"Dad, are you really willing to sacrifice Brie's life just to eliminate the enemy?" Trevon Neal asked quietly.

"You are the Young Master of the Northern Army. Today, I will teach you what you must uphold," Braydon Neal replied calmly, locking eyes with his son. "In the future, as leader of the Northern Army, millions will follow you to the death. You must understand, you cannot allow yourself to be threatened in this life."

Being threatened meant yielding their benefits, and that would mean betraying the interests of all Northern Army soldiers. 

It would destroy the army's morale and cohesion that had been carefully built over the years.

"Since the establishment of the Northern Army, betrayal has never been tolerated," Braydon continued solemnly. "Any betrayal among Northern Army's leadership would fracture our elite forces, a scenario I refuse to witness."
