How did I get myself into this mess?
I buried my face in my palms and started rethinking all of my life choices.
"Hey Sakhi, what happened? Why do you appear to be so pale all of a sudden? Satya asked worriedly.
Today, I must have stepped out of the house during the period of Rāhu. If not, then why do I have to encounter the main characters this fast? And not only that, I just quarrelled with the male lead.
I want to be buried under 6 feet (1.83 metres). I had hoped to leave a lasting impression on the main cast and develop a closer relationship with them, but it seems that fate has conspired against me and sabotaged my own efforts.
Damn it, I no longer want to be a part of this plot. I'll just focus on my studies and get out of here quickly.
I should have noticed the main character's aura; I simply ignored all of it because of my ego.
I can't believe I messed with the male lead, Arjun, and now I have to study with him at the same college for the next few years.
This Arjun, without any care in the world, came to the class with his buddy, took his seat, and finally settled.
He often gets into fights and just does whatever he feels is right.
He started scanning the class, observing each and every member, and his eyes finally landed on me. His eyes narrowed as his eyes fell on me, and we could literally feel the electric spark of hatred beaming from our eyes.
I won't let this boy get into me. His eyes stayed on me like a challenge, and I'm not going to back off. I struggle to maintain strong eye contact with people. Whenever I face someone, an overwhelming force compels me to lower my eyes.
A thought came across my mind: Wait a minute, this is not me. I was never this girl who wanted to fight and win. I always settle with what I have, and now why am I behaving this way?
They're male leads for a reason, and we don't want to get into their eyes at any cost; they can ruin you.
I averted my gaze and swiftly focused on the board. Within seconds, the professor arrived, gracefully introduced himself, and began illuminating our minds with captivating introductory lectures.
As it was an introductory class, they were pretty easy to understand without any difficulty. When I find some free time today, I must take advantage of the chance to fully explore the college and create a comprehensive map. This way, I can ensure that I navigate this vast campus without ever getting lost.
When the bell rang, he dismissed the class before he left. It was so boring.
"Hey Satya, when we have some free time, we'll explore the college. What do you think?"
"I was thinking the same; yes, let's do it during the break; our thoughts are really similar."
As I was facing her and listening to her, a shadow fell on her, and she stopped, and when I turned, it was none other than the male lead.
Satya's words stuck in her throat, and she refused to come out as she was facing him.
Aww, poor girl. After a lot of thinking, I've decided that I should stay away from them, even from Satya. Sorry, Satya, I want to be your friend so badly, but I don't want to disrupt the story. It must go on.
"What?" I asked innocently while making puppy eyes.
"That facade will not deceive me."
...
"You better act good in front of me if you want a peaceful college life, or else it won't end well for both of us, and it will be a very big problem."
He said all these without breaking any eye contact, making me feel like he's looking into my soul.
His words made me nervous, and my breathing became eradicated.
What's wrong with this guy? Do all the male leads have to be low-quality? Can't they act nice for once?
I hate this kind of person who thinks so highly of themselves and acts like they're at the top of the world.
I won't lose to you.
With a bored look, she said, "Sure, even I don't like to mess with narcissist people." Did you just call me a narcissist?"

How dare I? I'm just talking about narcissistic people. I never mentioned it's you. Are you offended in any way, sir?"
As I uttered the words, I emphasised the importance of individuals recognising their rightful position and behaving accordingly. To my astonishment, his eyes narrowed upon hearing my assertive statement. Yet, much to my amazement, he responded with a smile and quietly resumed his place.
That smile gave me chills. What was that?
Wait a minute. Why is his way of talking a bit different? Am I missing something?
Forget it; it's always better to stay away from the weirdos.
"Do you know him?" Satya asked
"No, I don't know. He's someone insignificant. I don't know him; you don't have to worry about it."
"I don't think it's good to hang out with someone like him, Sakhi; I think it's good to stay away from him."
Why is she telling me that? I thought she had a crush on him for what she's saying like that.
I don't think it's to make me stay away from him!
I better wait before making my own assumptions.
This is a crazy world, and I don't want to get trapped in this spider web.
After three more classes, we finally got our lunch break.
Hey Sakhi, did you bring anything for lunch?"
I don't know if they have cafeteria food, so I bought mine just in case," I said, waving my lunch box to her.
"I didn't bring any; how about we go to the cafeteria to have lunch? We can explore the college as well."
Right, let's go." We headed to the cafeteria, and we encountered a lot of college students on the way, roaming here and there.
How big does this college have to be to accommodate all these students? I wonder. A sigh escaped as I remembered my college. There's nothing worth remembering about it.
We took our seats and started looking around. There's not much variety to eat here in the cafeteria.
Just some drinks, snacks, and a few dishes.
Now I don't feel like having anything here.
After looking for a few minutes, Satya said, "I want to eat fried rice; what do you want to eat, Sakhi?"
I'll pass; I already brought my lunch; he doesn't want to throw it away." pulling out the box from my bag
Satya gave a slightly disappointed look but quickly brought back her smile.
"Sakhi, if you don't mind, can you please order for me?"
what ?? Who the hell does she think she is to order me around? I freaking hate these kinds of people; I just can't help but curse them.
Still, as she's the heroine of this novel, I have to be patient. You don't want to get on their bad side. We can't beat their aura.
I clenched my teeth to suppress my anger and nodded, and in response, she beamed in happiness.
I went to the canteen counter to place the order and just stood there until I received it. Some students were looking at me with curiosity, but I don't mind.
When the fried rice arrived, it was steaming hot, emitting a delicious aroma from all the spices that went into it.
Why am I feeling like a servant? One more reason to hate this world.
I returned to our table with the plate and placed it in front of her with the spoon.
"Here's your food; enjoy," I said as I started to open my lunchbox.
"Thank you so much, Sakhi. There's so many people, and I'm afraid to go, so I asked for your help. I'm so grateful to you, and I hope you don't mind."
Putting on my best fake smile, I told her not to mention it.
We ate our food without any hindrance for the rest of the lunch break.
We went to our class after finishing lunch and took our seats in the class.
The rest of the day went by with the classes, and the last class was cancelled due to some unknown reason, so we decided to return home early.
I wanted to go to the library, but Sathya wanted to go home and insisted that I should do the same.
What's wrong with this girl? I know she's the heroine, but that doesn't mean that everything will have to go in her favour.
I didn't have much energy to argue with her, so I gave in, and we two went to the bus stop.
We both live in two different directions, and her bus arrived first and she left. After waiting for a few minutes, I finally arrived at my destination bus and went home.
To be continued...
