Edmundo is seen waking up from a nap before picking up his sword and clipping it to his belt as he jumps to his feet and runs down a road as buildings loom up behind him like pictures in a book. Wakfu...

After Edmundo's fury awakened by the Demonic Roses calmed down and he and Amália were cured with the antidote, the journey once again continues while our heroes are fully rested and have a full stomach.

But something was wrong, as silence took over the trip as everyone simply walked, worrying about such a change.

Deep in the forest, the sun was slowly setting while Yugo and everyone else were heading in the direction the magic map said, but they soon decided to stop to sleep.

Dinner was served and everyone ate in peace and quiet, but such calm and stillness was bothering the group and the reason for that was only one thing.

Edmundo's silence.

Since they left Vilarejo Obecalp, the young red-haired man hadn't said a single word, whether to tell a story, tell a joke or sing a song to cheer up the group as he always used to do, simply that, nothing but silence.

It didn't take long for the others to notice the swordsman's sudden change in behavior and they tried to find out what was wrong with him, but it didn't do much good.

Ruel told and repeated his stories over and over again, but in vain as the redhead didn't seem to even be listening or if he did, he at least didn't seem to care much.

Percedal in turn was not liking the silent behavior of his brother in arms, rival in love and best friend, after all he liked talking to Edmundo since the two were very similar and had similar points of view on things.

But if there's one thing an Iop doesn't have besides a lot of intelligence, it's patience with things, and that of the young Guardian of Shushu had already been exhausted countless hours ago.

Deciding to get something out of his partner, Iop tried to start a conversation when he tried to ask a question.

Percedal: Uh... There, Edmundo. Can I ask you something man?

However, the swordsman just remained silent without even daring to look at his friend.

Edmundo:...

Percedal: Was that a yes or no?

But nothing came.

Edmundo: ...

Percedal: I'll take that as a yes. OK? *whispers* Which of the girls do you think is prettier? Evangelyne or Amália?

The Iop looks at his friend for a moment and when he sees that he doesn't get any response, he speaks again.

Percedal: Hmm, I understand, so you're undecided?

Edmundo: ...

Percedal: Can't choose?

Percedal: It's difficult to decide, right?

The lack of response soon began to get on Iop's nerves.

Percedal: Dude, can you hear me?

Edmundo: ...

Percedal: Did you go deaf?

Edmundo: ...

The Iop sighed in frustration when he saw that he had no answer before getting up.

Percedal: Okay then bro, I'll come back when you want to talk.

He soon walked away awkwardly as he was left talking to himself by his best friend who had the same expression on his face, looking calm and thoughtful, but at the same time sad.

Percedal walked over to the others who were watching his failed attempt and sat down next to Evangelyne who looked at Edmundo sitting alone with the same expression he had since they participated in Obecalp.

Young Cra liked peace and quiet, but the way the redhead was acting was starting to worry her. She didn't see much humor in Edmundo's jokes, but more bothersome than that was the stillness and the lack of the happy glow that only he had and that was making Cra uncomfortable.

That's when she turned to the others, catching their attention.

Evangelyne: Okay. Is someone going to say something?

The others, on the other hand, decided to make fools of themselves.

Yugo: About what?

Evangelyne: Well, about the obvious.

Ruel: What's obvious?

Evangelyne: I'm talking... Grrrr!!!

Cra gestures towards the lone swordsman.

Evangelyne: I'm talking about him! Ed hasn't said a word since we left Obecalp and it's been days!

Amália: As if we didn't know. He's been... very quiet this whole time. There is something very wrong there.

Percedal: Sorry guys, I tried to talk about it, but he really doesn't want to say anything. Maybe he became mute and deaf.

Amália: *sarcastic* Really? Dumb and deaf? Just like that?

Ruel: Nonsense! I bet he'll start talking if I give him one of these.

Old Enutrof stood up and walked over to Edmundo with a single Kama in his hand as he began to wave the coin in front of the redhead's face.

Ruel: Hey Edmundo~. If you say something, I can give you a kam-

Ruel: MY KAMA!!!!

It didn't take a second for old Enutrof to run desperately into the forest in search of his precious piece of gold.

The others just watched the old man run after the coin while sighing tiredly and shaking their heads in annoyance at the idea not working.

It was Princess Sadida's turn to try something as she stood up and walked over to the silent redhead before gently placing a hand on his shoulder and getting his attention.

Amália: Are you okay? There's something wrong?

Edmundo, as expected, didn't say a single word as he just looked away from Sadida when she turned her face to the side.

Already tired of that silence strike Evangelyne growled in frustration as she groaned in annoyance. However, an idea soon came to her mind.

