deer.

As soon as Floresco went out of hiding all three of them ran away and hoped that they would make it out alive.

Floresco ran after one of them and closed in on the deer as she jumped on the back of the deer, and found out it was a lot harder to stay on top of a moving deer, that was running for its life.

She hangs in there and climes to the neck where she bites the deer's neck and after a few seconds, the deer starts to lose the ability to stand as it falls.

Floresco just keeps holding on to its neck, until it stops moving, Floresco lets go thinking that the deer is dead.

Floresco let go of the neck, only to bite into its throat and drag it to a tree that looked like, it could support the weight, of the deer and herself.

Floresco climbed the tree and surprisingly she managed to get up the three with the deer in her mouth, she let go of the throat.

(I thought that I could not take the pray up a tree since I still don't have that great control over my body but maybe I underestimated how much control I have since I could sprint and jump up on the deer and hold on as I made my way to the neck) thought Floresco (well I should eat)

Floresco then went to the stomach and started eating and surprisingly the meat tasted really good even if it was raw.

After Floresco was done eating, she jumped down to the ground and thought that she should find a place to make her own.

(Leopards use claw marking and scratch trees and use scent marks since they have sensitive noses) thought Floresco (probably should choose a place that has good food sources and a river or pond so I can always drink from it or swim in it)

A time skip

After Floresco placed on a mountain where a pond and that there were many trees it made a small forest and the ground was filled with green grass, where there were many herbivores around the place.

Luckily there looked to be no claw marks of any kind or scent marks, so this was a completely free-for-all place.

(Do I also follow how leopards usually make their dens when they have cups or should I just make my one like how I want?) thought Floresco

(Taking that leopards usually sleep in trees or on big rocks and that they often hunt during dawn and dusk and spend most of their time sleeping) thought Floresco

Floresco thought for a long time about what to do next since she wanted to have a place she could sleep and of all things, she wanted a place that was high but also close to the water so that she didn't have to walk for a long time. In the end, she chose to nap on top of a tree for the time being, and then later on she would use her claws to make a den, like how wolves and bears make them.

Floresco looked at the sky and saw that the sun was halfway to the top, feeling happy with what she had done so far she took a nap.

After a long time, Floresco wakes up again and she just wants to take another nap since she still feels full but she then remembers that she would mark this place as her so she stands up and jumps down to the ground where she walks here and there where she leaves claw marks or scent marks.

After doing that she goes to the tree again and climbs up and then finds the perfect place for a nap, as she then again takes a nap.
