"Are you threatening me?"
Charlie was furious. After all, he had been in Atlanta for many years, and it had always been him who threatened others. The idea that someone else could threaten him was inconceivable.
Yet, the person on the other end of the line showed no deference, merely responding with an icy laugh:
"Mr. Charlie, what a curious question. If this isn't a threat, then what would you call one?"
After pausing, the voice added:
"By tomorrow, I expect you to prepare one billion in cash. Otherwise, some very unpleasant things will happen to both of us."
The call was abruptly disconnected. Listening to the dial tone, Charlie's face turned ashen.
At that moment, Charlie wanted nothing more than to tear George to pieces. However, for the sake of his daughter, he had no choice but to swallow his anger.
"Very well, George. I'd like to see what other tricks you have up your sleeve."