Evangelyne: Since you don't want to speak for good, you will speak for evil.

Cra picked up her bow before pulling back the string and aiming at the boy as she fired a non-lethal arrow. The energy projectile cut through the air, heading straight for Edmundo's head, who, because he was looking the other way, couldn't see what was coming.

At the last moment, when the arrow was about to hit Edmundo's head, he, out of pure instinct, raised his hand and grabbed the arrow in the air with just a few centimeters left before it hit him.

Amália: E-Evangelyne! You could have hurt him!

Evangelyne: Don't worry, it wasn't a lethal arrow, now watch, this should get some reaction out of him.

Young Cra and the others looked expectantly at the swordsman waiting for him to say something. Edmundo, who was still holding the arrow, turned his gaze to the energy projectile in his hand before the arrow fell apart in his grip. The redhead just took a deep breath as he lowered his hand, opening and closing it as small grains of energy from the arrow fell from his hand like grains of sand.

As expected, the boy looked away from the others again while his back was turned to them, leaving the blonde girl confused.

Evangelyne: What...?

Amália: Well, that obviously didn't work.

Percedal: I'm starting to get really worried about him. I still think he's mute.

Edmundo took a deep breath as he felt a cold breeze approaching the place where they were and without saying a single word the boy with the white belt stood up before walking towards the forest to collect firewood to make a fire.

Evangelyne: Okay, now I'm worried.

[Timeskip with Amália placing a pink flower on Edmundo's head while he had an eyebrow raised, but left the flower there only for Evangelyne to roll her eyes with a hint of jealousy towards the two.]

The moon made its way towards the sky as everyone found a place to sleep, Edmundo could be seen sitting on the floor with his legs crossed with only his deepest thoughts to keep him company.

He took his katana from his belt before looking at the dragon symbol engraved on the scabbard and running his fingers through it. The redhead then unsheathed the sword just enough to see the mark engraved on the blade, he observed the symbol carefully as he saw his reflection reflected in the blade.

The swordsman looks around and when he sees that everyone is asleep he takes his hand to his forehead and unties his white sash before touching his bare forehead only to feel something that he hides from others.

Edmundo sighed tiredly when he touched that part of his body, but he didn't have much time to worry about it when he heard a voice calling him.

???: Hey...

Upon hearing the voice the red haired boy became alert and quickly grabbed his headband and quickly tied it back around his forehead, having done so he looked out of the corner of his eyes to see Evangelyne standing behind him.

Evangelyne: Mind if I sit with you?

The swordsman just responded with a wave showing that he didn't care while the young Cra sat next to him wrapping her arms around her knees feeling a little cold before looking at the jokester boy.

Evangelyne: Are you okay?

Edmundo nodded in response, but the blonde girl knew he was lying.

Evangelyne: You know you can talk to me, right? We're friends, aren't we?

He just hummed in response as Evangelyne sighed at his silence, but the boy wasn't in the mood to talk and just sat there, looking at the ground when he felt a sudden weight place on his shoulder.

Evangelyne didn't need him to say anything to know what was going on in the redhead's head, a simple look in his eyes was more than enough for her to discover what he had.

Evangelyne: You know it wasn't your fault, right?

As expected by young Cra, Edmundo's gaze and expression wavered for a moment, showing that he still felt bad about having attacked his friends in the previous episode.

Evangelyne: You're pretty silly sometimes, you know, Airhead? I know you didn't want to attack us, after all you would never hurt me, right?

The swordsman hummed again in response and Cra looked at him with a small sincere smile.

Evangelyne: I don't know what you saw at that time to mess with you that much, but know that I'm here if you need me, okay?

He nodded before looking at Cra and giving her a small, grateful smile.

A cold breeze blew through the place and the blonde girl shivered as she felt the icy wind brush against her skin. Edmundo upon seeing this quickly took off his tunic before covering the girl with it so that she would stay warm.

Evangelyne smiled at his gesture as she felt her cheeks burn a little as she closed her eyes feeling warm from the cold being close to the redhead.

A short time later, young Cra fell asleep in the arms of the young adventurer who carefully picked her up and laid her on his lap so that she would have more comfort during her sleep.

Edmundo ran his hand over Cra's cheeks, removing a strand of hair from her face when he finally spoke after being silent for so long.

Edmundo: Sleep well, Eva.

Evangelyne just smiles in her sleep when she hears his voice again.

Edmundo soon felt the tiredness start to affect him and when he was about to fall into a deep sleep he felt another weight on his shoulder when he opened one eye and saw Yugo, sleeping with his head against him while the redhead finally smiled slightly and closed it. eyes going to dreamland.

