Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 You're about to die_1

"Hey, Jiang Chen, is your medical skill really that amazing?"

"Do you actually have a medical practice license?"

"Also, Jiang Chen, did you graduate from some medical university?"

Lin Wan, who was nearby, bombarded him with a rapid-fire string of questions.

Jiang Chen patiently answered each one, "As for how impressive my medical skill is, you all saw it just now, at least it's passable, right? A medical practice license? What's that? I don't have one. And I didn't graduate from medical school; I dropped out in my senior year of high school."

His answers were straightforward, with little attempt to hide anything.

However, the two women clearly did not believe his responses.

"Jiang Chen, you have nothing, yet you possess such medical skills? It must be a fluke, right?"

Lin Wan asked again, then a look of realization spread across her pretty face as she nodded and answered her own question, "Yes! It must be a fluke! A blind cat running into a dead mouse. That's what happened, right, Jing Yi…"

Ye Jingyi was noncommittal, looking at Jiang Chen with a doubtful gaze, she, too, found it hard to believe him.

Perhaps, everything really did boil down to coincidence.

Hearing Lin Wan's words, Jiang Chen rolled his eyes.

What does she mean, a blind cat running into a dead mouse? He had healed with true skill and capability, okay?

However, Jiang Chen did not want to waste more words explaining himself on this matter, as the origin of his medical skill was really something he couldn't clearly discuss with others.

"Hello, young man!" Just then, a robust figure suddenly approached Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen turned and saw who it was. The man was brawny, with a square-shaped face, probably in his forties, standing tall and exuding a domineering presence.

The man was wearing high-end casual clothes, but what drew the most attention was the vivid, lifelike tattoo of a black dragon peeking out from his neck.

"Who are you?" Jiang Chen asked with a puzzled look, not recognizing the man.

"Haha, here's my business card," the square-faced man replied, not giving his name but instead handing over a business card with a hearty laugh after taking it out from his clothes.

The card was simple, listing only a name and a personal mobile number.

Zhang Long? Jiang Chen didn't make a fuss and took the card, surprised by the sheer simplicity of the card's content.

"What do you need from me?" Jiang Chen inquired.

The two women standing by were also curious, revealing a hint of speculation about the man's intentions.

"I witnessed you saving that person just now. So, I am confident that you are a capable individual. Recently, I've been feeling a bit unwell and was wondering if you could take a look for me, see if there's anything wrong with my health?" Zhang Long asked with a smile, slowly explaining his situation.

To outsiders, it may seem like a desperate act of seeking medical help anywhere possible.

But he had visited numerous hospitals and none could find an issue. However, he knew his own body and indeed had not been feeling well lately; hence, he persisted in seeking consultations everywhere.

Originally, he had secured an appointment with the famed Divine Doctor Ye Yang today.

Unexpectedly, Ye Yang ran off to this hospital, so he followed suit and, consequently, witnessed Jiang Chen saving a life.

At that moment, he surmised that Jiang Chen's medical skill was extraordinary, and while Ye Yang and the others were busy, he quietly followed Jiang Chen.

After hearing the purpose of his visit, Jiang Chen did not refuse and firstly used the diagnostic method of inspection, to examine Zhang Long.

But soon after, his brow furrowed.

The more he observed, the more solemn his expression became.

After just a few glances, and without even needing to take his pulse, Jiang Chen already had an idea of Zhang Long's condition.

After pondering for a moment, Jiang Chen slowly spoke, "You're not just a little ill, it's a fatal disease. If it's not treated in time, you will die."

"What?"

Zhang Long was stunned, then a peculiar look crossed his face.

Truth be told, when he came, he was quite confident in Jiang Chen. After all, the man had just saved a patient that even Ye Yang couldn't help. So, he had planned to have Jiang Chen give him a thorough examination and to take his advice seriously.

But who would have thought that Jiang Chen would merely glance at him and declare he had a fatal illness? This sounded far too alarmist.

Moreover, he didn't believe Jiang Chen's words at all. Although he didn't feel well, it was nowhere near life-threatening.

Was this an attempt to make a scapegoat out of him and slaughter him for a fortune?

"Heh, young man, are you joking? I've got a fatal illness, and I'm going to die? Maybe you should take a closer look?"

Zhang Long smiled but a hint of coldness flickered in his eyes. He, Zhang Long, was no pushover to be trifled with.

Jiang Chen, however, did not notice the coldness in the other man's eyes and patiently explained, "You don't believe me? Then I'll tell you that you will begin to feel chest tightness and shortness of breath in the next two days, and a red line will appear on your chest. If that red line...

"Dare you spout more nonsense?" However, before he could finish, Lin Wan snapped at him, pulling him away quickly, while Ye Jingyi also helped to push Jiang Chen away.

The two women's actions prevented Jiang Chen from finishing, so he could only smile wryly as they pushed and pulled him away.

"Chest tightness and shortness of breath, plus a red line on the chest? Hmph, what a joke."

Zhang Long, left behind, repeated Jiang Chen's words to himself, then shook his head with a cold laugh and turned to leave.

"Jiang Chen, you're really going too far! Do you really think you're the Divine Doctor? To curse someone with a life-threatening illness upon first meeting, you must be crazy!"

Once they were alone, the trio stopped, Lin Wan fuming as she spoke, her beautiful eyes fiercely glaring at Jiang Chen.

Ye Jingyi was also infuriated by Jiang Chen; the man was simply mad, daring to casually diagnose someone and declaring them close to death.

Did he really think he was the Divine Doctor, or did he take the other person for a fool?

Alas, it seemed that the patient Jiang Chen treated before really was just a stroke of luck.

But who ever has that kind of luck all the time? Good luck is something that can run out eventually.

Jiang Chen, however, was left speechless by their anger. Everything he said was true, so why wouldn't anyone believe him?

Especially the just-now Zhang Long, who clearly didn't believe him and treated his words like wind past his ears. But if that illness were to drag on, it really would be fatal.

Unfortunately, no one here really believed him. In the end, he was pushed by the two women to undergo an examination.

Ye Jingyi, determined to be thorough, spent some money to have Jiang Chen examined from head to toe at Jinhai City Hospital.

But when the examination was over and she looked at Jiang Chen's medical report, her face turned green.

The medical report made one thing clear: there was nothing wrong with Jiang Chen's health. On the contrary, he was very healthy, as healthy as one could possibly be.
