22yrs old Clara white went out of her parents house going out into the street and searching for a job. Walking thru the beautiful deserted street Clara paused and stared at the poster hung brightly on the wall. [Beware of Vampire].

She swallowed and continue walking into the cold street walking up a bit, she paused and stared around. She was determined to get a job. Her family as been in hardship and suffering due to the high cost of commodity and food stuff and being the only daughter out of six male, she had to help her poor mother and father, as they were both from the lower classes families.

She has been warned by her mother never to keep late night whenever she goes out to visit any of her friends and as it stands it was already evening before she decided to search her whole street for poster of any vacancy.

She continued walking and later found herself in another street that was lively despite the hour and time had already fallen to evening. She walked towards the open restaurant and the owner whom was a beautiful short black woman stared at her.

"What do you want to buy little girl?" The restaurant owner asked as she went back into the big restaurant to attend to her customers and to monitor her sales workers.

Clara stomach grumbled with the smell of food she perceived and she walked into the restaurant hearing the town bell that rung, 6pm sharp.

Clara swallowed and walked into the restaurant, was she dreaming. All the people in the restaurant were black while she was the only white person, making it seemed like an angel had stepped a foot into the land of the demons.

Clara swallowed and kept her face and head focused on the owner of the restaurant and just as she walked to approach the woman, it seemed like the customers in the large eatery room went still as all their eyes were on her.

She swallowed again nervously as she fell sweat and chill run down her spine. She could hear the sound of their some chewing their beef rapidly like animals, while some glared at her with chapped teethes and teeth that looked longer than the humans.

Clara swallowed and approached the restaurant owner. "Good evening ma'am" Clara greeted her and the woman stared at her and questioned angrily. "What do you want here?."

"Please ma, am looking for a job and I have been walking the whole area since noon and only got to discover this place now and is already getting late" Clara explained and the woman stared at her. She was also a vampire and they hated to see any beautiful woman and more reason she had gone out to ask the young lady what she initially wanted to buy. [How can a human look so colourless like a paper] The woman thought.

"Where are you from?," she asked the white looking girl.

"Am from Locust Grove village," The girl responded.

"And you came to work here, all the way from that village and forbidden town. I cannot employ you," The woman deadpanned and Clara quickly shook her head and rushed to block the woman's view.

"Please ma, we're starving, we cannot go out to farm in our village anymore and the little produce we have isn't enough to feed us all. Please ma anything you want me to do I'll do it." Clara begged as she clapped her palms together and pleaded.

"No young woman, go back to your town, you're not welcome here," The woman walked back into kitchen ignoring Clara and the rest of her staff stared at the strange creature that had stepped foot into their restaurant.

Clara remembered her mother's warning and she immediately ran out of the restaurant running back home to her town. On getting home she meet her worried father outside, "Clara you're back," Her father rushed to her and welcome her back into the house.

"Where did you go too?" Mr Christopher asked as he lead his daughter back into their house and shut the door. Her mother quickly stood up from the couch and walked up to meet her, "Clara where did you go too?. Didn't you see the time," Mrs White asked her daughter.

"Mother we cannot continue to live here and suffer. I went out to search for a job."

"WHAT!" Mr and Mrs White screamed.

"Why, we can still manage why will you go out. You heard the danger happening in the town and yet you still went out, don't try it again," Her mother warned as she bursted out crying.

"Why mother?. Since I have been growing up as a child, you and father refused me from going out to the town and now that I have grown to assist you both, you're still refusing my help?." Clara questioned with a deep frown and her mother sighed.

*You see Clara, we cannot allow you go out from here. There are vampires in the town and most especially the royal family," Mrs White said and her husband sighed and walked to the side to sit, about three of his son where sleeping while three were awake, but Clara was older than all her three brothers that were awake. Two were twins while the remain two were single.

Her three brothers awake where Tony, Tife and Bush.

Tony and Tife were twin while Bush was single born.

"What do you mean by vampire mother?" Clara questioned remembering some strange people she had seen at the open restaurant in the far away town.

"Clara I don't know how to explain it to you, but you see from 6pm in the evening you are not allowed to walk out the street as that's the time those vampires do usually get out from their houses and walked about purchasing things they use in their home as the sun has already fallen."

"Mother I don't understand you," Clara said as she walked back to the room scared.

"Clara we are humans and humans have no business with vampire and the rest of their kind. Don't go out to work again except you want to be killed and have your blood sucked dry by them."

"No mother, I reject it," Clara quickly refused and Mrs White nodded, "Good my child, please bear with us, your father is planning on relocating and we will relocate to another town soon, hopefully there wouldn't be any vampire there," Mrs White said.

"Okay," Clara said and sat down back on the couch. She kept wondering what a Vampire is or if her parent were just lying to her so she wouldn't go out to work. Later she walked back into the kitchen to assist her mother in making their night meal. They were poor and managing and the little food wasn't enough to feed them all as they were nine in numbers. seven children and their parents. Clara sighed as she finally helped her mother dishes out the little food. Soon her whole six brothers sat round on the floor while she placed the bowl of food at their center. Taking out her spoon to join them, her brothers already ate all the food in the bowl to the last drop and two little ones started crying as the food wasn't enough for them. "Mama I want more," her youngest brother Sami cried. "Yes Mama me too," Matt and Boom cried.

Clara sighed and stood up, she went back to the kitchen to scrap the burnt part in the pot to eat. There was no food and with how they were seriously managing, she doubt she would believe what her parents said about vampires being in the land. She didn't go school either and had always been home with her parent. She has seen some of her neighbors in their house, sending their kids to school but her parent never had the money too. Why would her mother keep given birth to many of them, knowing how difficult things were for them. Clara sighed as she scrape the burnt part to eat, as she picked up her spoon to eat the burnt bottom of the pot, her last brother Sami called her, "Clara," as he stared at the spoon she raised up to her mouth to eat.

The spoon paused halfway in the air abd she sighed. "Not again Sami am hungry too," Clara murmured as she ate the spoon full and her little brother bursted out crying as he stood beside her

"Clara you should learn to share your things with your brothers," her mother told her as she stepped into the kitchen and collected the pot from her hand and gave it to her little brother Sami who was 4yrs old.

"But mom, am hungry too, I don't like this, I don't!" Clara cried out as she ran out of the kitchen and went back to her room sobbing. Her mother came into her room to talk to her, "Clara I know how you feel, but it not good to eat and watch your younger ones starve," Mrs White told her.

"Leave me alone mother, I don't matter to you and father, am hungry," Clara cried and turned to lat on the mat in her room. Mrs White sighed abd stood up from the bed. They didn't have much food but it wasn't her fault either, she sighed and stood up from the mat and left her daughter's room to go talk to her husband.