He slowly opens his eyes from his peaceful sleep, despite not sleeping in a warm bed, but that no longer made any difference to him, but something was different.

Unfortunately, he didn't get to finish his sentence when the croissant golem's remaining arm hit him with extreme force, knocking him away.

Cra and the others looked with concern at the redhead who was groaning in pain on the ground.

Yugo, who was still on top of the monster, looked at his new "big brother" with concern in his eyes before almost being hit in the face by a rolling pin.

The person controlling the bread monster again tried to hit Yugo several times with the rolling pin, luckily the boy managed to defend himself and dodge the blows before creating a portal at the moment that he would be attacked again, which resulted in the boy in the blue hat managing to take the rolling pin from your opponent.

The ninja was surprised by the boy's powers and soon jumped into a mill to try to outwit the boy. The ninja started laughing at Yugo, but the boy wasn't willing to let that stranger get away with it, not after hurting his memoryless friend and attacking innocent people.

The boy in the hat then made one of his portals as he jumped into it and then exited through another that opened above one of the windmill's propellers where he began to chase the ninja in white.

As he did so a loud bang was heard as everyone turned their gaze to see the croissant golem destroyed the warehouse with its remaining arm.

Amália soon decided to act when she made several vines grow from the ground and grab the creature's legs, immobilizing it.

Ruel soon took this opportunity to throw his shovel, which cut through the air, spinning before completely slicing the trunk of the croissant, which fell to the ground, reduced to slices.

However, the slices soon began to come together and upon seeing this, Evangelyne quickly drew her bow before shooting a fire arrow to burn the croissant to dust.

What no one expected, however, was that one of the burning slices would start moving before jumping into the warehouse and setting the place on fire, leaving the baker in a panic.

The little ninja laughed as he saw that he had gotten what he wanted before throwing a smoke bomb to the ground and disappearing from everyone's sight as the warehouse continued to burn in flames.

However, the building collapsed to the ground as everyone felt bad for the baker.

He laughs a little at his joke as Evangelyne rolls her eyes before walking up to him and pulling a splinter out of his shoulder which made the swordsman groan in pain as a shiver of pain ran through his body.

Edmundo: Oh! Slow down woman!

Evangelyne: Slow down, you're always hurting yourself and you still send lame jokes to make it seem like it was nothing!

Edmundo: And what's the problem, Elfa? This is who I am, deal with it.

Evangelyne: It seems like you hurt yourself like that just to get attention.

Edmundo: And it's working very well, hehe.

Cra looks away from him with an annoyed huff while a light blush appears on her cheeks, causing the redhead to get a silly smile on his face. But someone wasn't too happy with the two's interaction.

Percedal and Edmundo were best friends, Partners, brothers in arms, the brother that the other never had, rivals who fought to be the strongest, but they were also rivals in love fighting for the heart of the same girl and Iop didn't want to be left behind. and risk losing Evangelyne to the red-haired swordsman.

Knowing that he was falling behind, the young Guardian of Shushu decided to start charging as well before looking at the young Cra and speaking with a smile.

Percedal: Hey, I got hurt too. Don't I deserve a little attention too?

The archer just looked at him before rolling her eyes.

Evangelyne: Don't travel Iopbrain, you deserved the slap you got.

The others in the group held back their laughter while Iop gained a lifeless expression after being dumped. Edmundo then pats him on the shoulder.

Edmundo: Sorry mate, not everyone is lucky enough to be a DREAM like me. *laughter*

Evangelyne just rolled her eyes at the two boys before looking at the poor baker with a guilty look.

Evangelyne: Sorry about the fire arrow.

???: No no, it's okay... without your help, that thing could have destroyed the farm.

The poor baker continued to have a dejected expression on his face as his wife placed a comforting hand on his shoulder before turning to the group of adventurers.

???: How can we thank you? Can we offer breakfast?

[Timeskip with Percedal looking at Evangelyne to see her alone before he gets an idea when he sees some flowers before picking them up only for several bees to come out of the plant and start chasing the young Iop while Evangelyne looks at him in confusion. ]

Soon the others are seen in front of the breakfast table at Xav the baker's house, each one with an excited and hungry face, not knowing what to choose to eat among various types of bread, from sugary bread to bread with delicious cream inside. .

Edmundo, in turn, was seen playing with Xav's children who helped him remove the wood splinters from his body and every time the redhead pulled out one of the splinters he ended up making a funny face that made the two children laugh when they saw the expressions. funny things he did and the funny screams he made.

Xav and his wife Helene gained small smiles as they saw their children having fun with the young swordsman who looked at his friends to see them eating like there was no tomorrow while Evangelyne fought with Percedal for not having manners only to later eat the same way as he.

