"Eld, after all these years of friendship, I never imagined you'd have the audacity to lie to me about this matter," began Harvin, his fury evident.
Harvin, incensed, stood up and slammed his hand on the table, shouting, "If you don't regard me as a friend, then forget about receiving any orders from our company in the future!"
He was about to storm out when Eld hurriedly intervened to block his path.
"Everything I've said is the truth. What will it take for you to believe me? Do I need to bring you to Mr. Mike so he can tell you himself?" pleaded Eld. But Harvin dismissed him, not even affording him a glance.
Eld could guess what Harvin was thinking.
After all, the money came from Mike. What difference did it make whether it benefited others or benefited Harvin himself? Wasn't it obvious that the proverbial "meat pie" shouldn't be given away to strangers?