Edmundo laughed a little at that before looking at Yugo and getting his attention.

Edmundo: Yugo.

Yugo: Hmm? What?

Edmundo: Eat with your mouth closed and don't talk when you're eating.

Yugo: Oh, okay, sorry.

He takes another bite of bread, but this time chewing with his mouth closed.

Edmundo: Very well, much better. There!

He screams as he pulls out the last splinter in his face while Yugo laughs at him making the redhead get a small smile on his face.

Ruel, Amália, Evangelyne and Percedal were just eating, almost like animals while Edmundo took a loaf of bread and ate it calmly before patting Yugo and then giving the others a look that said "If Yugo grows up like one of you... I will I will slice you alive."

Xav smiled at the good interaction the swordsman seemed to have with the boy in the blue hat before speaking.

Xav: You and the boy seem very close.

Edmundo: Heh, I think so. He's like the little brother I never had. And even though I only met him a short time ago, I ended up growing fond of the boy.

Yugo: Thank you, Big Brother.

The two exchange a fist bump while giving each other their infectious smiles before the boy in the hat turns his gaze to the baker.

Yugo: Thanks for breakfast, Xav. I've never eaten such delicious bread. And at the inn the only thing my father didn't know how to make was bread...

Ruel: Well, at least you weren't the guinea pig when he first tried, right?

Yugo: Why did that little guy attack you, Xav?

Xav: It's just that he wanted to prevent me from participating in the competition.

Edmundo: What competition?

Helene: Every five years the residents organize a competition to see who makes the best bread, the winner gets to take their bread to the king of Bonta.

Yugo then raises his closed fist as he smiles.

Yugo: I'll vote for you, Xav! Oh... if you're going to participate, of course.

The baker then gained a frown as he turned his face away.

Xav: I have no chance of victory without my golden wheat flour.

Edmundo: Once again, I'm sorry about your wheat stock.

Xav: It's okay lad, you did your best to help, which reminds me you took one hell of a hit. Aren't you hurt?

Edmundo: Nah, I've already been hit harder, it has to be a thick MASS to face me. *laughter*

He laughed at his little joke while Evangelyne rolled her eyes before speaking.

Evangelyne: Too bad you don't have enough money to make jokes.

The others laughed at this while the redhead made a sulky and pouty face at Cra.

Edmundo: You don't miss the chance to BURN my wave, right Elf?

Evangelyne: I'm a Cra, I told you, shorty!

Edmundo: Don't call me shorty!

Evangelyne: Then don't call me Elf!

The two looked into each other's eyes with angry expressions, Xav and Helene watched the two before looking at each other and laughing a little, leaving the swordsman and the archer a little confused.

Evangelyne: What?

Helene: Nothing, it's just that you two remember how we were before we started dating.

Edmundo and Evangelyne blush at this before looking at each other and quickly looking away as Percedal gained a sullen expression as he saw he was being left behind.

Percedal: (Thoughts) Enjoy it while you can, Edmundo.

Xav: Anyway that old man ruined everything, without my golden flour I won't be at the top level.

Helene: Xav, this is ridiculous! You don't really believe that Ratafouine was controlling the monster, do you?

Xav: Huh? Why not?! He would do anything to be the best confectioner in the village, don't you remember that he made that plan to control the best water in the region?

Yugo and Ruel looked at each other at this as the baker held a loaf of bread and tightened his grip on it tighter and tighter.

Xav: He knows very well that the quality of the water influences the bread! But this time he won't get away with it! I go-!

At this point, the strength of Xav's grip on the bread was so strong that he ended up crushing it in his hand, which made the little baby scared and started crying. The baker's little daughter then peeked out the window of the house to see someone approaching when she realized that it was her grandfather Ratafouine and ran happily to welcome him with a strong hug that made the elderly man smile happily.

Ratafouine: Ehehe how is everyone? Who's playing with fire?

Xav: As if you didn't know!

Xav soon walked out of the house followed by the others before looking angrily at his father.

Xav: You're not a baker, you're a big-name cheat!

Helene tried to hold her husband back, but he slipped out of her grip before staring Ratafouine face to face as their noses touched and they both growled at each other.

Xav: Don't try to fool me! You're scared to face me in the competition! I'm warning you, YOU WILL PAY FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID TO ME!

Ratafouine: Now he's gone completely crazy! My son's brain turned to flour!

They would have continued to argue and exchange insults with each other, but they soon stopped when they heard a whimper as they looked to the side to see Xav's eldest daughter next to her little brother starting to cry when she saw her father and grandfather fighting being followed by the baby who also started crying.

Xav and Ratafouine looked at each other seeing what they had done before Helene fought with two.

Helene: Enough! Enough already Xav! Where have you ever seen children make themselves cry?!

He takes the children inside the house before closing the door while Yugo and the others glared at the two bakers with the exception of Edmundo who had a saddened look on his face seeing father and son fighting over such a stupid reason.

Ratafouine: You can believe it or not, son, I have nothing to do with it. I can even give you flour and water if you want to compete.

Xav: No, thank you. You can offer it to another participant!

Ratafouine: Oh, that's not cool!

With that said, the old baker left the place, leaving Xav with the others.

Percedal: Yeah, it's not that kind of thing, but it's worth the expense.

Xav watched his father leave before snorting and speaking with anger in his voice.

Xav: That old man never forgave me for wanting to open my business! He wants to make bread exactly his way!

Yugo: Really? Why? Is there another way to make bread?

Xav: What? Clear! The same way you compose a symphony or write a poem. My father was obsessed with making bread with a crispy crust, while I prefer to make my breads softer on the inside.

Xav and Yugo began to engage in conversation while the rest of the group just watched them talk.

Ruel: There you go, if I know this kid well, in a little while he'll come and say, "Hey guys! How about we give him a hand, huh, how about that?"

Percedal: Wait, help make bread? I prefer to eat and snore.

Amália: And then? We're going to have to lend a hand to the entire village, is that it?

Evangelyne: Silence, he will listen.

Ruel: Okay, this time no one will go soft. Are we in this together?

Edmundo, in turn, looked at the ground thoughtfully before letting out a long sigh that didn't go unnoticed by the others.

Ruel: Edmundo? Are you okay there kid?

Edmundo: I think so...

Amália: No, no, you're too quiet again.

Percedal: Speak up Partner, what do you have?

The swordsman sighs before looking up at the clouds in the sky before seeing a family of little birds flying as he spoke sadly.

Edmundo: I don't remember the past, who I was and who I am... Who my family was, for me that's a secret... I don't know if I ever had a father and mother or someone to call family. .. if so, I sometimes wonder if they are out there looking for me and if they miss me...

He then turns his gaze to the baker talking to Yugo before speaking.

Edmundo: And it saddens me so much to see a father and a son who could be enjoying each other's company while they still can, but instead they prefer to fight, argue and hurt each other over such an idiotic and unimportant reason.

Without him realizing it, Xav heard what the swordsman had said before looking at the redhead angrily for saying that the reason for his argument with his father was stupid.

Xav: Did I hear you right boy? You said it's a stupid and unimportant reason?

Edmundo: That's exactly what I said. And I have said.

Xav: How dare you-!

Edmundo: Before you start giving me a lecture as if you are the owner of reason here, which you obviously are not, let me tell you the real Xav the Baker who fights with his father because of some great idiocy.

The swordsman takes a few steps forward before speaking.

Edmundo: Do you think it's worth fighting with your family, hurting them and cutting ties with your father just because you both make bread differently?

Xav: Well, I-

Edmundo: Shut up, I'm not finished. Do you think it's worth wasting the time you could spend with your father arguing when you could be enjoying time with each other, smiling and even making bread together?

The swordsman turns his gaze to the ground as he continues to speak.

Edmundo: I don't remember if I ever had a father, but if I did I would be very different from you. Now Xav the baker, are you going to talk to your father and get it right with him or am I going to need to beat them both up to make them realize they're wrong?

Xav: What do you think you know about this boy?! You said yourself that you didn't have a family!

Edmundo: Dude, you don't know how lucky you are.

That sentence made Xav give him a confused look.

Edmundo: You can be with your father whenever you want. You can have dinner, talk to him. He would do anything for you! Do you know where my father is?

Xav: No...

Edmundo: Me neither!

Xav: I won't apologize when I'm not wrong!

Edmundo: Have you ever thought that there will come a time when your father will no longer be here for you to talk to him?

Xav: It won't happen to my father-!

Edmundo: It happens to everyone's father, except mine, because I don't know where he got himself!

The baker tried to think of an answer for him, but found himself at a loss for words at the moment.

Xav: Y-You don't understand, Edmundo.

Edmundo: I understand yes. You and your father are too stubborn to swallow your pride and apologize to each other. You are selfish!

Yugo and the others were surprised to see their red-haired friend go from a playful and distracted boy to someone serious and realistic in the snap of a finger. Edmundo kept his serious expression on his face while everyone remained silent without daring to say anything.

Xav in turn realized that despite being young, the swordsman really was right, but he wouldn't want to admit it to anyone.

Seeing that no one would say anything, Edmundo let out an annoyed sigh before crossing his arms and clicking his tongue.

Edmundo: *imitating Xav* "Look, I'm a baker who wanted to be anywhere but here listening to this red-haired brat. I love fighting with Dad and staying silent when I'm made to see I'm wrong about it, I blame it on my dad when I'm just as wrong as he is, followed by some more silence."

The redhead then comes face to face with the baker as the two look into each other's eyes.

Edmundo: So how will it be, huh? A long period of silence? Or a mean comment? He speaks.

Xav stared at him for a few seconds before realizing there was no way to contradict the swordsman before sighing in defeat and responding.

Xav: I... don't know how to respond to that.

The young redhead then raises his arms in celebration.

Edmundo: Aha! Just look!

Evangelyne then puts her hand on the redhead's shoulder to try to calm him down a little.

Evangelyne: Enough Ed, enough said.

The redhead only snorts in response before turning away as Xav turned his back on the group and returned to observing his wheat field.

Yugo, seeing the tension that had formed between his "older brother" and the baker, tried to think of something when an idea came to mind. Maybe he could help Xav in the competition and even resolve the fight between him and his father, something that would make Edmundo's mood improve, but to do that he would have to find a way to convince his friends to help.

Yugo: Hey guys, what do you think about giving him a hand?

As expected everyone became quiet at Yugo's question as they looked away.

Seeing that asking would be no use asking, the boy in the hat realized that he would have to start appealing.

Yugo: If we helped Xav, we'd be able to take a shower and sleep in a real bed.

Amália soon got excited about this and before everyone knew it, Princess Sadida was already hugging Xav's arm.

Yugo: And maybe earn a little extra by selling his bread.

Ruel soon stopped next to the baker, patting him on the shoulder, leaving only the two young warriors and the Cra girl still with their arms crossed, refusing to help.

Yugo: But I'll warn you, it might be super dangerous, it looks like there are some really big monsters involved.

This comment made young Iop perk up and before Evangelyne knew it, Percedal was already carrying Xav on his shoulders while Ruel and Amália were cheering him on.

Seeing that there were only her and Edmundo left, young Cra asked with a smile.

Evangelyne: And me? You're not even going to try to convince me?

Yugo: No, you're too smart to fall for that story.

Cra looked at him for a moment with half-closed eyes before speaking.

Evangelyne: Not bad, for a kid.

And finally Evangelyne started walking towards where the others are while Yugo looked at Edmundo and spoke.

Yugo: And... Uh.... Uh-oh.

Yugo's expression immediately changed to concern as he couldn't think of anything to convince the redhead to help.

Edmundo: What do you want now?

Yugo: Oh...

...

...

...

Yugo: Please?

The swordsman's expression remained serious as he still had his arms crossed and an impassive look on his face.

Edmundo: Why should I?

Yugo: Please, Big Brother.

The older man just sighs before kneeling down to the boy in the hat and speaking.

Edmundo: Yugo, I promised your father that I would accompany you on your journey to help you and protect you with my life if necessary, and my promise will prevail. I will help, but only because you asked me to.

Yugo gets a smile on his face at those words before the redhead gets a small smile on his face before the two look at the others next to the baker.

Edmundo: I would just like our friends to help, but not thinking about their own interests and the rewards they want for the service.

Yugo: Nah, I honestly just said that to convince them.

Edmundo: *laughs* Hahahaha very well Little Brother. But let me tell you something. A truly kind act always generates more kindness. Remember this when you grow up.

Yugo: I will, Big Brother.

[Timeskip with Ruel running after Edmundo with a manic look wanting to get his Kama back while the redhead runs away from the Enutrof with a playful smile on his face.]

Edmundo was now seen in front of what was left of the old wheat warehouse while scratching the back of his head thinking about how he was going to fix it himself.

Edmundo: I know I broke the door and the back wall, but it was only because of that walking croissant that hit me. I bet Xav gave me this task because I told him the truth.

Helene: It's not entirely true.

The swordsman soon turns to see the baker's wife leaving the house to come talk to him.

Edmundo: Madam Helene, I'm sorry about that.

Helene: Don't apologize. Actually, I wanted to say thank you.

Edmundo: Thank you? For destroying the warehouse?

Helene: *laughs* No, from what you said to Xav earlier.

Edmundo: Hmm?

Helene: Although you were rude, your words really got to him. I think what you said made him think about the subject.

Edmundo: I understand, but I only said what I thought.

Helene: And I thank you. I think that maybe, after this competition is over, maybe Xav will be able to settle with Ratafouine.

Edmundo: I pray so. Well, if you'll excuse me, I have to get my hands dirty. *laughter*

Helene shakes her head with a small smile at the boy's childishness before heading to the field to help Cra and Princess Sadida, leaving the swordsman alone.

The boy turned his gaze to the charred building before tightening the knot on his forehead band and gaining a determined expression.

Edmundo: It will take a while, so the sooner I start, the sooner I finish.

Without wasting any more time he made a movement with his hands using his earth element powers to lift a part of the ground along with the debris before moving the piece of earth to the side before tilting it a little dumping the debris into a pile. .

Soon he placed the piece of earth back in its place on the ground before taking a small jump and stamping his feet hard on the ground and then raising his hands with closed fists causing a stone wall to sprout from the ground.

He repeated his action three more times creating new walls for the place. I'm already trying to do all the walls in the place, he walked to the place where the door would be when he extended his index and biggest fingers and moved his hand as if he was making a drawing on the stone that was marked in the shape of a door.

Once that was done, he made the movement as if he was going to punch the wall and the marked door-shaped part jumped out before falling to the floor with a loud thud.

Edmundo repeated the same process to make the windows and once this was done and finished, the swordsman began to install the wooden doors and windows. Soon this was ready and all that was left was to do the roof, but it didn't take long for this to be done.

After finishing his work, the redhead was seen inspecting the newest warehouse before wiping the sweat from his face and starting to walk out of the place while humming a song.

The Princess of the Sadida Kingdom felt an immense amount of power surround her which left her surprised before she looked at the swordsman looking for an answer to this, to that sudden increase in power, but the redhead just shrugged as he didn't know explain where he got so much energy from.

Turning her attention to what she was doing, the brunette concentrated and the wheat soon began to grow while Helene and Evangelyne looked at it in amazement as they saw the wheat restored.

Helene: Good job man, it's perfect.

Amália smiled, not feeling too tired thanks to the help she received before standing up and thanking the swordsman.

However, the swordsman was no longer paying attention to Sadida as her gaze was focused in a different direction, on the forest, as if he was seeing something in the distance watching him like a beast waiting for the right time to attack its prey. The boy squinted his eyes while Cra and Sadida looked at him with confusion on their faces.

Amália: Edmundo? What are you looking at?

Edmundo: Oh, hi Little Brother? What happened? You won, right?

Yugo: Yes! I even saved an extra loaf of bread for you, Big Brother!

The boy in the blue hat then showed an extra loaf of bread in his hands while the redhead smiled and rubbed the younger's head.

Edmundo: Congratulations Little Brother! You did very well!

They smiled at each other before Edmundo crouched down in front and got a serious look on his face.

Edmundo: But Yugo... I have something to ask you...

Yugo: What is it?

Edmundo: Ever since what happened in Obecalp, I've been wondering... Are you sure?

Yugo: Uh... Are you sure?

Edmundo: Whoever goes with you from now on. I promised your father that I would help you find your true family and that I would protect you on your path, but you saw what happened when I went crazy because of the poison in those flowers. I could have hurt you and the others...or worse...the way I was out of control...I could have killed you.

Yugo just looked at the redhead who lowered his head.

Edmundo: I think it's better for you to stay with the others who won't try to kill you if they get angry. So I'll ask you one more time... Are you sure you want me to come along?

Yugo just nods as he swings his arms around the swordsman's neck and hugs him, which makes the redhead surprised by the little boy's response as he gently pats him on the back as he sees Ruel ahead with a small smile. on his face, seeing that their relationship was reminiscent of the one he had with Alibert when they were younger.

Yugo: Here.

Yugo pulls away from the hug as he hands him the bread which Edmundo kindly accepted when he stood up and tried to speak.

Edmundo: Thanks little brother.

Yugo just gives him the biggest smile as the redhead smiles back at him before breaking the bread in half and giving a piece to the boy in the hat who accepted it with a smile before both boys enjoyed the bread with happy smiles on their faces.

[Timeskip with Edmundo reading a book as he walks on water using his Elemental powers while Yugo and Percedal watch in awe as the young Guardian of Shushu tries to do the same only to end up sinking and getting wet.]

At the end of the day, Edmundo, Yugo and Percedal were seen running in front of Xav's house while playing with the baker's children. However, the swordsman heard a voice calling him when he realized that Xav and Ratafouile were calling him.

Edmundo was a little confused as he walked towards the two bakers to see what they wanted with him.

Edmundo: Can I help?

Ratafouile: To tell you the truth kid, I heard about the conversation you had with my son earlier.

Edmundo: If you're going to scold me for this, I warn you that I won't listen to you because I don't think I'm wrong and I'm sure of that.

Ratafouile and Xav look at each other before turning their gaze to Edmundo with smiles on their faces.

Xav: Actually, we wanted to say thank you.

Edmundo: Thank you? Whereby?

Xav: From what I said earlier, his words made me think a lot about my disagreements with my father.

Ratafouile: I confess that I heard a little of the conversation you two had earlier, and I also started thinking about it.

Xav and Ratafouile: We realized that we were fighting over something that didn't really matter, that we were creating anger and hatred towards each other over something that could be resolved with conversation. Thanks to you we realized this and we are very grateful. Thank you Edmundo.

The redhead blinked a few times before his smile appeared on his face and he spoke, happy to see that he had helped father and son understand each other.

Edmundo: You're welcome, I'm glad it helped hehe.

The three then started talking to Xav and Ratafouile, asking Edmundo about his case of amnesia, which he said he didn't remember anything about before waking up at the age of 10 in the middle of a forest. The two bakers also asked to see the symbol on Edmundo's katana, but unfortunately neither recognized the mark other than thinking it looked like a dragon's head.

After that, the bakers wished the swordsman good luck in finding his past and Edmundo soon returned to playing with the others until dinner was ready.

It soon started to get late and it was time to sleep, and the group of adventurers would sleep in the guest room and there would be a bed for everyone to share, with the exception of someone who would have to sleep on the floor.

Yugo was already sleeping with Percedal snoring next to him, Ruel greedy as always refused to share a bed with anyone and Amália and Evangelyne were sleeping in a bed, leaving Edmundo with a sullen face and his arms crossed.

Edmundo: And the hot guy here, is he going to drown?

The others just looked at him before settling down to sleep without paying attention to the redhead's protests who sighed in annoyance before walking outside while grumbling.

Edmundo: *sarcastic* That's great! I get slapped hard by a street loaf of bread, I'm thrown against a warehouse like a cannonball, I get really screwed, then I have to build a warehouse alone, I help Amália and Eva with the wheat, I help Percedal and Ruel with the water and they thank me by giving me the hard, cold floor to sleep on. What a mess with me! Thank you guys! Thank you so! Love you! JUST NO!

With that said, he leaves the room slamming the door behind him before exiting the house and climbing on top of the roof before turning his gaze to the stars.

Edmundo: I know I'm used to sleeping on the floor, but what I wouldn't do for a warm bed right now.

A few hours passed as Edmundo watched the stars shine above him as sleep and tiredness began to consume the boy. He felt the same sensation of being watched, but was too tired to think about it as he climbed down from the roof before quietly entering the house and heading to the guest room where he saw his friends sleeping comfortably.

The redhead yawned before removing his green shirt that was underneath his blue tunic and placing it next to his brown ones along with his armbands, then he removed his sword from his belt and placed it next to his other things. with just his tunic and pants.

Edmundo then used his boots as a pillow and his shirt as a blanket before laying down on the floor as his eyes blinked closer and closer as he looked at the others sleeping comfortably.

Edmundo: I'm too good for you...

His eyes finally closed and he began to sleep. However someone groaned in annoyance before two silhouettes got up and went to the swordsman before taking him in their arms and dragging him to the bed where the girls were sleeping.

The two silhouettes that revealed themselves to be Amália and Evangelyne looked at the boy now sleeping in their bed before looking at each other.

Amália: *whispers* Are you sure about this?

Evangelyne: *whispers* He worked harder than all of us combined, let's leave him there, but just this once.

Amália: Good thing because he will sleep on your side of the bed.

Before Cra noticed, Amália had laid down on the left side of the bed while Edmundo snored on the right side, leaving only a space in the middle for the blonde who sighed before lying down with a blush on her face that increased when Edmundo, in the middle of his sleep, he ended up hugging Cra around the waist.

Evangelyne got tense about that and thought about pushing him away, but she was afraid of waking him up along with the others and ending up causing a huge mess at that time of night.

The archer then curled up to sleep before whispering to the swordsman beside her.

Evangelyne: *whispers* You must be loving this, right, Airhead? Enjoy it while you can.

Soon sleep invaded Cra's system and he began to close his eyes, but not before speaking.

Evangelyne: Good night, Ed.

Edmundo: Good night, Eva. Zzzz...

Evangelyne was a little surprised that he responded, but she soon fell asleep like everyone else.

Unknown to the group, a group of shadows watched them the entire time, paying attention to the swordsman who slept carefree.

???1: We finally found him.

???2: Let's warn Master Van Vilss.

The two then left the place, entering the darkness of the forest as everything went dark and silence took over the place.
